Deuteronomy 20:18 Cross References - CLV

¹⁸ that they may not teach you to act according to all their abhorrences which they do for their elohim so that you might sin against Yahweh your Elohim.

³³ They shall not dwell in your land lest they should make you sin against Me so that you serve their elohim, and that it should come to be a trap for you.

¹⁶ If you would take of his daughters for your sons and give your daughters to their sons, then his daughters would prostitute after their elohim and cause your sons to prostitute after their elohim.

⁴ For it might take away your son from following after Me, and they might serve other elohim, and the anger of Yahweh would grow hot against you, and He would exterminate you quickly. ⁵ But rather, thus shall you do to them:you shall tear down their altars, break their monuments, hack down their Asherah poles, and you shall burn their carvings with fire.

³⁰ Guard yourself lest you should be trapped to go after them after they are exterminated before your face, and lest you inquire about their elohim, saying:How do these nations serve their elohim that I, I too, may do thus? ³¹ You shall not act thus toward Yahweh your Elohim, for every abhorrence which Yahweh hates they perform for their elohim, for even their sons and their daughters they burn with fire for their elohim.

¹⁹ Yet it will come to be that the man who should not hearken to My words that the Prophet shall speak in My name, I Myself shall require his blood from him.

¹³ know certainly that Yahweh your Elohim is not continuing to dispossess these nations from before you, and they have been to you for a gin, and for a snare, and for a scourge, in your sides, and for thorns in your eyes, till you perish from off this good ground which Yahweh your Elohim has given to you.

³ And I also have said, I do not cast them out from your presence, and they have been to you for adversaries, and their elohims are to you for a snare..

³⁴ They did not exterminate the peoples As Yahweh had commanded them. ³⁵ They mixed with the nations, And they learned their customs." ³⁶ They served their fetishes, And these came to be a trap for them." ³⁷ They sacrificed their sons And their daughters to demons; ³⁸ So they shed innocent blood, The blood of their sons and their daughters, Whom they sacrificed to the fetishes of Canaan, And the land was polluted with bloodshed." ³⁹ Thus they defiled themselves by their deeds, And they prostituted themselves by their actions." ⁴⁰ So the anger of Yahweh grew hot against His people, And He abhorred His allotment."

³³ Be not deceived: evil conversations are corrupting kind characters.

¹⁷ Wherefore, Come out of their midst and be severed, the Lord is saying. And touch not the unclean, and I will admit you,

¹¹ And be not joint participants in the unfruitful acts of darkness, yet rather be exposing them also,

¹⁴ Now if anyone is not obeying our word through this epistle, let it be a sign to you as to this man, not to commingle with him, that he may be abashed;"

⁵ altercations of men of a decadent mind and deprived of the truth, inferring that devoutness is capital."

¹⁷ and their word will spread as gangrene, of whom are Hymeneus and Philetus, ¹⁸ who swerve as to truth, saying that the resurrection has already occurred, and are subverting the faith of some."

³ for, as a result of the wine of the fury of her prostitution have all the nations fallen. And the kings of the earth commit prostitution with her,and the merchants of the earth are rich as a result of her power to indulge." ⁴ And I hear another voice out of heaven, saying, "Come out of her, My people, lest you should be joint participants in her sins, and lest you should be getting of her calamities, ⁵ for her sins were piled up to heaven, and God remembers her injuries."
