¹⁴ And to the elders he said: Wait for us in this place until we return to you. And behold, Aaron and Hur are with you. Anyone who has matters, let him come to them.

⁵ And saying is Abraham to his lads, "Sit you here with the ass, and I and the lad will go, meanwhile, and we will worship and return to you.

¹⁰ Joshua did just as Moses said to him, to fight with Amalek. As for Moses, Aaron and Hur, they ascended the summit of the hill.

¹² When the hands of Moses became heavy, they took a stone and placed it beneath him, and he sat on it. As for Aaron and Hur, they upheld his hands, from this side one and and from that side one. So it came to be that his hands were constant until sunset. "

²⁵ Moses chose men of ability from all Israel and set them as heads over the people, chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties and chiefs of tens. ²⁶ They judged the people in every season. The hard matter were they bringing to Moses, and every small matter they were judging themselves.

¹ The people saw that Moses was tardy to descend from the mountain. So the people assembled themselves against Aaron and said to him: Rise! Make for us elohim who shall go before us, for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we know not what has become of him.

⁸ `And you have gone down before me to Gilgal, and lo, I am going down unto you, to cause to ascend burnt-offerings, to sacrifice sacrifices of peace-offerings; seven days you do wait till my coming in unto you, and I have made known to you that which you do do..

⁸ And he waits seven days, according to the appointment with Samuel, and Samuel has not come to Gilgal, and the people are scattered from off him. ⁹ And Saul said, `Bring nigh unto me the burnt-offering, and the peace-offerings;' and he causes the burnt-offering to ascend. <sup>10</sup> And it comes to pass at his completing to cause the burnt-offering to ascend, that lo, Samuel has come, and Saul goes out to meet him, to bless him;" <sup>11</sup> and Samuel said, `What have you done?' And Saul said, `Because I saw that the people were scattered from off me, and you hadst not come at the appointment of the days, and the Philistines are gathered to Michmash, <sup>12</sup> and I say, Now do the Philistines come down unto me to Gilgal, and the face of Yahweh I have not appeased; and I force myself, and cause the burnt-offering to ascend.. <sup>13</sup> And Samuel said unto Saul, `You have been foolish; you have not kept the command of Yahweh your Elohim, which He commanded you, for now had Yahweh established your kingdom over Israel unto the eon;"
