²⁹ Now immediately after the affliction of those days the sun shall be darkened and the moon shall not be giving her beams, and the stars shall be falling from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken."

¹⁰ For the stars of the heavens are not appearing, and their constellations are not irradiating their light. Dark is the sun in its faring forth, and the moon is not brightening with its light."

²³ And the brick will melt, and the wall will fall, for Yahweh of hosts is King in mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and in front of His elders is He glorified."

⁴ All the host of the heavens shall decay, and rolled up as a scroll are the heavens, and all their host shall decay as decays the leaf from the vine, and as a decaying leaf from the fig tree."

²³ I looked [to] the land, and lo, waste and void, And unto the heavens, and their light is not." ²⁴ I have looked [to] the mountains, And lo, they are trembling. And all the hills moved themselves lightly." ²⁵ I have looked, and lo, man is not, And all fowls of the heavens have fled." ²⁶ I have looked, and lo, The fruitful place [is] a wilderness, And all its cities have been broken down, Because of Yahweh, Because of the fierceness of His anger." ²⁷ For thus said Yahweh:All the land is a desolation, but a completion I make not." ²⁸ For this does the land mourn, And black have been the heavens above, because I have spoken--I have purposed, And I have not repented, Nor do I turn back from it."

⁷ And in quenching you I have covered the heavens, And have made black their stars, The sun with a cloud I do cover, And the moon causes not its light to shine." ⁸ All luminaries of light in the heavens, I make black over you, And I have given darkness over your land, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh,

¹¹ Perceiving am I then--because of the sound of the monstrous matters that the horn is declaring--perceiving am I till the animal is despatched, destroyed is her frame and granted to the glowing fire." ¹² And the remainder of the animals--their authority is caused to pass away, yet a lengthening of life is granted to them till the stated time and season."

¹⁰ Before it the earth is disturbed; the heavens quake, the sun and the moon are somber, and the stars gather in their brightness."

³⁰ And I will give miracles in the heavens above, and signs on the earth, blood and fire and pillars of smoke." ³¹ The sun shall be turned to darkness, and the moon to blood, before the coming of the day of Yahweh, the great and fearful day."

¹⁵ The sun and the moon are somber, and the stars gather in their brightness."

²⁰ Shall not the day of Yahweh be darkness, and not light? And gloom, and no brightness to it?

⁹ And it comes in that day (averring is my Lord Yahweh) that I will bring in the sun at noon, and I will darken the land in daylight;"

¹⁴ Near is the great day of Yahweh! Near and exceedingly swift! The sound of the day of Yahweh! The master shall shriek there bitterly. ¹⁵ A day of rage is that day, a day of distress and constraint, a day of futility and futile effort, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of cloud and murkiness,

⁸ Yet all these are the beginning of pangs.

²¹ for then shall be great affliction, such as has not occurred from the beginning of the world till now; neither under any circumstances may be occurring."

²⁴ But in those days, after that affliction, the sun shall be darkened, ²⁵ and the moon shall not be giving her beams, and the stars shall be falling out of heaven, and the powers in the heavens shall be shaken."

²⁵ And there shall be signs in the sun and the moon and the constellations, and on the earth pressure of nations in perplexity, at the resounding of the sea and the shaking, ²⁶ at the chilling of men from fear and apprehensiveness of that which is coming on the inhabited earth, for the powers of the heavens shall be shaken."

¹⁹ And I will give miracles in heaven above, And signs on the earth below, Blood and fire and vapor pillars of smoke, ²⁰ The sun shall be converted into darkness And the moon into blood Ere the coming of the day of the Lord, The great and advent day."

¹⁰ Now the day of the Lord will be arriving as a thief, in which the heavens shall be passing by with a booming noise, yet the elements shall be dissolved by combustion, and the earth and the works in it shall be found."

¹² And I perceived, when It opens the sixth seal, and a great cataclysm occurred, and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the whole moon became as blood, ¹³ and the stars of heaven fall on the earth as a fig tree is casting its shriveled figs, quaking under a great wind." ¹⁴ And heaven recoils as a scroll rolling up, and every mountain and island was moved out of its place." ¹⁵ And the kings of the earth, and the magnates, and the captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every slave and freeman, hide themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains." ¹⁶ And they are saying to the mountains and to the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of Him Who is sitting on the throne, and from the indignation of the Lambkin, ¹⁷ for the great day of Their indignation came, and who is able to stand?

¹² And the fourth messenger trumpets. And a third of the sun and a third of the moon and a third of the stars were eclipsed, that a third of them may be darkened, and the day may not be appearing for a third of it, and the night likewise."
