Exodus 15:1-21

1 Then Moses and the sons of Israel sang this song to Yahweh and spoke saying: Let me sing to Yahweh, for He is august, yea august: The horse and its rider He heaved into the sea. 2 Yah is my strength and my melody, and He become mine for salvation. This is my El; I shall adorn Him, Elohim of my father, I shall exalt Him. 3 Yahweh is a Man of war; Yahweh is His Name. 4 The chariots of Pharaoh and his army He shot into the sea, and the choice of his third fighters sank into the Sea of Weeds. 5 Abysses covered them; they descended into shadowy depths as a stone. 6 Your right hand, Yahweh, was ennobled in vigor; Your right hand, Yahweh, was harrying the enemy. 7 And by the vastness of Your pomp You were demolishing those rising against You; You were sending forth Your heat; it was devouring them as straw. 8 And by the wind of Your anger the waters were denuded, the floods were stood up as a waterspout; the abysses were curdled in the heart of the sea. 9 The enemy said: I shall pursue! I shall overtake! I shall apportion the loot! My soul's desire shall be fulfilled on them! I shall unsheathe my sword! My hand shall evict them! 10 You made a breeze with Your wind; the sea covered them. They submerged as lead in the noble waters. 11 Who is like You among the elim, Yahweh? Who is like You, ennobled in holiness, fear-inspiring in praiseworthy deeds, working marvels? 12 You stretched out Your right hand; the earth swallowed them up. 13 You guided in Your kindness this people You have redeemed; You will conduct them by Your strength to Your holy homestead. 14 The peoples have heard; they are disturbed. Travail, it has taken hold of the dwellers of Philistia. 15 Then the sheiks of Edom are flustered; the arbiters of Moab, quivering took hold of them. All the dwellers of Canaan are dissolved. 16 Dread and awe are falling on them; by the greatness of Your arm they are still as a stone, until Your people are passing by, Yahweh, until this people whom You have acquired are passing by. 17 You shall bring them in and plant them in the mount of Your allotment, the site for Your dwelling which You have contrived, Yahweh, the sanctuary, Yahweh, which Your hands have established. 18 Yahweh, He shall reign for the eon and further. 19 When the horses of Pharaoh had entered with his chariots and with his horsemen into the sea, then Yahweh returned the waters of the sea over them. Yet the sons of Israel, they had gone on dry ground in the midst of the sea!" 20 Then Miriam, the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, took the tambourine in her hand, and all the women went forth after her with tambourines and with choruses. 21 And Miriam responded to them: Sing to Yahweh, for He is august, yea august: The horse and its rider He heaved into the sea.

