¹ Give ear, O heavens, and let me speak, and hear O earth, the sayings of my mouth. ² My monition shall trickle as rain, and my saying shall distil as night mist:As drizzle on verdure, and as the showers on herbage. ³ For the name of Yahweh am I proclaiming:Grant greatness to our Elohim! ⁴ The Rock--flawless is His contrivance, for all His ways are righteous judgment. The El of faithfulness and without iniquity; just and upright is He. ⁵ They have become corrupt before Him; no longer are they His sons because of their blemish:A generation perverse and twisted. ⁶ Is this what you requite to Yahweh, you decadent and unwise people? Is not He your Father Who acquired you? He Himself made you and established you. ⁷ Remember the days of the eon; understand the years of generation after generation. Ask your father, and he shall tell you, your elders, and they shall say to you. ⁸ When the Supreme gave the nations allotments, when He parted the sons of Adam, He stationed the boundaries of the peoples according to the number of the sons of El. ⁹ For the portion of Yahweh is His people; Jacob is the line of His allotment. ¹⁰ He found him in a wilderness country, and in a chaos, a howling desolation. He surrounded him; He made him understand; He preserved him as the pupil of His eye. ¹¹ As a vulture rouses up its nest, hovers over its fledglings, spreads its wings, takes it, bears it on its pinions, ¹² thus Yahweh alone guided him, and with him was no foreign el;" ¹³ He made him ride on fane heights of the land and made him eat produce of the field; He made him suckle honey from the crag and oil from the flinty rock, ¹⁴ clotted cream of the herd and milk of the flock, with fat of butting rams and rams of Bashan-breed and he-goats, with the fat of the wheat germ. And from the blood of the grape you drank turbid wine. ¹⁵ When Yeshurun grew stout and kicked (you will be stout, thick and burly), then he abandoned Eloah Who had made him and disgraced the Rock of his salvation. ¹⁶ They made Him jealous with alien gods, with abhorrences they provoked Him to vexation. ¹⁷ They sacrificed to demons, not Eloah, to elohim--they had not known them before--to new ones that came from nearby; your fathers were not horrified by them. ¹⁸ The Rock Who generated you, you were oblivious of Him, and you forgot the El travailing with you. ¹⁹ Yahweh saw and spurned them because of the vexation caused by His sons and His daughters. ²⁰ And he said:Let Me conceal My face from them; I shall examine what their latter days are to be. For they are a wayward generation, sons with no faithfulness in them. ²¹ As for them, they make Me jealous with a non-el. They provoke Me to vexation with their idols of vanity. As for Me, I shall make them jealous with a non-people; with a decadent nation shall I cause them vexation. ²² For a fire will be kindled by My anger, and it shall glow unto the unseen beneath; it shall devour the earth and its crop, and it shall set aflame the foundations of the mountains. ²³ I shall cause evils to sweep up over them; I shall exhaust My arrows among them ²⁴ who are gaunt with famine, fought by pestilence and bitter sting:Even the tooth of beasts shall I send among them along with the venom of skulkers of the soil. ²⁵ From the outside, the sword shall bereave, and from the chambers, the dread of war, even for the man in his prime, even for the virgin, the suckling along with the grey-haired man. ²⁶ I would say:I might blow them away, I might eradicate their remembrance from mortals, ²⁷ unless I shrank away from the vexation of the enemy; lest their foes misconstrue, lest they say:Our hand is high, and it was not Yahweh Who contrived all this. ²⁸ For they are a nation whose counsel is destructive, and there is no understanding in them. ²⁹ O that they were wise; they would proceed intelligently in this; they would understand about their latter days! ³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them? ³¹ For their rock is not like our Rock; even our enemies are umpires. ³² For their vine is from the vine of Sodom and from the terraces of Gomorrah; their grapes are grapes of poison, and the clusters are bitterness to them;" ³³ their wine is as the fury of snakes and the poison of cobras, as cruel. ³⁴ Is it not amassed with Me, sealed among My treasure. ³⁵ for the day of vengeance and repayment, for the season when their foot shall slip? For the day of their calamity is near, and impending doom hurries upon them. ³⁶ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people and show Himself merciful over His servants when He sees that the power of their hand has departed and has become nil for both the restrained and the ones set free. ³⁷ Then Yahweh will ask:Where are their elohim, the rock in whom they took refuge, ³⁸ who ate the fat of their sacrifices and drank the wine of their libations? Let them rise up and help you; let them become a concealment over you. ³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other elohim besides Me. I Myself put to death, and I keep alive; I have transfixed, and I Myself shall heal, and there is no one who could reclaim from My hand!" ⁴⁰ For I lift My hand to the heavens and declare:As I am the Life for the eon, ⁴¹ when I whet My flashing sword and My hand lays hold on judgment, I shall return vengeance to My foes, and to My haters shall I make repayment. ⁴² I shall make My arrows drunk with blood, and My sword shall devour flesh, the blood of the one mortally wounded and the captive, from the head of the enemy commanders. ⁴³ Jubilate, O heavens, together with Him, and worship Him, all the messengers of Elohim! Jubilate, O nations, with His people! For the blood of His servants shall He avenge, vengeance to His foes shall He return, and a propitiatory shelter shall He make for the ground of His people. ⁴⁴ Moses came and spoke all the words of this song in the ears of the people, he and Hosea son of Nun. ⁴⁵ When Moses concluded speaking all these words to all Israel, ⁴⁶ he said to them:Set your heart on all the words which I am testifying among you today, so that you may enjoin them on your sons to observe to obey all the words of this law. ⁴⁷ For it is not an empty word for you; it means your life, and by this word you may prolong your days on the ground where you are crossing over the Jordan to tenant it. ⁴⁸ Yahweh spoke to Moses on this very day, saying. ⁴⁹ Go up to this mount of the Abarim range (Mount Nebo which is in the country of Moab that is overlooking Jericho), and see the land of Canaan that I am giving to the sons of Israel for a holding;" ⁵⁰ and die on the mount where you are going up, and be gathered to your people, just as Aaron your brother died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people, ⁵¹ because both of you offended Me in the midst of the sons of Israel at the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin, because neither of you hallowed Me in the midst of the sons of Israel. ⁵² For from a distance shall you see the land, yet you shall not enter there into the land that I am giving to the sons of Israel.

