¹⁹ And from the majesty that He granted to him, all peoples, leagues, and language-groups were stirred and terrified before him. Whom he will he is despatching, and whom he will he is preserving alive; whom he will he exalts, and whom he will he abases."

¹⁴ The fury of a king is like many messengers of death, Yet a wise man shall appease it."

⁹ Lo, I am sending, and have taken all the families of the north--an affirmation of Yahweh--even unto Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and have brought them in against this land, and against its inhabitants, and against all these nations round about, and have devoted them, and appointed them for an astonishment, and for a hissing, and for wastes eonian." ¹⁰ And I have destroyed from them the voice of rejoicing, and the voice of joy, voice of bridegroom and voice of bride, noise of millstones, and the light of lamps." ¹¹ And all this land has been for a waste, for an astonishment, and these nations have served the king of Babylon seventy years." ¹² `And it has come to pass, at the fulness of seventy years, I charge against the king of Babylon, and against that nation--an affirmation of Yahweh--their iniquity, and against the land of the Chaldeans, and have appointed it for desolations eonian." ¹³ And I have brought in on that land all My words that I have spoken against it, all that is written in this book, that Jeremiah has prophesied concerning all the nations." ¹⁴ For laid service on them--also them--have many nations and great kings, and I have given recompence to them according to their doing, and according to the work of their hands."

⁵ Thus do you say unto your lords, I--I have made the earth with man, and the cattle that [are] on the face of the earth, by My great power, and by My stretched-out arm, and I have given it to whom it has been right in Mine eyes." ⁶ `And now, I--I have given all these lands into the hand of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon, My servant, and also the beast of the field I have given to him to serve him;" ⁷ And served him have all the nations, and his son, and his son's son, till the coming in of the time of his land, also it; and done service for him have many nations and great kings."

¹² Wherefore the king is angry and has great wrath, and says to destroy all the wise men of Babylon." ¹³ Then the edict is issued to despatch all the wise men, and they seek Daniel and all his partners to be dispatched."

⁴ Then the herald is calling with potency to the throng, "To you it is commanded, O nations, peoples, leagues and language-groups!"

⁶ And whoever shall not fall down and worship, in the same hour shall he be heaved into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace."

²⁰ And to the masters--masters of valor that are in his army--he says to truss up Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego and heave them into the glowing flaming furnace." ²¹ Then these masters truss them up in their mantles, their turbans on their heads, their garb and their clothing, and heave them into the midst of the glowing, flaming furnace."

²⁹ Now from me shall be promulgated a decree that, in every people, league, and language-group, whoever is saying aught carelessly against their Eloah--that of Shadrach, Meshach and Abed-nego--shall be dismembered and his house shall be the equivalent of a confiscation, forasmuch as there is actually not another Eloah Who can rescue as this One."

²² you it is, O king, seeing that you are increased and mighty, and your grandeur is increased, and reaches to the heavens, and your authority to the extremity of the earth."

⁵ And, indeed, seeing that the wine is treacherous; the master is ostentatious, and he is not resting, who widens his soul as the unseen, and he is as death and is not satisfied. And he is gathering to him all the nations, and he is convening to him all the peoples."

¹¹ Jesus answered him, "No authority have you against Me in anything, except it were given to you from above. Therefore he who is giving Me up to you has the greater sin."

¹ Let every soul be subject to the superior authorities, for there is no authority except under God. Now those which are, have been set under God,