Judges 5:1-31

1 And Deborah sings--also Barak son of Abinoam--on that day, saying:-. 2 `For freeing freemen in Israel, For a people willingly offering themselves Bless you Yahweh. 3 Hear, you kings; give ear, you princes, I, to Yahweh, I--I do sing, I sing praise to Yahweh, Elohim of Israel. 4 Yahweh, in Your going forth out of Seir, In Your stepping out of the field of Edom, Earth trembled, also the heavens dropped, Also thick clouds dropped water. 5 Hills flowed from the face of Yahweh, This one--Sinai--From the face of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel. 6 In the days of Shamgar son of Anath--In the days of Jael--The ways have ceased, And those going in the paths go [in] crooked ways. 7 Villages ceased in Israel--they ceased, Till that I arose--Deborah, That I arose, a mother in Israel. 8 He chooses new elohims, Then war [is] at the gates! A shield is not seen--and a spear Among forty thousand in Israel. 9 My heart [is] to the lawgivers of Israel, Who are offering themselves willingly among the people, Bless you Yahweh!" 10 Riders on white asses--Sitters on a long robe--And walkers by the way--meditate! 11 By the voice of shouters Between the places of drawing water, There they give out righteous acts of Yahweh, Righteous acts of His villages in Israel, Then ruled in the gates have the people of Yahweh. 12 Awake, awake, Deborah; Awake, awake, utter a song; Rise, Barak, and take captive your captivity, Son of Abinoam. 13 Then him who is left of the honorable ones He caused to rule the people of Yahweh, He caused me to rule among the mighty. 14 Out of Ephraim their root [is] against Amalek. After you, Benjamin, among your peoples. Out of Machir came down lawgivers, And out of Zebulun those drawing with the reed of a writer. 15 And princes in Issachar [are] with Deborah, Yea, Issachar [is] right with Barak, Into the valley he was sent on his feet. In the divisions of Reuben, Great [are] the decrees of heart!" 16 Why have you abode between the boundaries, To hear lowings of herds? For the divisions of Reuben, Great [are] the searchings of heart!" 17 Gilead beyond the Jordan did tabernacle, And Dan--why does he sojourn [in] ships? Asher has abode at the haven of the seas, And by his creeks does tabernacle. 18 Zebulun [is] a people who exposed its soul to death, Naphtali also--on high places of the field. 19 Kings came--they fought; Then fought kings of Canaan, In Taanach, by the waters of Megiddo; Gain of money they took not!" 20 From the heavens they fought:The stars from their highways fought with Sisera. 21 The brook Kishon swept them away, The brook most ancient--the brook Kishon. You do tread down strength, O my soul!" 22 Then broken were the horse-heels, By pransings--pransings of its mighty ones. 23 Curse Meroz--said a messenger of Yahweh, Cursing, curse you its inhabitants, For they came not to the help of Yahweh, To the help of Yahweh among the mighty!" 24 Blessed above women is Jael, Wife of Heber the Kenite, Above women in the tent she is blessed. 25 Water he asked--milk she gave; In a lordly dish she brought near butter. 26 Her hand to the pin she sends forth, And her right hand to the laborers' hammer, And she hammered Sisera--she smote his head, Yea, she smote, and it passed through his temple. 27 Between her feet he bowed--He fell, he lay down; Between her feet he bowed, he fell; Where he bowed, there he fell--destroyed. 28 Through the window she has looked out--Yea, she cries out--the mother of Sisera, Through the lattice:Wherefore is his chariot delaying to come? Wherefore tarried have the steps of his chariot? 29 The wise ones, her princesses, answer her, Yea, she returns her sayings to herself. 30 Do they not find? --they apportion spoil, A female--two females--for every head, Spoil of finger-work for Sisera, Spoil of embroidered finger-work, Finger-work--a pair of embroidered things, For the necks of the spoil!" 31 So do all Your enemies perish, O Yahweh, And those loving Him [are] As the going out of the sun in its might!' and the land rests forty years.

1 Samuel 2:1-10

1 And Hannah prays, and said:`My heart has exulted in Yahweh, My horn has been high in Yahweh, My mouth has been large over mine enemies, For I have rejoiced in Your salvation. 2 There is none holy like Yahweh, For there is none save You, And there is no rock like our Elohim. 3 You multiply not--you speak haughtily--The old saying goes out from your mouth, For a El of knowledge [is] Yahweh, And by Him actions are weighed. 4 Bows of the mighty are broken, And the stumbling have girded on strength. 5 The satiated for bread hired themselves, And the hungry have ceased. While the barren has borne seven, And she abounding with sons has languished. 6 Yahweh puts to death, and keeps alive, He brings down to Sheol, and brings up. 7 Yahweh dispossesses, and He makes rich, He makes low, yea, He makes high. 8 He raises from the dust the poor, From a dunghill He lifts up the needy, To cause [them] to sit with nobles, Yea, a throne of honor He does cause them to inherit, For to Yahweh [are] the fixtures of earth, And He sets on them the habitable world. 9 The feet of His saints He keeps, And the wicked in darkness are silent, For not by power does man become mighty. 10 Yahweh--broken down are His adversaries, Against them in the heavens He thunders:Yahweh judges the ends of earth, And gives strength to His king, And exalts the horn of His anointed..

