⁹ Under a multitude of extortions they cry out; They implore under the arm of those with great power.

²³ In the course of these many days it came to be that the king of Egypt died. Yet the sons of Israel sighed under the servitude and cried out, and their imploration ascended to the One, Elohim, out of the servitude.

⁷ Then Yahweh said: I see, yea see the humiliation of My people who are in Egypt. And I hear their crying because of the presence of their exactors; for I know their pains.

⁹ And now, behold, the cry of the sons of Israel has come to Me, and indeed, I have seen the oppression with which Egypt has been oppressing them.

¹ And there is a great cry of the people and their wives, concerning their brethren the Jews, ² yea, there are who are saying, `Our sons, and our daughters, we--are many, and we receive corn, and eat, and live.. <sup>3</sup> And there are who are saying, `Our fields, and our vineyards, and our houses, we are pledging, and we receive corn for the famine.. ⁴ And there are who are saying, `We have borrowed money for the tribute of the king, [on] our fields, and our vineyards;" ⁵ and now, as the flesh of our brethren [is] our flesh, as their sons [are] our sons, and lo, we are subduing our sons and our daughters for servants, and there are of our daughters subdued, and our hand has no might, and our fields and our vineyards [are] to others..

¹⁹ Causing priests to go forth looted, He also overthrows the well-established.

¹² In the city the dying moan, And the soul of the wounded implores for help; Yet Eloah, He does not place charges of impropriety.

²⁸ But they caused the cry of the poor to be brought before Him, So that He heard the cry of the humble.

⁹ Do you have an arm like El's? And can you thunder with a voice like His?

¹⁵ Break the arm of the wicked and evil one; May You inquire into his wickedness until You find no more.

⁵ Because of the devastation of the humbled, Because of the groaning of the needy, Now I shall arise, says Yahweh; I shall set him in safety; I shall shine forth for him.

² For You are the Elohim of my stronghold; Why have You cast me off? Why must I walk in somberness under the oppression of the enemy?

² Do attend to me and answer me; I am pressed down by my concern. ³ And I am discomfited by the voice of the enemy, Because of the pressure of the wicked. For they are slipping lawlessness upon me And are assailing me in anger."

Yet, after this, he said in himself, 'Even if I am not fearing God nor respecting man, ⁵ surely, because of the weariness this widow is affording me, I shall be avenging her, lest she, coming, may belabor me into a consummation.'" ⁶ Now the Lord said, "Hear what the unjust judge is saying." ⁷ Yet should not God by all means be doing the avenging of His chosen ones, who are imploring Him day and night? And He is patient with them."
