⁴⁰ Now the dwelling of the sons of Israel and their fathers who dwelt in the land of Canaan and in the land of Egypt was four hundred thirty years.

¹ Now saying is Yahweh to Abram, "Go you from your land and from your kindred and from your father's house to the land which I shall show you. ² And make you will I into a great nation, and bless you will I and make your name great, and become must you a blessing. ³ And bless those will I who bless you, and those making light of you will I curse. And blessed in you and in your seed are all the families of the ground.

¹³ And saying is He to Abram, "Knowing, yea, knowing are you that a sojourner is your seed to become in a land not theirs, and they are to serve them. Yet evil shall they do to them and humiliate them four hundred years.

⁶ Yet God speaks thus, that his seed shall be sojourner in an alien land, and they shall enslave it and illtreat it four hundred years."

¹⁷ The God of this people Israel chooses our fathers, and exalts the people in the sojourn in the land of Egypt, and with a high arm He led them out of it."

¹⁶ Now to Abraham the promises were declared, and to his Seed. He is not saying "And to seeds,as of many, but as of One: And to "your Seed,which is Christ." ¹⁷ Now this am I saying: a covenant, having been ratified before by God, the law, having come four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not invalidate,

⁹ By faith he sojourns in the land of promise as in an alien land, dwelling in tabernacles with Isaac and Jacob, the joint enjoyers of the allotment of the same promise. "
