22 And the people that is left in the land of Judah whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has left--he appoints over them Gedaliah son of Ahikam, son of Shaphan. 23 And all the heads of the forces hear--they and the men--that the king of Babylon has appointed Gedaliah, and they come in unto Gedaliah, to Mizpah, even Ishmael son of Nethaniah, and Johanan son of Kareah, and Seraiah son of Tanhumeth the Netophathite, and Jaazaniah son of the Maachathite--they and their men;" 24 and Gedaliah swears to them, and to their men, and said to them, `Be not afraid of the servants of the Chaldeans, dwell in the land and serve the king of Babylon, and it is good for you.. 25 And it comes to pass, in the seventh month, come has Ishmael son of Nathaniah, son of Elishama of the seed of the kingdom, and ten men with him, and they smite Gedaliah, and he dies, and the Jews and the Chaldeans who have been with him in Mizpah. 26 And all the people rise, from small even unto great, and the heads of the forces, and come in to Egypt, for they have been afraid of the presence of the Chaldeans.

Jeremiah 39:4

4 And it comes to pass, when Zedekiah king of Judah, and all the men of war, have seen them, that they flee and go forth by night from the city, the way of the king's garden, through the gate between the two walls, and he goes forth the way of the plain."

Jeremiah 39:10

10 And of the poor people, who have nothing, has Nebuzar-Adan, chief of the executioners, left in the land of Judah, and he gives to them vineyards and fields on the same day."

Ezekiel 33:24-29

And they who [are] on the face of the field, To the beast I have given for food, And they who are in strongholds and in caves by pestilence die." 28 And I have made the land a desolation and an astonishment, And ceased has the excellency of its strength, And desolated have been mountains of Israel, Without any one passing through." 29 And they have known that I [am] Yahweh, In My making the land a desolation and an astonishment, For all their abominations that they have done."

Ezekiel 45:16

16 All the people of the land are at this heave-offering for the prince in Israel.
