⁵ and the land is polluted under its dwellers. For they trespass against the laws; they vary the statute; they annul the covenant eonian.

¹⁷ And to the human He says, "As you hearken to the voice of your wife, and are eating from the tree of which alone I instruct you, saying not eat shall you from it, cursed shall be the ground when you serve it, for your sakes. In grief shall you eat of it all the days of your lives. ¹⁸ And thorns and weeds shall it sprout for you, and you shall eat the herbage of the field.

¹¹ And being ruined is the earth before the Elohim, and being filled is the earth with wrong. ¹² And seeing is Yahweh Elohim the earth, and behold! Ruined is it, for ruining is all flesh its way on the earth. ¹³ And saying is the Elohim to Noah, "The era of the end of all human flesh is come before Me, for full is the earth with wrong because of their presence. Now behold Me ruining them with the earth.

¹³ With circumcision shall be circumcised the homeborn and the one acquired with your money. And My covenant comes to be in your flesh for a covenant eonian. ¹⁴ And the uncircumcised male, the flesh of whose foreskin was not circumcised in the eighth day, that soul also shall be cut off from his people. My covenant he annuls.

²⁴ Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways. For in all of these the nations which I am dismissing before your face are defiled. ²⁵ Since the land is unclean I shall visit its depravity on it, and the land shall vomit out its dwellers. ²⁶ As for you, you will observe My statutes and My judgments, and not do any of these abhorrences, either the native or the sojourner sojourning in your mids. ²⁷ (for the men of the land who were before you have done all these abhorrences, and the land is unclean), ²⁸ so that the land shall not vomit you out when you defile it, just as it vomited out the nations which were before you.

²² You shall observe all My statutes and all My judgments and keep them so that the land, where I am bringing you to dwell in it, shall not vomit you out.

³³ You shall not pollute the land in which you are dwelling; for it is the blood that pollutes the land. As for the land, no shelter may be made for the blood which was shed on it save by the blood of him who shed it. ³⁴ You shall not defile the land in which you are dwelling, in whose midst I am tabernacling, for I, Yahweh, am tabernacling in the midst of the sons of Israel.

¹⁵ When Yeshurun grew stout and kicked (you will be stout, thick and burly), then he abandoned Eloah Who had made him and disgraced the Rock of his salvation.

²⁰ And he said:Let Me conceal My face from them; I shall examine what their latter days are to be. For they are a wayward generation, sons with no faithfulness in them.

²⁵ And Joshua makes a covenant with the people on that day, and lays on it a statute and an ordinance, in Shechem.

⁵ For--not so [is] my house with El; For--a covenant eonian He made with me, Arranged in all things, and kept; For--all my salvation, and all desire, For--He has not caused [it] to spring up.

⁷ And it comes to pass, because the sons of Israel have sinned against Yahweh their Elohim--who brings them up out of the land of Egypt, from under the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt--and fear other elohims, ⁸ and walk in the statutes of the nations that Yahweh dispossessed from the presence of the sons of Israel, and of the kings of Israel that they made;" ⁹ and the sons of Israel do covertly things that [are] not right against Yahweh their Elohim, and build for them high places in all their cities, from a tower of the watchers unto the fenced city, ¹⁰ and set up for them standing-pillars and shrines on every high height, and under every green tree, ¹¹ and make perfume there in all high places, like the nations that Yahweh removed from their presence, and do evil things to provoke Yahweh, ¹² and serve the idols, of which Yahweh said to them, `You do not do this thing;. <sup>13</sup> And Yahweh testifies against Israel, and against Judah, by the hand of every prophet, and every seer, saying, `Turn back from your evil ways, and keep My commands, My statutes, according to all the law that I commanded your fathers, and that I sent unto you by the hand of My servants the prophets;. ¹⁴ and they have not hearkened, and harden their neck, like the neck of their fathers, who did not remain stedfast in Yahweh their Elohim, ¹⁵ and reject His statutes and His covenant that He made with their fathers, and His testimonies that He testified against them, and go after the vain thing, and become vain, and after the nations that are round about them, of whom Yahweh commanded them not to do like them;" ¹⁶ And they forsake all the commands of Yahweh their Elohim, and make to them a molten image--two calves, and make a shrine, and bow themselves to all the host of the heavens, and serve Baal, ¹⁷ and cause their sons and their daughters to pass over through fire, and divine divinations, and use enchantments, and sell themselves to do the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, to provoke Him;" ¹⁸ That Yahweh shows himself very angry against Israel, and turns them aside from His presence; none has been left, only the tribe of Judah by itself. ¹⁹ Also Judah has not kept the commands of Yahweh their Elohim, and they walk in the statutes of Israel that they had made. ²⁰ And Yahweh kicks against all the seed of Israel, and afflicts them, and gives them into the hand of spoilers, till that He has cast them out of His presence, ²¹ for He has rent Israel from the house of David, and they make Jeroboam son of Nebat king, and Jeroboam drives Israel from after Yahweh, and has caused them to sin a great sin, ²² and the sons of Israel walk in all the sins of Jeroboam that he did, they have not turned aside therefrom, ²³ till that Yahweh has turned Israel aside from His presence, as He spoke by the hand of all His servants the prophets, and Israel is removed from off its land to Asshur, unto this day.