2 Samuel 22:1-51

1 And David speaks to Yahweh the words of this song in the day Yahweh has delivered him out of the hand of all his enemies, and out of the hand of Saul, 2 and he said:`Yahweh [is] my rock, And my bulwark, and a deliverer to me, 3 My Elohim [is] my rock--I take refuge in Him; My shield, and the horn of my salvation, My high tower, and my refuge! My Saviour, from violence You save me!" 4 The Praised One, I call Yahweh:And from mine enemies I am saved. 5 When the breakers of death compassed me, The streams of the worthless terrify me, 6 The cords of Sheol have surrounded me, Before me have been the snares of death. 7 In mine adversity I call Yahweh, And unto my Elohim I call, And He hears from His temple my voice, And my cry [is] in His ears, 8 And shake and tremble does the earth, Foundations of the heavens are troubled, And are shaken, for He has wrath!" 9 Gone up has smoke by His nostrils. And fire from His mouth devours, Brands have been kindled by it. 10 And He inclines heaven, and comes down, And thick darkness [is] under His feet. 11 And He rides on a cherub, and does fly, And is seen on the wings of the wind. 12 And He sets darkness Round about Him--tabernacles, Darkness of waters--thick clouds of the skies. 13 From the brightness before Him Were brands of fire kindled! 14 Thunder from the heavens does Yahweh, And the Most High gives forth His voice. 15 And He sends forth arrows, And scatters them; Lightning, and troubles them;" 16 And seen are the streams of the sea, Revealed are foundations of the world, By the rebuke of Yahweh, From the breath of the spirit of His anger. 17 He sends from above--He takes me, He draws me out of many waters. 18 He delivers me from my strong enemy, From those hating me, For they were stronger than I. 19 They are before me in a day of my calamity, And Yahweh is my support, 20 And He brings me out to a large place, He draws me out for He delighted in me. 21 Yahweh recompenses me, According to my righteousness, According to the cleanness of my hands, He does return to me. 22 For I have kept the ways of Yahweh, And have not done wickedly against my Elohim. 23 For all His judgments [are] before me, As to His statutes, I turn not from them. 24 And I am perfect before Him, And I keep myself from mine iniquity. 25 And Yahweh returns to me, According to my righteousness, According to my cleanness before His eyes. 26 With the kind You show Yourself kind, With the perfect man You show Yourself perfect, 27 With the pure You show Yourself pure, And with the perverse You show Yourself a wrestler. 28 And the poor people You do save, And Your eyes on the high cause to fall. 29 For You [are] my lamp, O Yahweh, And Yahweh does lighten my darkness. 30 For by You I run--a troop, By my Elohim I leap a wall. 31 El! Perfect [is] His way, The saying of Yahweh is tried, A shield He [is] to all those trusting in Him. 32 For who is El save Yahweh? And who a Rock save our Elohim? 33 El--my bulwark, [my] strength, And He makes perfect my way;" 34 Making my feet like hinds, And on my high places causes me to stand, 35 Teaching my hands for battle, And brought down was a bow of brass by mine arms, 36 And You give to me the shield of Your salvation, And Your lowliness makes me great. 37 You enlarge my step under me, And mine ankles have not slidden. 38 I pursue mine enemies and destroy them, And I turn not till they are consumed. 39 And I consume them, and smite them, And they rise not, and fall under my feet. 40 And You gird me [with] strength for battle, You cause my withstanders to bow under me. 41 And mine enemies--You give to me the neck, Those hating me--and I cut them off. 42 They look, and there is no saviour; Unto Yahweh, and He has not answered them. 43 And I beat them as dust of the earth, As mire of the streets I beat them small--I spread them out!" 44 And--You do deliver me From the strivings of my people, You place me for a head of nations; A people I have not known do serve me. 45 Sons of a stranger feign obedience to me, At the hearing of the ear they hearken to me. 46 Sons of a stranger fade away, And gird themselves by their close places. 47 Yahweh lives, and blessed [is] my Rock, And exalted is my Elohim--The Rock of my salvation. 48 El--who is giving vengeance to me, And bringing down peoples under me, 49 And bringing me forth from mine enemies, Yea, above my withstanders You raise me up. From a man of violence You deliver me. 50 Therefore I confess You, O Yahweh, among nations. And to Your name I sing praise. 51 Magnifying the salvations of His king, And doing loving-kindness to His anointed, To David, and to his seed--unto the eon!.

Psalms 18:32

32 He is the One, El, the One belting me with valor, And He spreads flawlessness on my way,

7 Yahweh is my Strength and my Shield; In Him has my heart trusted, And I have been helped So that my heart is joyous, And with my song am I acclaiming Him." 8 Yahweh is the Strength of His people, And He is the Stronghold of salvation for His anointed."
