³⁴ And they come in over against Gibeah--ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel--and the battle [is] grievous, and they have not known that the evil is striking against them.

¹⁴ And it comes to pass, when the king of Ai sees [it], that hasten, and rise early, and go out do the men of the city to meet Israel for battle, he and all his people, at the appointed season, at the front of the plain, and he has not known that an ambush [is] against him, on the rear of the city.

¹³ They finish their days in good, And they settle down in a quiet moment to the unseen.

¹⁹ The way of the wicked is like gloom; They do not know at what they stumble.

⁶ In the transgression of an evil man is a trap, Yet the righteous one may run and rejoice."

¹¹ Because there is no sentence executed quickly against the evil deed, Therefore the heart of the sons of humanity in them is fully given to do evil." ¹² Though a sinner does a hundred evils and days are prolonged for him, Yet I know that good shall come to those fearful of the One, Elohim, Who fear before Him."

¹² For, moreover, a man does not know his season; Like fish that are held in a vicious weir, And like birds that are held in a snare, So the sons of humanity themselves are trapped by a season of evil, When it falls on them suddenly."

¹⁰ Say to the righteous that good is his portion, for the fruit of their actions are they eating." ¹¹ Alack to the wicked one; evil is his portion, for the requital of his hands is returning to him."

¹¹ And evil comes on you. And you are not knowing of the pitfall. And woe shall fall on you. You cannot shelter yourself from it. And coming on you is devastation, and you cannot become clear. And coming on you suddenly is futility, when you shall not know it."

⁴⁴ Therefore you also become ready, for in an hour which you are not supposing, the Son of Mankind is coming."

³⁴ Now take heed to yourselves, lest at some time your hearts should be burdened with crapulence and drunkenness and the worries of life's affairs, and that day may be standing by you unawares,

³ Now whenever they may be saying "Peace and security,then extermination is standing by them unawares, even as a pang over the pregnant, and they may by no means escape."