¹³ `Go, seek Yahweh for me, and for the people, and for all Judah, concerning the words of this book that is found, for great [is] the fury of Yahweh that is kindled against us, because that our fathers have not hearkened unto the words of this book, to do according to all that is written for us.. <sup>14</sup> And Hilkiah the priest goes, and Ahikam, and Achbor, and Shaphan, and Asahiah, unto Huldah the prophetess, wife of Shallum, son of Tikvah, son of Harhas, keeper of the garments, and she is dwelling in Jerusalem in the second, and they speak unto her. <sup>15</sup> And she said unto them, `Thus said Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, Say to the man who has sent you unto me. ¹⁶ Thus said Yahweh, Lo, I am bringing in evil unto this place and on its inhabitants, all the words of the book that the king of Judah has read, ¹⁷ because that they have forsaken Me, and make perfume to other elohims, so as to provoke Me to anger with every work of their hands, and My wrath has been kindled against this place, and it is not quenched.

²⁶ Only, Yahweh has not turned back from the fierceness of His great anger with which His anger burned against Judah, because of all the provocations with which Manasseh provoked him, ²⁷ and Yahweh said, `Also Judah I turn aside from my presence, as I turned Israel aside, and I have rejected this city that I have chosen--Jerusalem, and the house of which I said, My name is there..

⁹ And Manasseh makes Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem to err, to do evil above the nations that Yahweh destroyed from the presence of the sons of Israel.

⁶ and said:My Elohim, I am ashamed and confounded to raise up my face to You, my Elohim, for our depravities, they are abundant, above our heads, and our guilt is towering unto the heavens. ⁷ From the days of our fathers we have been in great guilt until this day; because of our depravities we ourselves, our kings, our priests have been given into the hand of the kings of the countries, to the sword, to captivity, to plundering and to shame of face, just as this day.

⁵ Fear and quivering come over me, And shuddering covers me."

¹⁰ He ratified it to Jacob as a statute, To Israel as a covenant eonian."

³⁶ They served their fetishes, And these came to be a trap for them." ³⁷ They sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons; ³⁸ So they shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the fetishes of Canaan, And the land was polluted with bloodshed." ³⁹ Thus they defiled themselves by their deeds, And they prostituted themselves by their actions."

² Hark, you heavens! And give ear, O earth! For Yahweh speaks! Sons I bring up and exalt, yet they, they transgress against Me." ³ The bull knows his owner, and the ass the crib of his possessors, yet Israel does not know Me, and My people do not consider Me." ⁴ Woe, nation of sin! People heavy with depravity! Seed of evil doers! Sons of ruiners! They forsake Yahweh. They spurn the Holy One of Israel. They are estranged, going back." ⁵ For what are you being smitten still? You are continuing in stubbornness. All of the head is ill, and all of the heart languishes."

⁶ Among a nation polluted will I send him. And against a people, object of My rage, will I instruct him. To loot loot and to plunder plunder, and to place them for tramping, as the clay of the streets."

¹ Thus says Yahweh, "Where is this scroll of divorce of your mother, with which I let her go? Or which of My creditors is it to whom I sold you? Behold! For your depravities were you sold, and for your transgressions was your mother sent away."

¹ Behold! The hand of Yahweh is not too short to save! And His ear is not too heavy to hear! ² But rather your depravities become a separation between you and your Elohim. And your sins conceal His face from you, from hearing you." ³ For your palms are sullied with blood, and your fingers with depravity. Your lips speak falsehood, your tongue iniquity is soliloquizing."

¹² For multitudinous are our transgressions in front of You, and our sins answer against us. For our transgressions are with us, and our depravities, we know them:" ¹³ Transgression and dissimulation against Yahweh, and turning away from following our Elohim, speaking perversity and stubbornness, pregnant with and soliloquizing from the heart, words of falsehood." ¹⁴ And turned away backward is judgment, and justice is standing afar. For truth is stumbling in the square, and correctness cannot enter." ¹⁵ And it is coming that the truth is being deranged, and a withdrawer from evil is making himself loot.And Yahweh is seeing, and it is evil in His eyes, for there is no judgment."