³¹ And seeing is the Elohim all that He had made, and, behold, it is very good. And coming is it to be evening and coming to be morning, the sixth day.

³ And bless those will I who bless you, and those making light of you will I curse. And blessed in you and in your seed are all the families of the ground.

²² And saying is Abram to the king of Sodom, "High hold I my hand to swear to Yahweh, the El Supreme, Owner of the heavens and the earth.

⁸ And taking is he clotted cream and milk, and the young one of the herd which he had made ready, and he is putting it before them. And he is standing by them under the tree, and eating are they.

²⁵ Far be it from You to do according to this word, to put to death the righteous with the wicked, and so come the righteous to be as the wicked. Far be it from You! The Judge of the entire earth, will He not execute judgment?

⁸ And expiring is Abraham, and dying in a good grey-haired age, old and satisfied with days. And gathered is he to his people.

What shall I say to them? ¹⁴ Then Elohim spoke to Moses: I shall come to be just as I am coming to be. And He said: Thus shall you say to the sons of Israel, I-Shall-Come-to-Be has sent me to you. ¹⁵ And Elohim said further to Moses: Thus shall you say to the sons of Israel, Yahweh, the Elohim of your fathers, the Elohim of Abraham, the Elohim of Isaac and the Elohim of Jacob, has sent me to you. This is My name for the eon, and this the remembrance of Me for generation after generation. ¹⁶ Go, and you will gather the elders of the sons of Israel and say to them, Yahweh, the Elohim of your fathers, appeared to me, the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, saying, I have noticed, yea noticed you and what is being done to you in Egypt.

²² So you will say to Pharaoh: Thus says Yahweh, My son, My firstborn, is Israel.

³ and I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as the El-Who-Suffices; as to My name Yahweh, I was not fully realized by them.

⁸ I will bring you to the land which I lifted up My hand in swearing to give it to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a tenancy. I am Yahweh.

¹⁴ When it comes to be that your son is asking you tomorrow, saying: What does this mean? then you will say to him, With steadfastness of hand Yahweh brought us forth from Egypt, from the house of servants.

²⁵ Then He clogged the wheels of his chariots and made them drive heavily. Then the Egyptians said: Let me flee from the face of Israel, for Yahweh, He fights for them against Egypt.

¹⁶ Dread and awe are falling on them; by the greatness of Your arm they are still as a stone, until Your people are passing by, Yahweh, until this people whom You have acquired are passing by.

⁴ You have seen what I did to the Egyptians when I bore you on vultures' wings and brought you to Myself. ⁵ Now, if you shall hearken, yea hearken to My voice and observe My covenant then you will become Mine, a special possession, above all the peoples, for Mine is all the earth. ⁶ As for you, you shall become Mine, a kingdom of priests and a holy nation. These are the words which you shall speak to the sons of Israel.

⁵ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

²⁴ An altar of ground soil shall you make for Me, and you will sacrifice on it your ascent offerings and your peace offerings, your flock and your herd. In every place where I shall record My name I shall come to you and will bless you.

⁷ Then Yahweh spoke to Moses: Go! Go down, for your people whom you brought up from the land of Egypt have corrupted themselves.

¹² Why should the Egyptians speak, saying: For evil He brings them forth to kill them in the mountains and to finish them off the surface of the ground? Turn back from the heat of Your anger and show mercy concerning the evil to Your people.

¹⁹ And He said: I shall pass all My goodness before you and proclaim My name, Yahweh, before you; I will be gracious to whom I am being gracious and will have compassion for whom I am having compassion.

⁵ Then Yahweh descended in a cloud and stationed Himself with him there; and he called the name of Yahweh. ⁶ Now Yahweh passed by before his face and called: Yahweh, Yahweh El, Who is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger and with much kindness and truth,

³ Then Moses said to Aaron:That is what Yahweh spoke of, saying:Among those near Me shall I be hallowed, and in the presence of all the people shall I be glorified. Aaron was still;"

⁷ No longer shall they sacrifice their sacrifices to hairy goat-demons after whom they have been prostituting. An eonian statute shall this become for them throughout their generations.

⁵ You will observe My statutes and My judgments, for the human who does them will also live by them:I am Yahweh.

⁸ five of you will pursue a hundred, and a hundred of you shall pursue a myriad, and your enemies will fall before you by the sword.

¹¹ I will put My tabernacle in your midst, and My soul shall not loathe you.

¹⁸ And if, after these things, you should not hearken to Me, then I will continue to discipline you sevenfold for your sins.

