Deuteronomy 24:4 Cross References - CLV

⁴ then her possessor (the former one who had sent her away) shall not be able to reverse himself to take her back to become his wife after she had had herself defiled, for that is an abhorrence before Yahweh. You shall not bring about sin in the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment.

²⁴ Do not defile yourselves in any of these ways. For in all of these the nations which I am dismissing before your face are defiled. ²⁵ Since the land is unclean I shall visit its depravity on it, and the land shall vomit out its dwellers. ²⁶ As for you, you will observe My statutes and My judgments, and not do any of these abhorrences, either the native or the sojourner sojourning in your mids. ²⁷ (for the men of the land who were before you have done all these abhorrences, and the land is unclean), ²⁸ so that the land shall not vomit you out when you defile it, just as it vomited out the nations which were before you.

¹⁷ Is the iniquity of Peor little to us, from which we have not been cleansed till this day--and the plague is in the company of Yahweh, ¹⁸ that you turn back to-day from after Yahweh? and it has been--you rebel to-day against Yahweh--and to-morrow against all the company of Israel He is wroth.

¹ Saying, `Lo, one sends away his wife, And she has gone from him, And she has been to another man, Does he turn back unto her again? Greatly defiled is not that land? And you have committed whoredom with many lovers, And turn again to Me, an affirmation of Yahweh."
