Joel 2:1 Cross References - CLV

¹ Blow the trumpet in Zion! And shout in My holy mountain! All the dwellers of the land shall be disturbed, for coming is the day of Yahweh! For it is near!"

³ When they blow long on both of them, then the whole congregation will congregate with you at the opening of the tent of appointment.

⁵ When you blow a short blast then the camps encamping eastward will journey. ⁶ When you blow the second blast then the camps encamping southward will journey. When you blow the third blast then the camps encamping westward will journey. When you blow the fourth blast then the camps encamping northward will journey. Short blasts shall they blow for their decampings; ⁷ yet when the assembly is to assemble you shall blow long and not sound short blasts. ⁸ The sons of Aaron, the priests, shall blow the bugles. And they will be to you as an eonian statute throughout your generations. ⁹ In case you enter a war in your land with the foe who is distressing you then you will blast on the bugles, and you will be remembered before Yahweh your Elohim, and you will be saved from your enemies.

²⁸ And all Israel are bringing up the ark of the covenant of Yahweh with shouting, and with the sound of a cornet, and with trumpets, and with cymbals, sounding with psalteries and harps,

³ When I heard about this matter, I tore my garment and my robe and scraped some of the hair of my head and my beard and sat down in desolation. ⁴ Around me were gathering all those trembling at the words of the Elohim of Israel on account of the offense of the sons of deportation. And I continued sitting in desolation until the evening approach present.

¹²⁰ My flesh bristles from awe of You, And I fear Your judgments."

¹² For a day for Yahweh of hosts is on everyone proud and high, and on everyone lifted up, and abased is he."

² Yet all these were made by My hand, and all these are coming to be Mine,averring is Yahweh. "Yet to this one will I look:to the humble and smitten spirit, and he who trembles at My word."

⁵ Hear the word of Yahweh, you who tremble at His word, "Say do your brethren, who are hating you, who are isolating you on account of My name, `Yahweh will be glorified!' Yet He will appear in your rejoicing, and they shall be ashamed."

⁵ Declare in Judah, and in Jerusalem sound, And say you, `Blow a trumpet in the land,' Call you fully, and say you:`Be gathered, and we go in to the fenced city.'"

²² Me do you not fear, an affirmation of Yahweh? From My presence are you not pained? Who has made sand the border of the sea, A limit eonian, and it passes not over it, They shake themselves, and they are not able, Yea, sounded have its billows, and they pass not over."

⁷ Nor do they deal out to them for mourning, To comfort him concerning the dead, Nor cause them to drink a cup of consolations For his father and for his mother."

¹⁰ And it has come to pass when you declare to this people all these words, and they have said unto you, `For what has Yahweh spoken against us all this great evil? yea, what [is] our iniquity, and what our sin, that we have sinned against Yahweh our Elohim?'"

⁵ Thus said the Lord Yahweh:Evil, a single evil, lo, it has come." ⁶ An end has come, come has the end, It has waked for you, lo, it has come." ⁷ Come has the morning unto you, O inhabitant of the land! Come has the time, near [is] a day of trouble, And not the shouting of mountains."

¹⁰ Lo, the day, lo, it has come, Gone forth has the morning, Blossomed has the rod, flourished the pride."

¹² Come has the time, arrived has the day, The buyer does not rejoice, And the seller does not become a mourner, For wrath [is] unto all its multitude."

²³ therefore say unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:I have caused this simile to cease, And they use it not as a simile again in Israel, But speak to them:Drawn near have the days, And spoken has every vision."

³ And he has seen the sword coming against the land, And has blown with a trumpet, and has warned the people,

⁶ And the watchman, when he sees the sword coming in, And he has not blown with a trumpet, And the people has not been warned, And come in does a sword, And takes away of them--a soul, He in his iniquity is taken away, And his blood from the hand of the watchman I require."

²⁶ From before me is promulgated this decree:In every authority of my kingdom be they stirred and terrified before Daniel's Eloah:He is the living Eloah and is set up for the eons. His kingdom shall not come to harm and His jurisdiction is till the terminus.

¹⁶ My Lord, according to all Thy righteousness, pray, let Thy anger and Thy fury turn away from Thy city Jerusalem, Thy holy mountain. Because of our sins and depravities--ours and our forefathers--Jerusalem and Thy people, Lord, are a reproach to all around us."

²⁰ And while I am speaking-- praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and casting my supplication before Yahweh my Elohim concerning the holy mountain of my Elohim--

⁸ Blow a trumpet in Gibeah! A bugle in Ramah! Shout in Beth-aven:Look behind you, Benjamin!"

¹ To your mouth with the trumpet! One as a vulture is over the house of Yahweh, because they trespass against My covenant, and against My law they transgress."

¹⁵ Alas! Alas! Alas for the day! For near is the day of Yahweh. And as devastation from Him Who-Suffices is it coming.

¹⁵ Blow the trumpet in Zion! Hallow a fast! Proclaim a time of restraint!

¹⁷ And you shall know that I am Yahweh, your Elohim, tabernacling in Zion, My holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall come to be a holy city, and aliens shall pass in her no longer."

⁶ Would a trumpet be blown in a city, and the people not tremble? Would there come to be evil in a city, and Yahweh not have done it?

² And he is saying, What are you seeing Amos? And I am saying, A crate of summer fruit. And Yahweh is saying to me, The end comes for My people Israel. I will not continue still to pass by them,

¹⁵ For near is the day of Yahweh over all the nations. Just as you do, it shall be done to you. Your requital shall return on your own head."

¹⁴ Near is the great day of Yahweh! Near and exceedingly swift! The sound of the day of Yahweh! The master shall shriek there bitterly.

¹⁶ a day of trumpet and blast against the defended cities, and against the lofty corners."

¹¹ In that day you shall not be ashamed of all your practices, in which you transgressed against Me, for then will I take away from within you those who are joyous in your pride, and you shall not continue further to be haughty in My holy mountain."

³ Thus says Yahweh:I return to Zion, and I tabernacle in the midst of Jerusalem, and Jerusalem is called the city of truth, and the mountain of Yahweh of hosts, the holy mountain."

¹ For behold! The day of Yahweh is coming, consuming as a stove, and it devours them. And all the arrogant and all doing wickedness become straw. And the coming day sets them aflame, says Yahweh of hosts, which will not leave to them root or bough."

¹² So that, my beloved, according as you always obey, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, with fear and trembling, be carrying your own salvation into effect,

² for you yourselves are accurately aware that the day of the Lord is as a thief in the night - thus is it coming!

⁸ You also, then, be patient; establish your hearts, for the presence of the Lord is near."

⁷ Now the consummation of all is near. Be sane, then, and sober for prayers,
