Nehemiah 8:2 Cross References - CLV

² And Ezra the priest brings the law before the assembly, both of men and women, and every one intelligent to hear, on the first day of the seventh month,

²⁴ Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, In the seventh month on day one of the month there shall be a cessation for you with a memorial trumpet blasting, a holy meeting.

¹ In the seventh month, on day one of the month you shall come to have a holy meeting when you shall do no occupational work at all; a day of trumpet blast shall you come to have.

¹⁸ It will come to be when he is seated on the throne of his kingdom, that he will write for himself a duplicate of this law on a scroll from the one before the priests, the Levites.

⁹ Then Moses wrote this law and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, the carriers of the coffer of the covenant of Yahweh, and to all the elders of Israel. ¹⁰ And Moses instructed them saying:At the end of seven years, at the appointment of the year of release, at the celebration of booths, ¹¹ when all Israel comes to appear before Yahweh your Elohim in the place that He shall choose, you shall read this law in front of all Israel in their ears. ¹² Assemble the people, the men, the women, the little ones and your sojourner who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn:they must fear Yahweh your Elohim and must observe to keep all the words of this law. ¹³ And their sons, who have not known it, they shall hear; they too must learn to fear Yahweh your Elohim all the days that you are alive on the ground where you are crossing over the Jordan to tenant it.

⁷ And in the third year of his reign he has sent for his heads, for Ben-Hail, and for Obadiah, and for Zechariah, and for Nethaneel, and for Michaiah, to teach in cities of Judah, ⁸ and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, and Nethaniah, and Zebadiah, and Asahel, and Shemiramoth, and Jehonathan, and Adonijah, and Tobijath, and Tob-Adonijah, the Levites; and with them Elishama and Jehoram, the priests. ⁹ And they teach in Judah, and with them [is] the Book of the Law of Yahweh, and they go round about into all cities of Judah, and teach among the people.

⁹ Whom will He direct in knowledge? And to whom will He explain a report? Those weaned from milk. Those pulled away from breasts.

⁷ For the lips of a priest shall keep knowledge, and the law shall they seek from his mouth, for the messenger of Yahweh of hosts is he."

²¹ For Moses, from ancient generations, city by city, has those who are heralding him, being read on every sabbath in the synagogues."