²² I will send the animal of the field against you, and it will bereave you, cut off your domestic beasts and so decrease you that your roads will be desolated.

²⁴ then I will, indeed, go contrary to you, and I Myself will even smite you sevenfold for your sins.

³³ And you I shall winnow among the nations, and I will unsheathe a sword after you so that your land will become a desolation and your cities become a desert.

³⁶ As for the remainder among you, I will also bring timidity into their heart in the lands of their enemies so that the sound of a leaf being whisked away will pursue them, and they will flee as if in flight from the sword; they will fall even when there is no one pursuing. ³⁷ They will stumble, a man over his brother, as though in view of the sword when there is no pursuer, and you shall come to have no standing space before your enemies. ³⁸ You will perish among the nations, and the land of your enemies will devour you.

³⁵ Then fire came forth from Yahweh and devoured the two hundred fifty men who were bringing near the incense.

¹¹ When Moses raised up his hand and smote the crag with his rod twice, then much water came forth, and the congregation and their livestock drank. ¹² Yet Yahweh said to Moses and to Aaron:Because you did not believe in Me to sanctify Me before the eyes of the sons of Israel, therefore you shall not bring this assembly into the land which I will give to them. ¹³ These were the waters of Meribah where the sons of Israel contended with Yahweh, and He showed Himself holy among them. ¹⁴ Moses sent messengers from Kadesh to the king of Edom:Thus says your brother Israel, You know yourself all the stress which finds u.

²⁴ Aaron shall be gathered to his people, for he shall not come to the land which I will give to the sons of Israel, because you rebelled against My bidding at the waters of Meribah.

³² For ask now about the former days which came before you, from the day that Elohim created humanity on the earth, and from one end of the heavens unto the other end of the heavens:Has there occurred anything like this great thing, or has anything been heard like it?

³⁵ You were shown this to know that Yahweh, He is the only Elohim. There is no one else aside from Him. ³⁶ From the heavens He let you hear His voice, to discipline you, and on the earth He showed you His great fire, and you heard His words from the midst of the fire.

⁹ You shall not bow yourself down to them, nor be made to serve them, for I, Yahweh your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the depravity of the fathers on the sons, on the third and on the fourth generation, to those hating Me,

²⁴ and you said:Behold, Yahweh our Elohim has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we heard His voice from the midst of the fire. This day we have seen that Elohim speaks with the human and he still lives.

²⁹ O that their heart might become this way with them:to fear Me and to observe all My instructions all the days, that it might be well with them and with their sons for the eon.

⁶ These words which I am instructing you today will come to be in your heart. ⁷ Repeat them to your sons, and speak of them when you sit in your house, when you walk on the road, when you lie down and when you arise.

²⁵ You shall burn the carvings of their elohim with fire. You shall not covet the silver and gold on them or take it for yourselves, lest you be trapped by it, for it is an abhorrence to Yahweh your Elohim.

¹⁰ When you have eaten and are satisfied, then bless Yahweh your Elohim for the good land that He has given to you. ¹¹ Guard yourself lest you should forget Yahweh your Elohim by failing to observe His instructions and His judgments and His statutes that I am enjoining on you today,

¹⁹ It will come to be that if you forget, yea forget Yahweh your Elohim and go after other elohim and serve them and bow yourself down to them, I testify against you today that you shall perish, yea perish.

²⁴ You have been rebellious against Yahweh from the day I knew you.

¹⁸ Hence place these my words in your heart and in your soul, and tie them as a sign on your hand, and let them come to be as brow-bands between your eyes.

¹⁸ As for Yahweh, He affirms today that you are to be for Him a special people, just as He promised to you, and that you are to observe all His instructions;" ¹⁹ then He promises to give you supremacy over all the nations which He has made, for praise, for a name and for beauty, and for you to be a people holy to Yahweh your Elohim just as He has promised.

¹⁵ It will come to be if you do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe and to do all His instructions and His statutes that I am enjoining on you today, that all these maledictions will come on you and overtake you.

²² Yahweh shall smite you with attenuation, with fever and inflammation, with hot heat and drought, with blasting and mildew, and they will pursue you until you perish.

²⁵ Yahweh shall make you to be struck down before your enemies. By a single road shall you go forth to them, and by seven roads shall you flee before them. So you will become an object of commotion to all the kingdoms of the earth.

³⁷ You will become an object of astonishment, a proverb and a byword among all the peoples where Yahweh shall lead you.

⁵³ Then you will eat the fruit of your own belly, the flesh of your sons and your daughters whom Yahweh your Elohim will have given to you, in the siege and in the constraint with which your enemy shall constrain you.

⁶⁴ And Yahweh will scatter you among all the peoples from one end of the earth unto the other end of the earth. There you will serve other elohim, those of wood and stone which you have not known, neither you nor your fathers.

¹⁸ Beware lest there may be among you a man or woman or family or tribe whose heart today is turning around from being with Yahweh our Elohim to go to serve the elohim of those nations; beware lest there may be among you a root, being fruitful with poison and wormwood.

²⁰ Yahweh shall not be willing to pardon him, because then Yahweh's anger and His jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the imprecation that is written in this scroll will lie on him. Yahweh will wipe out his name from under the heavens;" ²¹ and Yahweh will separate him from all the tribes of Israel for the evil visitation according to all the imprecations of the covenant that is written in this scroll of the law.

