²⁵ Therefore say unto them:Thus said the Lord Yahweh:With the blood you do eat, And your eyes you lift up unto your idols, And blood you shed, and the land you inherit!"

⁴ Yea, only flesh with its soul, its blood, you shall not eat.

¹⁷ It shall be an eonian statute throughout your generations in all your dwellings; any fat or any blood you shall not eat.

²⁶ And no blood at all shall you eat in any of your dwellings, of flyer or of beast. ²⁷ Any soul who eats any blood, that soul will be cut off from his kinsmen.

¹⁰ As for any man from the house of Israel and from the sojourners sojourning in your midst who should eat any blood, I will set My face against the soul eating blood, and I will cut him off from among his people, ¹¹ for the soul of the flesh, it is in the blood, and I Myself have assigned it to you to make a propitiatory shelter over your souls on the altar; for the blood, in the soul it makes a propitiatory shelter. ¹² Therefore I say to the sons of Israel:No soul at all of you shall eat blood; nor shall the sojourner sojourning in your midst eat blood. ¹³ Any man from the sons of Israel and from the sojourners sojourning in your midst who hunt a game animal or a flyer which may be eaten will pour out its blood and cover it with soil, ¹⁴ for the soul of all flesh is its blood; as its soul is it. So I said to the sons of Israel:The blood of any flesh you shall not eat, for the soul of all flesh, it is its blood. Everyone eating it shall be cut off.

²⁶ You shall not eat on the mountains. You shall not augur nor consult clouds.

¹⁹ Guard yourselves lest you should lift up your eyes toward the heavens, and you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of the heavens, and be induced to bow yourself down to them and serve them, which Yahweh your Elohim has apportioned to all other peoples beneath the entire heavens.

¹⁶ But the blood you shall not eat. On the earth shall you pour it out like water.

³² and the people make unto the spoil, and take sheep, and oxen, and sons of the herd, and slaughter on the earth, and the people eat with the blood. ³³ And they declare to Saul, saying, `Lo, the people are sinning against Yahweh, to eat with the blood.' And he said, `You have dealt treacherously, roll unto me to-day a great stone.. ³⁴ And Saul said, `Be you scattered among the people, and you have said to them, Bring you nigh unto me each his ox, and each his sheep; and you have slain [them] in this place, and eaten, and you do not sin against Yahweh to eat with the blood.' And all the people bring nigh each his ox, in his hand, that night, and slaughter [them] there.

⁴ The innocent of palms and pure of heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to mere idols, And has not sworn by what is deceitful."

⁹ Stealing, murdering, and committing adultery, And swearing to falsehood, and giving perfume to Baal, And going after other elohims whom you knew not." ¹⁰ And you have come in and stood before Me, In this house on which My name is called, And have said, `We have been delivered,' In order to do all these abominations."

¹⁵ And they answer Jeremiah--all the men who are knowing that their wives are making perfume to other elohims, and all the women who are remaining, a great assembly, even all the people who are dwelling in the land of Egypt, in Pathros--saying:" ¹⁶ `The word that you have spoken unto us in the name of Yahweh--we are not hearkening unto you; <sup>17</sup> for we certainly do everything that has gone out of our mouth, to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, as we have done, we, and our fathers, our kings, and our heads, in cities of Judah, and in streets of Jerusalem, and--we are satisfied with bread, and we are well, and evil we have not seen." <sup>18</sup> `And from the time we have ceased to make perfume to the queen of the heavens, and to pour out to her libations, we have lacked all, and by sword and by famine we have been consumed, ¹⁹ and when we are making perfume to the queen of the heavens, and pouring out to her libations--without our husbands have we made for her cakes to idolize her, and to pour out to her libations?'"

⁹ And He said unto me, `The iniquity of the house of Israel and Judah [is] very very great, and the land is full of blood, and the city has been full of perverseness, for they have said:Yahweh has forsaken the land, and Yahweh is not seeing."

⁶ On the mountains he has not eaten, And his eyes he has not lifted up Unto idols of the house of Israel, And the wife of his neighbor defiled not, And to a separated woman comes not near,

¹² The afflicted and needy he has oppressed, Plunder he has taken violently away, A pledge he does not return, And unto the idols he has lifted up his eyes, Abomination he has done!"

¹⁵ On the mountains he has not eaten, And his eyes he has not lifted up Unto idols of the house of Israel, The wife of his neighbor he has not defiled,

⁶ Lo, princes of Israel--each according to his arm Have been in you to shed blood."

⁹ Men of slander have been in you to shed blood, And on the mountains they have eaten in you, Wickedness they have done in your midst."

²⁷ Its princes in its midst [are] as wolves, Tearing prey, to shed blood, to destroy souls, For the sake of gaining dishonest gain."

²⁰ but to write an epistle to them to be abstaining from ceremonial pollution with idols, and prostitution, and what is strangled, and blood." ²¹ For Moses, from ancient generations, city by city, has those who are heralding him, being read on every sabbath in the synagogues."

²⁹ to be abstaining from idol sacrifices, and blood, and what is strangled and prostitution; from which, carefully keeping yourselves, you will be well engaged. Farewell!"

²⁵ Now concerning those of the nations who have believed, we write an epistle, deciding they are to guard themselves from idol sacrifice, besides from blood also, and what is strangled, and from prostitution."
