¹⁹ And where [are] your prophets who prophesied to you, saying, The king of Babylon does not come in against you, and against this land?

³⁶ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people and show Himself merciful over His servants when He sees that the power of their hand has departed and has become nil for both the restrained and the ones set free. ³⁷ Then Yahweh will ask:Where are their elohim, the rock in whom they took refuge,

¹³ And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, `What--to me and to you? go unto the prophets of your father, and unto the prophets of your mother;' and the king of Israel said to him, `Nay, for Yahweh has called for these three kings to give them into the hand of Moab..

²⁸ And where [are] your elohims, that you have made to yourself? Let them arise, if they may save you, In the time of your vexation, For--the number of your cities have been your elohims, O Judah,

¹⁴ And they heal the breach of the daughter of my people slightly, Saying, `Peace, peace!' and there is no peace."

¹³ And I say, `Ah, Lord Yahweh, Lo, the prophets are saying to them:You do not see a sword, yea, famine is not to you, For true peace I give to you in this place.'" ¹⁴ And Yahweh said unto me:Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them:A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you." ¹⁵ Therefore, thus said Yahweh concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, and I have not sent them, and they are saying, Sword and famine is not in this land:By sword and by famine are these prophets consumed."

¹⁷ Saying diligently to those despising The word of Yahweh:Peace is for you, And [to] every one walking in the stubbornness of his heart they have said:Evil does not come in unto you."

¹⁴ `And you do not hearken unto the words of the prophets who are speaking unto you, saying, You do not serve the king of Babylon, --for falsehood they are prophesying to you." <sup>15</sup> For I have not sent them--an affirmation of Yahweh--and they are prophesying in My name falsely, so as to drive you out, and you have perished, you, and the prophets who are prophesying to you.'" <sup>16</sup> And unto the priests, and unto all this people, I have spoken, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, You do not hearken unto the words of your prophets, who are prophesying to you, saying, Lo, the vessels of the house of Yahweh are brought back from Babylon now in haste, for falsehood they are prophesying to you." ¹⁷ You do not hearken unto them, serve the king of Babylon, and live. Why is this city a waste? ¹⁸ `And, if they be prophets, and if a word of Yahweh be with them, let them intercede, I pray you, with Yahweh of Hosts, so that the vessels that are left in the house of Yahweh, and [in] the house of the king of Judah, and in Jerusalem, have not gone into Babylon."

¹ And it comes to pass, in that year, in the beginning of the reign of Zedekiah king of Judah, in the fourth year, in the fifth month, spoken unto me has Hananiah son of Azur the prophet, who [is] of Gibeon, in the house of Yahweh, before the eyes of the priests, and all the people, saying, ² `Thus spoke Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, saying, I have broken the yoke of the king of Babylon;" ³ Within two years of days I am bringing back unto this place all the vessels of the house of Yahweh that Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon has taken from this place, and does carry to Babylon, ⁴ And Jeconiah son of Jehoiakim, king of Judah, and all the removed of Judah, who are entering Babylon, I am bringing back unto this place--an affirmation of Yahweh; for I do break the yoke of the king of Babylon.'" ⁵ And Jeremiah the prophet said unto Hananiah the prophet, before the eyes of the priests, and before the eyes of all the people who are standing in the house of Yahweh,

¹⁰ And Hananiah the prophet takes the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, and breaks it, ¹¹ And Hananiah speaks before the eyes of all the people, saying, `Thus said Yahweh, Thus I break the yoke of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, within two years of days, from off the neck of all the nations;' and Jeremiah the prophet goes on his way." <sup>12</sup> And there is a word of Yahweh unto Jeremiah after the breaking, by Hananiah the prophet, of the yoke from off the neck of Jeremiah the prophet, saying, <sup>13</sup> `Go, and you have spoken unto Hananiah, saying, Thus said Yahweh, Yokes of wood you have broken, and I have made instead of them yokes of iron;" ¹⁴ For thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel, A yoke of iron I have put on the neck of all these nations to serve Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, and they have served him, and also the beast of the field I have given to him.'" ¹⁵ And Jeremiah the prophet said unto Hananiah the prophet, `Hear, I pray you, O Hananiah; Yahweh has not sent you, and you have caused this people to trust on falsehood." ¹⁶ Therefore thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am casting you from off the face of the ground; this year you die, for apostasy you have spoken concerning Yahweh.'" ¹⁷ And Hananiah the prophet dies in that year, in the seventh month."

³¹ `Send unto all the removal, saying, Thus said Yahweh concerning Shemaiah the Nehelamite, Because that Shemaiah prophesied to you, and I--I have not sent him, and he does cause you to trust on falsehood,

¹⁴ Your prophets envision for you futility and trumpery, And they do not expose your depravity to reverse your captivity, But they are envisioning for you loads of futility and false inducements."

¹⁰ Because, even because, they did cause My people to err, Saying, Peace! and there is no peace, And that one is building a wall, And lo, they are daubing it with chalk." ¹¹ Say to those daubing with chalk--It falls, There has been an overflowing shower, And you, O hailstones, do fall, And a tempestuous wind does rend, ¹² And lo, fallen has the wall! Does not one say unto you, Where [is] the daubing that you daubed? ¹³ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:I have rent with a tempestuous wind in My fury, And an overflowing shower is in Mine anger, And hailstones in My fury--to consume." ¹⁴ And I have broken down the wall that you daubed with chalk, And have caused it to come unto the earth, And revealed has been its foundation, And it has fallen, And you have been consumed in its midst, And you have known that I [am] Yahweh." ¹⁵ And I have completed My wrath on the wall, And on those daubing it with chalk, And I say to you:The wall is not, And those daubing it are not;" ¹⁶ The prophets of Israel who are prophesying concerning Jerusalem, And who are seeing for her a vision of peace, And there is no peace, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."