¹ It will come to be, when all these things come on you, the blessing and the malediction which I put before you, that you will recall them to your heart among all the nations where Yahweh your Elohim will have expelled yo. ² and that you will return again to Yahweh your Elohim and hearken to His voice according to all that I am instructing you today, you and your sons, with all your heart and with all your soul. ³ Then Yahweh your Elohim will turn back your captivity and show compassion to you; He will return and convene you from all the peoples where Yahweh your Elohim will have scattered you.

Yet this people will rise and prostitute after the elohim of the foreigners of the land where they are entering to be among them; and they will forsake Me and annul My covenant that I contracted with them. ¹⁷ My anger will grow hot against them on that day, and I will forsake them and conceal My face from them; then they will come to be devoured, and many evils and distresses will find them. Then they will say on that day:Is it not because our Elohim is not among us that these evils have found us? ¹⁸ Yet I shall conceal, yea conceal My face from them on that day on account of all the evil which they will have done, for they will have turned around to other elohim.

²⁰ When I shall bring them to the ground gushing with milk and honey about which I had sworn to their fathers, when they eat and are satisfied and are sleek so that they turn around to other elohim and serve them, when they thus spurn Me and annul My covenant,

²⁸ Assemble to me all the elders of your tribes and your superintendents, and let me speak in their ears all these words, and let me summon the heavens and the earth to testify against them. ²⁹ For I know that after my death you shall bring ruin, yea ruin on yourselves; you will withdraw from the way that I enjoined on you, and the evil visitation will befall you in the latter days, for you shall do the thing that is evil in the eyes of Yahweh so as to provoke Him to vexation by the work of your hands. ³⁰ Then Moses spoke in the ears of the whole assembly of Israel the words of this song until they were finished.

⁴ The Rock--flawless is His contrivance, for all His ways are righteous judgment. The El of faithfulness and without iniquity; just and upright is He. ⁵ They have become corrupt before Him; no longer are they His sons because of their blemish:A generation perverse and twisted. ⁶ Is this what you requite to Yahweh, you decadent and unwise people? Is not He your Father Who acquired you? He Himself made you and established you.

¹⁵ When Yeshurun grew stout and kicked (you will be stout, thick and burly), then he abandoned Eloah Who had made him and disgraced the Rock of his salvation. ¹⁶ They made Him jealous with alien gods, with abhorrences they provoked Him to vexation.

²¹ As for them, they make Me jealous with a non-el. They provoke Me to vexation with their idols of vanity. As for Me, I shall make them jealous with a non-people; with a decadent nation shall I cause them vexation.

²³ I shall cause evils to sweep up over them; I shall exhaust My arrows among them

³⁰ How could one pursue a thousand or two put a myriad to flight, if it were not that their Rock had sold them, and Yahweh had surrounded them? ³¹ For their rock is not like our Rock; even our enemies are umpires.

³⁵ for the day of vengeance and repayment, for the season when their foot shall slip? For the day of their calamity is near, and impending doom hurries upon them.

³⁹ See now that I, I am He, and there is no other elohim besides Me. I Myself put to death, and I keep alive; I have transfixed, and I Myself shall heal, and there is no one who could reclaim from My hand!"

⁴³ Jubilate, O heavens, together with Him, and worship Him, all the messengers of Elohim! Jubilate, O nations, with His people! For the blood of His servants shall He avenge, vengeance to His foes shall He return, and a propitiatory shelter shall He make for the ground of His people.

⁴⁹ Go up to this mount of the Abarim range (Mount Nebo which is in the country of Moab that is overlooking Jericho), and see the land of Canaan that I am giving to the sons of Israel for a holding;"

²⁹ and honey, and butter, and sheep, and cheese of kine, have brought nigh for David, and for the people who [are] with him to eat, for they said, `Your people [is] hungry, and weary, and thirsty, in the wilderness..

³¹ El! Perfect [is] His way, The saying of Yahweh is tried, A shield He [is] to all those trusting in Him. ³² For who is El save Yahweh? And who a Rock save our Elohim?

⁴⁷ Yahweh lives, and blessed [is] my Rock, And exalted is my Elohim--The Rock of my salvation.

³ He said--the Elohim of Israel--to me, He spoke--the Rock of Israel:He who is ruling over man [is] righteous, He is ruling in the fear of Elohim. ⁴ And as the light of morning he rises, A morning sun--no clouds! By the shining, by the rain, Tender grass of the earth!"

⁴³ You do hear in the heavens, the settled place of Your dwelling, and have done according to all that the stranger calls unto You for, in order that all the peoples of the earth may know Your name, to fear You like Your people Israel, and to know that Your name has been called on this house which I have builded.

¹³ And the high places that [are] on the front of Jerusalem, that [are] on the right of the mount of corruption, that Solomon king of Israel had built to Ashtoreth abomination of the Zidonians, and Chemosh abomination of Moab, and to Milcom abomination of the sons of Ammon, has the king defiled.

¹⁹ O Yahweh, for Your servant's sake, and according to Your own heart You have done all this greatness, to make known all these great things.

⁹ And what is needed, such as young bulls, rams and lambs for ascent offerings to Eloah of the heavens, wheat, salt, turbid wine and oil, according to the word of the priests in Jerusalem, let it be granted to them day by day without fail, ¹⁰ so that they may be offering fragrant incense to Eloah of the heavens and be praying for the life of the king and his sons. ¹¹ So a decree is being promulgated from me that, as for any man who violates this rescript, a beam shall be torn out of his house; and lifted up, he shall be impaled on it. And his house shall be turned into ruins on account of this. ¹² May Eloah Who made His Name tabernacle there, overturn any king or people that stretches out his hand to disobey this rescript by harming this House of Eloah in Jerusalem. I, Darius, have promulgated the decree. Let it be carried out thoroughly.

