¹⁴ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He gives them into the hand of spoilers, and they spoil them, and He sells them into the hand of their enemies round about, and they have not been able any more to stand before their enemies;"

²⁸ then I will go contrary to you in fury. And I Myself, indeed, will discipline you sevenfold for your sins.

³⁷ They will stumble, a man over his brother, as though in view of the sword when there is no pursuer, and you shall come to have no standing space before your enemies.

¹⁴ And behold, you have risen in your fathers' stead as a vast brood of sinful men to be swept up again on account of the heat of Yahweh's anger toward Israel!"

²⁰ Yahweh shall send the curse, the discomfiture and the rebuke on you in every undertaking of your hand that you shall do, until you are exterminated and you perish quickly, in view of the evil of your actions in which you have forsaken Me.

²⁵ Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth.

⁵⁸ Should you not observe to obey all the words of this law, the ones written in this scroll, to fear the name of this glorified and fear-inspiring One, Yahweh your Elohim,

¹⁹ And it will come to be when he hears the words of this imprecation that he will bless himself in his heart, saying:I shall come to have peace, though I am going in the obduracy of my own heart, seeing that the satiated may be swept up with the thirsty. ²⁰ Yahweh shall not be willing to pardon him, because then Yahweh's anger and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the imprecation that is written in this scroll will lie on him. Yahweh will wipe out his name from under the heavens;"

¹⁷ My anger will grow hot against them on that day, and I will forsake them and conceal My face from them; then they will come to be devoured, and many evils and distresses will find them. Then they will say on that day:Is it not because our Elohim is not among us that these evils have found us? ¹⁸ Yet I shall conceal, yea conceal My face from them on that day on account of all the evil which they will have done, for they will have turned around to other elohim.

³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them?

¹² and the sons of Israel have not been able to stand before their enemies; the neck they turn before their enemies, for they have become a devoted thing; I add not to be with you--if you destroy not the devoted thing out of your midst. ¹³ `Rise, sanctify the people, and you have said, Sanctify yourselves for to-morrow; for thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, A devoted thing [is] in your midst, O Israel, you are not able to stand before your enemies till your turning aside of the devoted thing out of your midst;"

¹⁹ and Yahweh is with Judah, and he occupies the hill-country, but not to dispossess the inhabitants of the valley, for they have chariots of iron.

³⁴ And the Amorites press the sons of Dan to the mountain, for they have not suffered them to go down to the valley;"

⁷ and the sons of Israel do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and forget Yahweh their Elohim, and serve the Baalim and the shrines. ⁸ And the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He sells them into the hand of Chushan-Rishathaim king of Aram-Naharaim, and the sons of Israel serve Chushan-Rishathaim eight years;"

² and Yahweh sells them into the hand of Jabin king of Canaan, who has reigned in Hazor, and the head of his host [is] Sisera, and he is dwelling in Harosheth of the Goyim;"

⁷ and the anger of Yahweh burns against Israel, and He sells them into the hand of the Philistines, and into the hand of the Bene-Ammon,

²⁰ And Yahweh kicks against all the seed of Israel, and afflicts them, and gives them into the hand of spoilers, till that He has cast them out of His presence,

⁵ and in those times there is no peace to him who is going out, and to him who is coming in, for many troubles [are] on all the inhabitants of the lands,

¹⁶ and they are mocking at the messengers of Elohim, and despising His words, and acting deceitfully with His prophets, till the going up of the fury of Yahweh against His people--till there is no healing.

⁹ Yet indeed, now You have cast us off and are mortifying us; You do not go forth, O Elohim, among our hosts." ¹⁰ You reverse us backward from the foe, And those hating us rob for themselves."

¹² You sell Your people, yet not for wealth; Nor are You increased by the price for them."

⁴⁰ So the anger of Yahweh grew hot against His people, And He abhorred His allotment." ⁴¹ He gave them into the hand of the nations So that those hating them ruled among them. ⁴² Their enemies oppressed them, And they were made to submit under their hand."

¹ Thus says Yahweh, "Where is this scroll of divorce of your mother, with which I let her go? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I sold you? Behold! For your depravities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother sent away."

¹⁰ for though you had smitten all the force of the Chaldeans who are fighting with you, and there were left of them wounded men--each in his tent--they rise, and have burnt this city with fire.'"
