Ezekiel 20:4 Cross References - CLV

⁴ Do you judge them? Do you judge, son of man? The abominations of their fathers cause them to know,

³ And now, dweller of Jerusalem, and man of Judah, judge, pray, between Me and My vineyard,

¹⁶ And you do not pray for this people, Nor lift up for them crying and prayer, Nor intercede with Me, for I hear you not."

¹⁴ And you, you do not pray for this people, Nor do you lift up for them cry and prayer, For I do not hearken in the time of their calling unto Me for their vexation."

¹¹ And Yahweh said unto me:You do not pray for this people for good, ¹² When they fast, I hearken not unto their cry, And when they cause to ascend burnt-offering and present, I accept them not, For by sword, and by famine, And by pestilence, I am consuming them." ¹³ And I say, `Ah, Lord Yahweh, Lo, the prophets are saying to them:You do not see a sword, yea, famine is not to you, For true peace I give to you in this place.'" ¹⁴ And Yahweh said unto me:Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them:A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you."

¹ And Yahweh said unto me:Though Moses and Samuel should stand before Me, My soul is not toward this people, Send from before My face, and they go out."

¹⁴ and these three men have been in its midst, Noah, Daniel, and Job--they by their righteousness deliver their own soul--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh."

²⁰ and Noah, Daniel, and Job, in its midst:I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh--neither son nor daughter do they deliver; they, by their righteousness, deliver their own soul."

² `Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations, and you have said:" ³ Thus said the Lord Yahweh to Jerusalem:Your birth and your nativity [Are] of the land of the Canaanite, Your father the Amorite, and your mother a Hittite."

² `And you, son of man, do you judge? do you judge the city of blood? then you have caused it to know all its abominations,

³⁶ And Yahweh said unto me, `Son of man, Do you judge Aholah and Aholibah? Declare then to them their abominations."

⁴⁵ As to righteous men, they judge them with the judgment of adulteresses, And the judgment of women shedding blood, For they [are] adulteresses, And blood [is] in their hands."

²⁹ Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for you are building the sepulchers of the prophets and adorning the tombs of the just, ³⁰ and you are saying, 'If we were in the days of our fathers, we would not be participants with them in the blood of the prophets.'" ³¹ So that you are testifying to yourselves that you are the sons of those who murder the prophets. ³² And you! Fill full the measure of your father! ³³ Serpents! Progeny of vipers! How may you be fleeing from the judging of Gehenna? ³⁴ Therefore, lo! I am dispatching to you prophets and wise men and scribes. Of them, some you will be killing and crucifying, and of them, some you will be scourging in your synagogues and persecuting from city to city, ³⁵ so that on you should be coming all the just blood shed on the earth, from the blood of just Abel until the blood of Zechariah, son of Berechiah, whom you murder between the temple and the altar." ³⁶ Verily, I am saying to you: All these things will be arriving on this generation." ³⁷ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! who art killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen is assembling her brood under her wings-and you will not!"

⁴⁷ Woe to you! for you are building the tombs of the prophets, yet your fathers kill them." ⁴⁸ Consequently you are witnesses and are endorsing the acts of your fathers, for they, indeed, kill them, yet you are building their tombs." ⁴⁹ Therefore, also, God's Wisdom said, 'I shall be dispatching to them prophets and apostles, and some of them they will be killing and banishing,'" ⁵⁰ that the blood of all the prophets which is shed from the disruption of the world may be exacted from this generation, ⁵¹ from the blood of Abel to the blood of Zechariah, who perished between the altar and the house. Yea, I am saying to you, It will be exacted from this generation!"

³³ Moreover, I must be going today and tomorrow and the coming one, for it is not credible that a prophet perish outside of Jerusalem." ³⁴ Jerusalem! Jerusalem! killing the prophets and pelting with stones those who have been dispatched to her! How many times do I want to assemble your children in the manner a hen does her brood under her wings, and you will not!" ³⁵ Lo! left to you is your house. Yet I am saying to you that by no means may you be perceiving Me till the time will be arriving when you should be saying, 'Blessed is He Who is coming in the name of the Lord!'"

⁵¹ Stiff-necked and uncircumcised in your hearts and ears, you are ever clashing with the holy spirit! As your fathers, you also!" ⁵² Which of the prophets do not your fathers persecute? And they kill those who announce before concerning the coming of the Just One, of Whom now you became the traitors and murderers -"

² Or are you not aware that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world is being judged by you, are you unworthy of the least tribunals?