²⁰ The remaining requirements for the House of your Eloah which it falls to you to provide, you may provide from the king's house of depositories. ²¹ Now from me, king Artaxerxes, a decree is being promulgated to all the treasurers in the province Beyond-the-Stream, that everything that Ezra the priest, scholar in the edict of the Eloah of the heavens, may request from you, should be done promptly,

¹² And by a pillar of cloud You have led them by day, and by a pillar of fire by night, to lighten to them the way in which they go.

²⁵ And they capture fenced cities, and fat ground, and possess houses full of all good, digged-wells, vineyards, and olive-yards, and fruit-trees in abundance, and they eat, and are satisfied, and become fat, and delight themselves in Your great goodness.

¹⁸ For He Himself causes pain, and He shall bind up; He stabs, and His hands, they shall heal.

⁸ For ask, I pray, of the former generation, And establish yourself in the investigations of their fathers. ⁹ For we are of yesterday, and we know nothing, For our days on the earth are but a shadow. ¹⁰ Shall they not direct you, apprise you And bring forth declarations from their heart?

⁵ He is the One shifting mountains, and they do not know it, Who overturns them in His anger, ⁶ The One disturbing the earth from its place, So that its columns are shuddering,

⁷ Although Your knowledge is that I am not wicked, And there is no one rescuing from Your hand? ⁸ Your hands shaped me and made me; Yet afterward You swallow me up round about.

¹⁰ If He should pass on by or lock up Or assemble a court, who could turn Him back?

²⁴ Why should You conceal Your face And reckon me as Your enemy?

¹⁷ My transgression shall be sealed up in a pouch, And You shall cover over my depravity.

¹⁰ Wherefore, men of wise heart, hearken to me:Far be it from El to do wickedness, And Him Who Suffices to do iniquity.

²⁹ When He is quiet, who can condemn? When He conceals His face, who can regard Him? Yet He is over a nation and over humanity alike.

¹⁴ How much less when you complain you are not regarding Him, That adjudication is set before Him, and you are awaiting Him?

⁴ For You are not an El Whose delight is in wickedness; Evil may not sojourn with You.

⁸ Yahweh, He shall adjudicate the peoples; Judge me, O Yahweh, according to my righteousness, And according to my integrity, O Supreme.

²⁰ If we had forgotten the Name of our Elohim And spread out our palms to an alien el, ²¹ Would not Elohim Himself investigate this? For He is knowing the obscured secrets of the heart. ²² For on Your account we are killed the entire day; We are reckoned as a flock for slaughter.

¹⁰ And there comes, in that day, the Root of Jesse, Who will stand for a Banner of the peoples; of Him will the nations inquire, and His rest will come to be glorious."

¹⁶ And saying are you, `No. For on horses will we flee,' therefore you shall flee. And `On the fleet will we ride.' ³³ for arranged since yesterday was the pyre. Moreover it is prepared, yea prepared, for the king, He deepens, He widens its abode for fire and much wood. The breath of Yahweh, as a watercourse of sulphur, is consuming in it."

⁴ Who contrives and does these things, calling generations from the beginning? I, Yahweh, the First, and to the last times I am He!"

³ For I, Yahweh, am your Elohim, The Holy One of Israel, your Redeemer. And I give Egypt for your shelter; Ethiopia and Seba in your stead." ⁴ You are more precious than riches, in My eyes. Glorified are you, and I, I love you. And I will give humanity in your stead, and folkstems in your soul's stead."

Then your welfare will become as a stream, and your righteousness as billows of the sea." ¹⁹ Then your seed will become as the sand of the sea, and the offspring of your bowels as the soil of the land. ² I spread out My hands all the day to a stubborn and contentious people, those going the way which is not good, after their own devices, ³ the people who are vexing Me to My face continually, they who are sacrificing in gardens, and fuming incense on bricks to demons, ⁴ who dwell in the tombs, and among the rocks are lodging because of dreams, who are eating the flesh of swine, and the broth of vile sacrifices is in their vessels, ⁵ who are saying, `Keep near to yourself! You must not come close to me, for I am holier than you.' These are a smoke in My nose, a fire which is glowing all the day."

⁶ A sound of tumult from the city! A sound from the temple! The voice of Yahweh repaying requital to His enemies!

²¹ `The perfume that you made in the cities of Judah, and in the streets of Jerusalem, you, and your fathers, your kings, and your heads, and the people of the land, has not Yahweh remembered it? yea, it comes up on His heart." <sup>22</sup> And Yahweh is not able any more to accept [you], because of the evil of your doings, because of the abominations that you have done, and your land is for a waste, and for an astonishment, and for a reviling, without inhabitant, as [at] this day." <sup>23</sup> `Because that you have made perfume, and because you have sinned against Yahweh, and have not hearkened to the voice of Yahweh, and in His law, and in His statutes, and in His testimonies you have not walked, therefore has this evil met you as [at] this day.'"

