Ezra 1:1 Cross References - CLV

¹ In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, to conclude the word of Yahweh from the mouth of Jeremiah, Yahweh roused the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia so that he caused a notification to pass through all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying,

²² And in the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, at the completion of the word of Yahweh in the mouth of Jeremiah, has Yahweh waked up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, and he causes an intimation to pass over into all his kingdom, and also in writing, saying, ²³ `Thus said Cyrus king of Persia, All kingdoms of the earth has Yahweh, Elohim of the heavens, given to me, and He has laid a charge on me to build to Him a house in Jerusalem, that [is] in Judah; who is among you of all His people? Yahweh his Elohim [is] with him, and he does go up..

¹³ But in year one of king Cyrus of Babylon, king Cyrus promulgated a decree to rebuild this House of Eloah. ¹⁴ And also the vessels of gold and silver of the House of Eloah that Nebuchadnezzar had taken from the temple in Jerusalem and had transferred them to the temple in Babylon--king Cyrus removed them from the temple in Babylon, and they were granted to Sheshbazzar; this was the name of him whom he had appointed viceroy. ¹⁵ And he said to him:Carry these vessels with you; depart and put them down in the temple in Jerusalem, and let the House of Eloah be rebuilt on its site.

²² They held the celebration of unleavened cakes seven days with rejoicing; for Yahweh made them rejoice, since He had turned the heart of the king of Assyria around toward them to fortify their hands in the work of the House of Elohim, the Elohim of Israel.

²⁷ Blessed be Yahweh Elohim of our fathers, Who has put such as this into the heart of the king to beautify the House of Yahweh in Jerusalem.

⁴⁶ He gave them over to compassions Before all those holding them captive.

¹ Like rillets of water is the king's heart in the hand of Yahweh; Wherever He inclines, He turns it aside."

¹² `And it has come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation--an affirmation of Yahweh--their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations eonian." ¹³ And I have brought in on that land all My words that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book, that Jeremiah has prophesied concerning all the nations." ¹⁴ For laid service on them--also them--have many nations and great kings, and I have given recompence to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands."

¹⁰ `For thus said Yahweh, Surely at the fulness of Babylon--seventy years--I inspect you, and have established towards you My good word, to bring you back unto this place."

⁷ And I have turned back the captivity of Judah, And the captivity of Israel, And I have built them as at the first, ⁸ And cleansed them from all their iniquity, That they have sinned against Me, And I have pardoned all their iniquities, That they have sinned against Me, And that they transgressed against Me." ⁹ And it has been to Me for a name of joy, For praise, and for beauty, to all nations of the earth, Who hear of all the good that I am doing them, And they have feared, And they have trembled for all the good, And for all the peace, that I am doing to it." ¹⁰ Thus said Yahweh:Again heard in this place of which you are saying, Waste it [is], without man and without beast, In cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, That are desolated, without man, And without inhabitant, and without beast, ¹¹ Is a voice of joy and a voice of gladness, Voice of bridegroom, and voice of bride, The voice of those saying, Thank Yahweh of Hosts, for Yahweh [is] good, For His kindness [is] to the eon, Who are bringing in thanksgiving to the house of Yahweh, For I turn back the captivity of the land, As at the first, said Yahweh." ¹² Thus said Yahweh of Hosts:Again there is in this place--that is waste, Without man and beast, And in all its cities--a habitation of shepherds, Causing the flock to lie down." ¹³ In the cities of the hill-country, In the cities of the low country, And in the cities of the south, And in the land of Benjamin, And in the suburbs of Jerusalem, And in the cities of Judah, Again does the flock pass by under the hands of the numberer, said Yahweh."

¹ In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar's kingdom, Nebuchadnezzar dreams dreams; agitated is his spirit and his sleep is fleeing from him."

¹ Now in those days, coming along is John the baptist, heralding in the wilderness of Judea, ² saying: "Repent! for near is the kingdom of the heavens!" ³ For this is he of whom it is declared through Isaiah the prophet, saying,
"The voice of one imploring:
'In the wilderness make ready the road of the Lord!
Straight...be making the highways'of Him!

²³ He averred, "I am 'the voice of one imploring, "In the wilderness straighten the road of the Lord!"' according as said Isaiah the prophet."
