¹⁶ and the messenger puts forth his hand to Jerusalem to destroy it, and Yahweh repents concerning the evil, and said to the messenger who is destroying among the people, `Enough, now, cease your hand;' and the messenger of Yahweh was near the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite.

⁶ And regretting is Yahweh Elohim that He made humanity on the earth, and grieving to His heart.

¹⁶ and the Jebusite and the Amorite and the Girgashite

²⁸ Make an entreaty to Yahweh, for this is enough of there coming to be thundering sounds of Elohim and hail. Let me dismiss you; you shall not continue to stay.

¹³ Then the blood will become a sign for you on the houses where you are. When I see the blood I will pass over you. And there shall not come to be a stroke on you to cause ruin when I smite in the land of Egypt.

²³ When Yahweh passes through to strike the Egyptians and sees the blood on the lintel and on the two jambs then Yahweh will pass over the portal and shall not allow the ruiner to enter into your houses to strike.

¹⁴ So Yahweh showed mercy concerning the evil which He spoke of doing to His people.

⁶³ As to the Jebusites, inhabitants of Jerusalem, the sons of Judah have not been able to dispossess them, and the Jebusite dwells with the sons of Judah in Jerusalem unto this day.

²¹ And the Jebusite, inhabiting Jerusalem, the sons of Benjamin have not dispossessed; and the Jebusite dwells with the sons of Benjamin, in Jerusalem, till this day.

¹¹ They [are] near Jebus, and the day has gone greatly down, and the young man said unto his lord, `Come, I pray you, and we turn aside unto this city of the Jebusite, and lodge in it..

¹¹ `I have repented that I caused Saul to reign for king, for he has turned back from after Me, and My words he has not performed;' and it is displeasing to Samuel, and he cries unto Yahweh all the night.

⁸ And David said on that day, `Any one smiting the Jebusite, (let him go up by the watercourse), and the lame and the blind--the hated of David's soul,' --because the blind and lame say, `He does not come into the house..

¹⁸ And Gad comes in unto David on that day, and said to him, `Go up, raise to Yahweh an altar in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite;.

⁴ and he himself has gone into the wilderness a day's Journey, and comes and sits under a certain retem-tree, and desires his soul to die, and said, `Enough, now, O Yahweh, take my soul, for I [am] not better than my fathers..

³⁵ And it comes to pass, in that night, that a messenger of Yahweh goes out, and smites in the camp of Asshur a hundred eighty and five thousand, and they rise early in the morning, and lo, all of them [are] dead corpses.

¹⁵ and Elohim sends a messenger to Jerusalem to destroy it, and as he is destroying Yahweh has seen, and is comforted concerning the evil, and said to the messenger who [is] destroying, `Enough, now, cease your hand.' And the messenger of Yahweh is standing by the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, ¹⁶ and David lifts up his eyes, and sees the messenger of Yahweh standing between the earth and the heavens, and his sword drawn in his hand, stretched out over Jerusalem, and David falls, and the elders, covered with sackcloth, on their faces.

¹ And Solomon begins to build the house of Yahweh, in Jerusalem, in the mount of Moriah, where He appeared to David his father, in the place that David had prepared, in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite,

²¹ and Yahweh sends a messenger, and cuts off every mighty one of valor--both leader and head--in the camp of the king of Asshur, and he turns back with shame of face to his land, and enters the house of his elohim, and those coming out of his bowels have caused him to fall there by the sword.

⁶ Let their way become dark and slick surfaced, With a messenger of Yahweh pursuing them."

³⁸ Yet He was compassionate; He made a propitiatory shelter for depravity, And He did not bring ruin; He acted many times to reverse His anger, And He would not rouse all His fury."

¹³ Do turn back, O Yahweh! How long? Show Yourself merciful over Your servants."

¹⁴ For Yahweh shall adjudicate His people, And He shall show Himself merciful over His servants."

⁸ In moderation You did contend with her, when sending her away. He coos with His stiff wind in the day of the east wind."

¹ Comfort you, comfort you My people!saying is your Elohim." ² Speak you to the heart of Jerusalem, and call to her, for fulfilled is her enlistment, for run out is her depravity, for she takes from the hand of Yahweh a shelter from all her sins."

¹⁶ For not for the eon will I contend, nor will I be permanently wroth, in case the spirit from before Me shall droop, and all who have breath, that I made."

⁷ The moment I speak concerning a nation, And concerning a kingdom, To pluck up and to break down, and to destroy, ⁸ And that nation has turned from its evil, Because I have spoken against it, Then I have repented of the evil that I thought to do to it." ⁹ And the moment I speak concerning a nation, And concerning a kingdom, to build, and to plant, ¹⁰ And it has done the evil thing in Mine eyes, So as not to hearken to My voice, Then I have repented of the good That I have spoken of doing to it."

¹³ and tear your heart and not your garments, and return to Yahweh, your Elohim. For gracious and compassionate is He, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and He regrets over the evil." ¹⁴ Who is knowing, if He will return and regret, and let a blessing remain behind Him, an approach present and a libation for Yahweh, your Elohim?

³ Yahweh regrets over this. It shall not come to be, says Yahweh."

⁶ Yahweh regrets over this. Moreover, it shall not come to be, says my Lord Yahweh."

² WITH A SONG Yahweh, I hear Your report, I fear, Yahweh, Your contrivance; within the years make it live; within the years are You informing. In the disturbance You are remembering compassion."

⁷ And I will take away his blood from his mouth, and his abominations from between his teeth. Yet he that remains, moreover, shall be for our Elohim; and he will come to be as a mentor in Judah, and Ekron as a Jebusite."

⁴¹ And He is coming the third time and is saying to them, "Are you drowsing furthermore and resting? It is away. The hour came. Lo! the Son of Mankind is being given up into the hands of sinners."

²³ Now instantly a messenger of the Lord smites him, because he gives not the glory to God, and, becoming the food of worms, he gives up his soul."

⁶ Enough to such is this rebuke, which is by the majority."