¹⁰ And that day [is] to the Lord Yahweh of Hosts A day of vengeance, To be avenged of His adversaries, And the sword has devoured, and been satisfied, And it has been watered from their blood, For a sacrifice [is] to the Lord Yahweh of Hosts, In the land of the north, by the river Phrat."

²⁹ Summon unto Babylon archers, all treading the bow, Encamp against her round about, Let [her] have no escape; Recompense to her according to her work, According to all that she did--do to her, For unto Yahweh she has been proud, Unto the Holy One of Israel."

¹⁹ Arise, make appeal in the night at the beginning of the vigils; Pour out your heart like water before the presence of Yahweh; Lift your palms to Him for the soul of your infants who droop in famine at the head of every street." ²⁰ See, O Yahweh, and look at those whom You have dealt severely thus; Should women be eating their own fruit, their infants cradled in arms? Should priest and prophet be killed in the sanctuary of Yahweh? ²¹ They lie on the earth of the streets, youth and elder, My virgins and my choice young men, they have fallen by the sword; You have killed in the day of Your anger; You have slaughtered and have not spared;" ²² You have called as on a day of appointment my sojourners from round about, So that in a day of Yahweh's anger there was no delivered one or survivor; Those whom I cradled in arms and made to increase, my enemy has consumed them."

⁴⁵ Your mother's daughter you [are], Loathing her husband and her sons, And your sisters' sister you [are], Who loathed their husbands and their sons, Your mother [is] a Hittite, and your father an Amorite." ⁴⁶ And your elder sister [is] Samaria, she and her daughters, Who is dwelling at your left hand, And your younger sister, who is dwelling on your right hand, [is] Sodom and her daughters." ⁴⁷ And--in their ways you have not walked, And according to their abominations done, As a little thing it has been loathed, And you do more corruptly than they in all your ways." ⁴⁸ I live--an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh, Sodom your sister has not done--she and her daughters--As you have done--you and your daughters." ⁴⁹ Lo, this has been the iniquity of Sodom your sister, Arrogancy, fulness of bread, and quiet ease, Have been to her and to her daughters, And the hand of the afflicted and needy She has not strengthened." ⁵⁰ And they are haughty and do abomination before Me, And I turn them aside when I have seen." ⁵¹ As to Samaria, as the half of your sins--she has not sinned, And you do multiply your abominations more than they, And do justify your sisters by all your abominations that you have done."

⁹ `Son of man, prophesy, and you have said, Thus said Yahweh, say:A sword, a sword is sharpened, and also polished." ¹⁰ So as to slaughter a slaughter it is sharpened. So as to have brightness it is polished, Desire has rejoiced the sceptre of my son, It is despising every tree." ¹¹ And he gives it for polishing, For laying hold of by the hand. It is sharpened--the sword--and polished, To give it into the hand of a slayer." ¹² Cry and howl, son of man, For it has been among My people, It [is] among all the princes of Israel, Cast unto the sword have been My people. Therefore strike on your thigh, ¹³ Because [it is] a trier, And what if even the sceptre it is despising? It shall not be, an affirmation of the Lord Yahweh." ¹⁴ And you, son of man, prophesy, And smite hand on hand, And bent is the sword a third time, The sword of the wounded! It [is] the sword of the wounded--the great one, That is entering the inner chamber to them." ¹⁵ To melt the heart, and to multiply the ruins, By all their gates I have set the point of a sword. Ah, it is made for brightness, Wrapped up for slaughter."

⁵ Therefore, thus said the Lord Yahweh:Have I not, in the fire of My jealousy, Spoken against the remnant of the nations, And against Edom--all of it, Who gave My land to themselves for a possession, With the joy of the whole heart--with despite of soul, For the sake of casting it out for a prey?

⁴ and the man speaks unto me:`Son of man, see with your eyes, And with your ears hear, And set your heart to all that I am showing you, For, in order to show [it] you, You have been brought in hither, Declare all that you are seeing to the house of Israel.'"

⁴⁷ Answering is the king to Daniel and saying, "In verity, your Eloah, He is the Eloah of elohim, Lord of kings, and only Revealer of hidden secrets, seeing that you can reveal this secret."

²⁹ Now from me shall be promulgated a decree that, in every people, league, and language-group, whoever is saying aught carelessly against their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--shall be dismembered and his house shall be the equivalent of a confiscation, forasmuch as there is actually not another Eloah Who can rescue as this One."

In a severance of the rousers is the rescript, and in a statement of the saints is the request, unto the intent that the living shall know that the Supreme is in authority in the kingdom of mortals, and to whom He is willing is He giving it, and a low one of mortals is He setting over it.'"

³⁰ Responding is the king to all this by saying, "Is not this Babylon great that I have built to be the house of the kingdom within the might of my safeguarding walls, for the esteem of my honor!" ³¹ While the matter is still in the mouth of the king, a voice falls from the heavens, "To you are they saying, King Nebuchadnezzar:The kingdom passes away from you." ³² From mortals are they shoving you, and with the animals of the field is your abode. Herbage will they feed to you, as oxen. Thus seven seasons shall pass on over you till you shall know that the Supreme is in authority in the kingdom of mortals and to whom He is willing He is giving it." ³³ In the same hour the declaration gathered on Nebuchadnezzar:From mortals is he shoved, herbage is he eating, as oxen, and the night mist of the heavens is streaking his frame, till his hair increased as vultures' feathers and his claws are as those of birds." ³⁴ And at the end of the days, I, Nebuchadnezzar, lifted my eyes to the heavens, and my knowledge is returning to me. Then I blessed the Supreme, and I lauded and honored Him Who is living for the eon, seeing that His jurisdiction is an eonian jurisdiction, and His kingdom is with generation after generation." ³⁵ All abiding on the earth are reckoned as naught:According to His will is He doing in the army of the heavens and with those abiding on the earth. And no one will actually clap with his hands and say to Him, "What doest Thou? ³⁶ In the stated time my knowledge is returning to me:For the esteem of my kingdom, my honor and my aspect is returning to me. And to me my retinue and my grandees are petitioning, and over my kingdom I am set in due order, and excellent majesty was added to me." ³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, am lauding and exalting and honoring the King of the heavens, seeing that all His deeds are verity, and His paths are adjudication; and all walking in pride He can abase."

