And Ziba said unto the king, `Jonathan has yet a son--lame.. <sup>4</sup> And the king said to him, `Where [is] he?' and Ziba said unto the king, `Lo, he [is] in the house of Machir, son of Ammiel, in Lo-Debar.. <sup>5</sup> And king David sends, and takes him out of the house of Machir son of Ammiel, of Lo-Debar, <sup>6</sup> and Mephibosheth son of Jonathan, son of Saul, comes unto David, and falls on his face, and does obeisance, and David said, `Mephibosheth;' and he said, `Lo, your servant.. <sup>7</sup> And David said to him, `Be not afraid; for I certainly do with you kindness because of Jonathan your father, and have given back to you all the field of Saul your father, and you do eat bread at my table continually.. ⁸ And he bows himself, and said, `What [is] your servant, that you have turned unto the dead dog--such as I?. <sup>9</sup> And the king calls unto Ziba servant of Saul, and said unto him, `All that was to Saul and to all his house, I have given to the son of your lord, ¹⁰ and you have served for him the land, you and your sons, and your servants, and have brought in, and there has been to the son of your lord bread, and he has eaten it; and Mephibosheth son of your lord does eat continually bread at my table;' and Ziba has fifteen sons and twenty servants. ¹¹ And Ziba said unto the king, `According to all that my lord the king commands his servant, so does your servant;' as to Mephibosheth, `he is eating at my table ([said the king]) as one of the sons of the king.. ¹² And Mephibosheth has a young son, and his name [is] Micha, and every one dwelling in the house of Ziba [are] servants to Mephibosheth. ¹³ And Mephibosheth is dwelling in Jerusalem, for at the table of the king he is eating continually, and he [is] lame of his two feet.

¹⁶ If I have withheld the desire of the poor And have caused the eyes of the widow to fail, ¹⁷ And I have eaten my morsel by myself alone, So that the orphan could not eat of i. ¹⁸ (Indeed from my youth he grew great as with a father, And from the belly of my mother I have guided her), ¹⁹ If I have seen anyone perishing from lack of clothing, And there was no covering for the needy, ²⁰ If his loins did not bless me, Since he was warmed with the fleece of my lambs, ²¹ If I have waved my hand against the orphan Because I saw my backing was in the gate,

⁹ He disperses; he gives to the needy; His righteousness is standing into the future; His horn shall be exalted in glory.

²⁴ There is one who disperses yet is enhanced more, And another who keeps back more than what is upright yet ends only with a lack." ²⁵ The soul who gives a blessing is conferred with richness, And he who waters, he himself shall be watered also."

³³ And if you should be doing good to those doing good to you, what thanks is it to you? For sinners also are doing the same." ³⁴ And if you should ever be lending to those from whom you are expecting to get back, what thanks is it to you? For sinners also are lending to sinners, that they may get back the equivalent." ³⁵ Moreover, be loving your enemies, and be doing good, and be lending, expecting nothing from them, and your wages will be vast in the heavens, and you will be sons of the Most High, for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked."

³⁹ Now Peter, rising, came together with them, whom, coming along, they led up into the upper chamber. And beside him stand all the widows, lamenting and exhibiting tunics and garments, whatever Dorcas made while she was with them."

²⁹ Now according as any of the disciples thrived, each of them designate something to send to the brethren dwelling in Judea, for dispensing;" ³⁰ which they do also, dispatching to the elders through the hand of Barnabas and Saul."

² for, in a test of much affliction, the superabundance of their joy and the corresponding depth of their poverty superabounds to the riches of their generosity,

⁶ yet as this: who is sowing sparingly, sparingly shall be reaping also, and who is sowing bountifully, bountifully shall be reaping also, ⁷ each according as he has proposed in his heart, not sorrowfully, nor of compulsion, for the gleeful giver is loved by God." ⁸ Now God is able to lavish all grace on you, that, having all contentment in everything always, you may be superabounding in every good work, ⁹ according as it is written, He scatters, He gives to the drudges, His righteousness remains for the eon." ¹⁰ Now may He Who is supplying seed to the sower, and bread for food, be furnishing and multiplying your seed and be making the product of your righteousness grow, ¹¹ being enriched in everything, for all the generosity, which is producing through us thanksgiving to God,
