Ezra 10:1 Cross References - CLV

¹ While Ezra was praying and while he was confessing, lamenting and cast to the ground before the House of the One, Elohim, those from Israel convened around him, a very great assembly, men, women and children; for the people lamented with increased lamentation.

⁴⁰ If they will confess their depravity and the depravity of their fathers in their offense (when they had offended Me and, indeed, when they had gone contrary to M. ⁴¹ so that I Myself also went contrary to them and brought them into the land of their enemies), if then their uncircumcised heart should submit, and if then they should accept their depravity,

¹² Assemble the people, the men, the women, the little ones and your sojourner who is within your gates, that they may hear and that they may learn:they must fear Yahweh your Elohim and must observe to keep all the words of this law.

⁴ And it comes to pass, when the messenger of Yahweh speaks these words unto all the sons of Israel, that the people lift up their voice and weep, ⁵ and they call the name of that place Bochim, and sacrifice there to Yahweh.

³⁰ `Then You have hearkened unto the supplication of Your servant, and of Your people Israel, which they pray towards this place; yea, You do hearken in the place of Your dwelling, in the heavens--and You have hearkened, and have forgiven,

³ and Yahweh said unto him, `I have heard your prayer and your supplication with which you have made supplication before Me; I have hallowed this house that you have built to put My name there--unto the eon, and Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.

⁹ If evil does come upon us--sword, judgment, and pestilence, and famine--we stand before this house, and before You, for Your name [is] in this house, and cry unto You out of our distress, and You do hear and save.

¹³ And all Judah are standing before Yahweh, also their infants, their wives, and their sons.

⁹ And Nehemiah--he [is] the Tirshatha--said (and Ezra the priest, the scribe, and the Levites who are instructing the people) to all the people, `To-day is holy to Yahweh your Elohim, do not mourn, nor weep:' for all the people are weeping at their hearing the words of the law.

²⁸ And the rest of the people, the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the Nethinim, and every one who has been separated from the peoples of the lands unto the law of Elohim, their wives, their sons, and their daughters, every knowing intelligent one,

⁵ I am now acknowledging my sin to You, And I do not cover over my depravity. I said, I shall confess against myself my transgressions to Yahweh, And You, You lift away the depravity of my sin. {Interlude{ "

¹³⁶ Rillets of water, they descend from my eyes Because men do not keep Your law."

¹ Who does make my head waters, And mine eye a fountain of tears? And I weep by day and by night, For the wounded of the daughter of my people."

¹⁷ And if you do not hear it, In secret places does my soul weep, because of pride, Yea, it weeps sore, And the tear comes down mine eyes, For the flock of Yahweh has been taken captive."

³ I am setting my face to my Lord the Elohim, to seek prayer and supplications in fasting and sackcloth and ashes." ⁴ I am praying to Yahweh my Elohim and am confessing and saying, "Oh, my Lord the El, great and fearful, Keeper of the covenant and the kindness for those loving Him and keeping His instructions:"

²⁰ And while I am speaking-- praying and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel and casting my supplication before Yahweh my Elohim concerning the holy mountain of my Elohim--

² Take words with you and return to Yahweh, your Elohim; say to Him:Wilt You bear away all the depravity? Take the good, and we will repay with the fruit of our lips."

¹⁶ Gather the people! Hallow the assembly! Convene the elders! Gather the unweaned children and the sucklings at the breasts! The bridegroom shall fare forth from his chamber, and the bride from her canopy!" ¹⁷ Between the portico and the altar shall the priests lament. The ministers of Yahweh then shall say, Commiserate, Yahweh, over Your people, and You must not give Your allotment to reproach, that the nations rule among them. Why shall they say among the peoples, Where is their Elohim? ¹⁸ Then Yahweh will be jealous for His land, and He will spare His people."

¹⁰ Yet I pour out on the house of David, and on the dwellers of Jerusalem, a spirit of grace and supplications; and they look to Him Whom they stabbed, and they will wail over Him as the wailing over the only son, and they will be embittered over Him as the embittering over the firstborn."

⁴¹ And as He draws near, perceiving the city, He laments over it,

³⁰ And Cornelius averred, "Four days ago unto this hour was I fasting, and at the ninth, praying in my house, and lo! a man stood before me in splendid attire,

⁵ Now, when the days came to fit us out, coming away, we went, all sending us forward, together with the wives and children, till outside of the city. And kneeling on the beach, praying,

² 2 That my sorrow is great, and unintermittent pain is in my heart -"

⁸ If we should be saying that we have no sin we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us." ⁹ If we should be avowing our sins, He is faithful and just that He may be pardoning us our sins and should be cleansing us from all injustice." ¹⁰ If we should be saying that we have not sinned, we are making Him a liar, and His word is not in us."