³⁷ Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, am lauding and exalting and honoring the King of the heavens, seeing that all His deeds are verity, and His paths are adjudication; and all walking in pride He can abase."

¹⁸ You, O king! The Supreme Eloah granted the kingdom and majesty and esteem and honor to Nebuchadnezzar your grandfather."

²⁶ From before me is promulgated this decree:In every authority of my kingdom be they stirred and terrified before Daniel's Eloah:He is the living Eloah and is set up for the eons. His kingdom shall not come to harm and His jurisdiction is till the terminus. ²⁷ He is delivering and rescuing. He is doing signs and amazing things in the heavens and on the earth--He Who delivers Daniel from the paws of the lions."

⁶ My people shall be stilled because of failing knowledge, seeing that you reject knowledge. Then I am rejecting you from being a priest for Me, and as you are forgetting the law of your Elohim, I will forget your sons--even I."

¹ Go, and we will return to Yahweh, our Elohim, for He tore to pieces, and He will heal us:He was smiting, and He will bind us up."

⁴ What shall I do to you, Ephraim? What shall I do to you, Judah? When your kindness is as a cloud of the morning, and as the early going night mist."

⁹ Deeply they ruin as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their depravity and will note their sins.

¹² For, if they are bringing up their sons, then will I bereave them of a human, for, moreover, woe to them when My control is away from them!"

⁵ I grazed you in the wilderness, in the land of droughts." ⁶ And according to their pasture they were satisfied; they were satisfied, and their heart is exalting; therefore they forgot Me."

² But you do I know of all the families of the ground, therefore will I visit on you all your depravities." ³ Shall two walk together, if they fail to make an appointment?

¹ Hear this word, young cows of Bashan, which are in the mountain of Samaria, the ones extorting the poor, the ones bruising the needy, the ones saying to their lords, Bring, and let us drink."

²⁵ For I am not willing for you to be ignorant of this secret, brethren, lest you may be passing for prudent among yourselves, that callousness, in part, on Israel has come, until the complement of the nations may be entering."

¹⁹ you are not avenging yourselves, beloved, but be giving place to His indignation, for it is written, Mine is vengeance! I will repay! the Lord is saying. "

⁴ For it is God's servant for your good. Now if you should be doing evil, fear, for not feignedly is it wearing the sword. For it is God's servant, an avenger for indignation to him who is committing evil."

⁹ Yet the nations are to glorify God for His mercy, according as it is written, "Therefore I shall be acclaiming Thee among the nations,And to Thy name shall I be playing music." ¹⁰ And again he is saying, "Be merry, ye nations, with His people!" ¹¹ And again he is saying, "Praise the Lord, all the nations,And "let all the peoples laud Him." ¹² And again Isaiah is saying, there will be "the root of Jesse, And He Who is rising to Chief of the nations: On Him will the nations rely." ¹³ Now may the God of expectation be filling you with all joy and peace in believing, for you to be super-abounding in expectation, in the power of holy spirit."

⁶ I plant, Apollos irrigates, but God makes it grow up." ⁷ So that, neither is he who is planting anything, nor he who is irrigating, but God Who makes it grow up." ⁸ Now he who is planting and he who is irrigating are for one thing. Yet each will be getting his own wages according to his own toil.

⁵ So that, be not judging anything before the season, till the Lord should be coming, Who will also illuminate the hidden things of darkness and manifest the counsels of the hearts. And then applause will be coming to each one from God."

³ Yet I fear lest somehow, as the serpent deludes Eve by its craftiness, your apprehensions should be corrupted from the singleness and pureness which is in Christ. "

¹¹ For the saving grace of God made its advent to all humanity, ¹² training us that, disowning irreverence and worldly desires, we should be living sanely and justly and devoutly in the current eon, ¹³ anticipating that happy expectation, even the advent of the glory of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ, ¹⁴ Who gives Himself for us, that He should be redeeming us from all lawlessness and be cleansing for Himself a people to be about Him, zealous for ideal acts."

⁷ For land which is drinking the shower coming often on it, and bringing forth herbage fit for those because of whom it is being farmed also, is partaking of blessing from God;"

¹⁷ in which God, intending more superabundantly to exhibit to the enjoyers of the allotment of the promise the immutability of His counsel, interposes with an oath, ¹⁸ that by two immutable matters, in which it is impossible for God to lie, we may have a strong consolation, who are fleeing for refuge to lay hold of the expectation lying before us,

³⁰ For we are acquainted with Him Who is saying, Mine is vengeance! I will repay! the Lord is saying, and again, "The Lord will be judging His people"

³ By faith we are apprehending the eons to adjust to a declaration of God, so that what is being observed has not come out of what is appearing."