¹ Saying, `Lo, one sends away his wife, And she has gone from him, And she has been to another man, Does he turn back unto her again? Greatly defiled is not that land? And you have committed whoredom with many lovers, And turn again to Me, an affirmation of Yahweh." ² Lift your eyes to the high places, and see, Where have you not been lain with? On the ways you have sat for them, As an Arab in a wilderness, And you defile the land, By your fornications, and by your wickedness."

⁵ [To] Zion they ask the way, Thitherward [are] their faces:Come in, and we are joined unto Yahweh, A covenant eonian--not forgotten."

²⁰ As to the beauty of his ornament, For excellency He set it, And the images of their abominations, Their detestable things--they made in it, Therefore I have given it to them for impurity, ²¹ And I have given it into the hand of the strangers for a prey, And to the wicked of the land for a spoil, And they have polluted it." ²² And I have turned My face from them, And they have polluted My hidden place, Yea, come into it have destroyers, and polluted it." ²³ Make the chain; for the land Has been full of bloody judgments, And the city has been full of violence." ²⁴ And I have brought in the wicked of the nations, And they have possessed their houses, And I have caused to cease the excellency of the strong, And polluted have been those sanctifying them."

¹³ And--rebel against me do the house of Israel in the wilderness, In My statutes they have not walked, And My judgments they have despised, Which the man who does--lives by them. And My sabbaths they have greatly polluted, And I say to pour out My fury on them in the wilderness, to consume them."

²⁴ Because My judgments they have not done, And My statutes they have despised, And My sabbaths they have polluted, And after idols of their fathers have their eyes been."

²⁴ `Son of man, say to it, You [are] a land, It [is] not cleansed nor rained on in a day of indignation." <sup>25</sup> A conspiracy of its prophets [is] in its midst, as a roaring lion tearing prey; The soul they have devoured, Wealth and glory they have taken, Its widows have multiplied in its midst." <sup>26</sup> Its priests have wronged My law, And they pollute My holy things, Between holy and common they have not made separation, And between the unclean and the clean they have not made known, And from my sabbaths they have hidden their eyes, And I am pierced in their midst." <sup>27</sup> Its princes in its midst [are] as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain." <sup>28</sup> And its prophets have daubed for them with chalk, Seeing a vain thing, and divining for them a lie, Saying, `Thus said the Lord Yahweh:' And Yahweh has not spoken." ²⁹ The people of the land have used oppression, And have taken plunder violently away, And humble and needy have oppressed, And the sojourner oppressed--without judgment." ³⁰ And I seek of them a man making a fence, And standing in the breach before Me, In behalf of the land--not to destroy it, And I have not found." ³¹ And I pour out on them mine indignation, By fire of My wrath I have consumed them, Their way on their own head I have put, An affirmation of the Lord Yahweh!'"

²⁶ And I have made to them a covenant of peace, A covenant eonian it is with them, And I have placed them, and multiplied them, And placed My sanctuary in their midst--to the eon."

²⁵ declarations to set aside the Supreme will he declare; to the saints of the supremacies will he bring decay; he is meaning to alter stated times and an edict; and they shall be granted into his hand unto a season and two seasons and the distribution of a season.

⁵ We sin and we are depraved, we do wickedly and revolt, we withdraw from Thy instructions and from Thy judgments."

¹⁰ We do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh our Elohim, to go in His laws which He sets before us by the hand of His servants the prophets."

¹⁰ Rise and go, for this is not your rest; for the sake of uncleanness it will harm, and the cramp will harass."

⁷ Yet in vain are they revering Me, teaching for teachings the directions of men." ⁸ For, leaving the precept of God, you are holding the tradition of men of the baptism of ewers and cups. And many such like things you are doing." ⁹ And He said to them, "Ideally are you repudiating the precept of God, that you should be keeping your tradition."

⁶ Now they were both just in front of God, going in all the precepts and just statutes of the Lord, blameless."

²⁰ For to vanity was the creation subjected, not voluntarily, but because of Him Who subjects it, in expectation" ²¹ that the creation itself, also, shall be freed from the slavery of corruption into the glorious freedom of the children of God."

¹ Indeed then, the former also had just statutes of divine service, besides a worldly holy place."

²⁰ Now may the God of peace, Who is leading up our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, from among the dead by the blood of the eonian covenant,
