⁴² Bow and halbert they seize, Cruel [are] they, and they have no mercy, Their voice as a sea sounds, and on horses they ride, Set in array as a man for battle, Against you, O daughter of Babylon."

⁶ The nations clamor; the kingdoms slip; He will give forth His voice; the earth shall dissolve.

²⁰ Look to Your covenant, For haunts of violence fill the dark places of the land."

⁸ Daughter of Babylon, the devastator, Happy is he who shall repay you With your dealing which you dealt to us." ⁹ Happy is he who shall hold and shatter your unweaned children Against the crag.

²⁸ whose arrows are whetted, and all their bows are bent. The hoofs of his horses as rock are reckoned, and his chariot wheels as a sweeping whirlwind."

³⁰ And he is growling over him in that day as the growling of the billowing sea. And behold! Darkness, distress, and the light is kept back in terror."

¹⁷ Behold Me rousing against them the Medes, who are not accounting silver, and gold--they are not delighting in it." ¹⁸ And with bows they are dashing the youths to pieces, and on the fruit of the belly they are not having compassion. And over the sons their eye is not commiserating."

⁶ Smitten are peoples in a rage, a smiting barring withdrawal. Swaying, in anger, over nations, pursuing, failing to keep back."

⁶ I was wroth over My people, and I violated My allotment, and was giving them into your hand, yet you show them no compassion. On the old you make your yoke exceedingly heavy."

²² Thus said Yahweh:Lo, a people has come from a north country, And a great nation is stirred up from the sides of the earth." ²³ Bow and javelin they take hold of, Fierce it [is], and they have no mercy, Their voice as a sea does sound, And on horses they ride, set in array as a man of war, Against you, O daughter of Zion."

¹⁶ From Dan has been heard the snorting of his horses, From the voice of the neighings of his mighty ones, Trembled has all the land, And they come in and consume the land and its fulness, The city and the inhabitants in it."

³ From the sound of the stamping of the hoofs of his mighty ones, From the rushing of his chariot, the noise of his wheels, Fathers have not turned unto sons, From feebleness of hands,

¹⁴ Set yourselves in array against Babylon round about, All you treading a bow, Shoot at her, have no pity on the arrow, For against Yahweh she has sinned."

⁶ For, behold Me raising the Chaldeans, the bitter and hasty nation, going the widths of the earth to tenant tabernacles not his own." ⁷ Dreadful and fearful is he! His judgment and his dignity are faring forth from him. ⁸ His horses are fleeter than leopards and sharper than evening wolves, and his horsemen are diffused; and his horsemen will come from far. They will fly as a vulture that hurries to eat."

¹³ For the judging is merciless to him who does not exercise mercy. Vaunting is mercy against judging.

⁶ for they shed the blood of saints and prophets, and Thou dost give them blood to drink, even what they are deserving!"

¹⁴ And the armies in heaven, dressed in cambric, white and clean, followed Him on white horses." ¹⁵ And out of His mouth a sharp blade is issuing, that with it He should be smiting the nations. And He will be shepherding them with an iron club. And He is treading the wine trough of the fury of the indignation of God, the Almighty." ¹⁶ And on His cloak and on His thigh He has a name written: "King of kings and Lord of lords." ¹⁷ And I perceived another messenger, standing in the sun. And he cries with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which are flying in mid-heaven, "Hither! Be gathered for the great dinner of God, ¹⁸ that you may be eating the flesh of kings, and the flesh of captains, and the flesh of the strong, and the flesh of horses and of those sitting on them, and the flesh of all freemen as well as slaves, and of small and of great."