⁶ Now apart from faith it is impossible to be well pleasing, for he who is coming to God must believe that He is, and is becoming a Rewarder of those who are seeking Him out."

¹³ In faith died all these, not being requited with the promises, but perceiving them ahead and saluting them, and avowing that they are strangers and expatriates on the earth. "

³⁹ And these all, being testified to through faith, are not requited with the promise of God concerning us"

¹⁵ supervising, that no one be wanting of the grace of God, nor any root of bitterness, sprouting up, may be annoying you, and through this the majority may be defiled,

²⁹ for our God is also a consuming fire.

¹⁷ All good giving and every perfect gratuity is from above, descending from the Father of lights, in Whom there is no mutation or shadow from revolving motion."

¹² One is Lawgiver and Judge, Who is able to save and to destroy. Now who are you who are judging an associate?

⁶ Because of this it is included in the scripture: Lo! I am laying in Zion a corner capstone, chosen, held in honor, and he who is believing on it may by no means be disgraced."

⁸ and a stumbling stone and a snare rock; who are stumbling also at the word, being stubborn, to which they were appointed also." ⁹ Yet you are a chosen race, a "royal priesthood,a "holy nation,a procured people, so that you should be recounting the virtues of Him Who calls you out of darkness into His marvelous light, ¹⁰ who once were "not a peopleyet now are the people of God, who "have not enjoyed mercy,yet now are "being shown mercy."

¹⁰ for He who is wanting to love life and be acquainted with good days, Let his tongue cease from evil And his lips speak no guile." ¹¹ Now let him avoid evil and do good. Let him seek peace and pursue it, ¹² For the eyes of the Lord are on the just And His ears are for their petition, Yet the face of the Lord is on evil doers."

¹⁷ seeing that it is the era for the judgment to begin from the house of God. Now if first from us, what is the consummation of those who are stubborn as to God's evangel?

³ So has all of His divine power, that tends to life and devoutness, been presented to us through the recognition of Him Who calls us to His own glory and virtue;"

¹⁶ For not by following wisely made myths do we make known to you the power and presence of our Lord, Jesus Christ, but by becoming spectators of His magnificence."

¹ Yet there came to be false prophets also among the people, as among you also there will be false teachers who will be smuggling in destructive sects, even disowning the Owner Who buys them, bringing on themselves swift destruction."

³ and in greed, with suave words, they will traffic in you, whose judgment of old is not idling, and their destruction is not nodding."

⁸ Now of this one thing you are not to be oblivious, beloved, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years and a thousand years as one day." ⁹ The Lord is not tardy as to the promise, as some are deeming tardiness, but is patient because of you, not intending any to perish, but all to make room for repentance." ¹⁰ Now the day of the Lord will be arriving as a thief, in which the heavens shall be passing by with a booming noise, yet the elements shall be dissolved by combustion, and the earth and the works in it shall be found."

¹ Perceive what manner of love the Father has given us, that we may be called children of God! And we are! Therefore the world does not know us, for it did not know Him."

¹¹ saying, "What you are observing write into a scroll and send it to the seven ecclesias: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamum and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea."

¹⁷ And when I perceived Him, I fall at His feet as dead. And He places His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear! I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ and the Living One: and I became dead, and lo! living am I for the eons of the eons. (Amen!) And I have the keys of death and of the unseen."

⁸ And to the messenger of the ecclesia in Smyrna write: `Now, this He is saying Who is the First and the Last, Who became dead, and lives:"

¹⁰ And they cry with a loud voice, saying, "Till when, O Owner, holy and true, art Thou not judging and avenging our blood on those dwelling on the earth?

²⁰ And the rest of mankind, who were not killed in these calamities, repent not of the acts of their hands- that they will not be worshiping the demons and idols of gold and silver and copper and stone and wood, which are neither able to be observing nor to be hearing nor to be walking-."

⁵ And the messenger whom I perceived standing on the sea and on the land lifts his right hand to heaven ⁶ and swears by Him Who is living for the eons of the eons, Who creates heaven and that which is in it, and the earth and that which is in it, and the sea and that which is in it, that there will be no longer a time of delay,

⁴ And its tail is dragging a third of the stars of heaven, and casts them into the earth. And the dragon stands before the woman who is about to be bringing forth, that it may be devouring her child whenever she may be bringing forth"

² And I perceived as it were a glassy sea, mixed with fire, and those who come off conquerors from the wild beast, and from its image, and from the number of its name, standing on the glassy sea, having the lyres of the Lord God." ³ And they are singing the song of Moses, the slave of God, and the song of the Lambkin, saying, "Great and marvelous are Thy acts, Lord God Almighty! Just and true are Thy ways, King of the eons!" ⁴ Who may by no means be afraid of Thee, Lord, And glorify Thy name? For Thou only art benign. For all the nations shall arrive And worship before Thee, For Thy just awards were made manifest."

² And he cries with a strong voice, saying, "It falls! It falls! Babylon the great! And it became the dwelling place of demons and the jail of every unclean spirit and the cage of every unclean and hateful bird,

And the dead were judged by that which is written in the scrolls in accord with their acts." ¹³ And the sea gives up the dead in it, and death and the unseen give up the dead in them. And they were condemned, each in accord with their acts."

¹⁴ Happy are those who are rinsing their robes, that it will be their license to the log of life, and they may be entering the portals into the city."
