¹⁵ And David calls to one of the youths, and said, `Draw nigh--fall upon him;' and he smites him, and he dies;"

²⁰ And he said to Jether his first-born, `Rise, slay them;' and the young man has not drawn his sword, for he has been afraid, for he [is] yet a youth.

¹⁷ And the king said to runners, those standing by him, `Turn round, and put to death the priests of Yahweh, because their hand also [is] with David, and because they have known that he is fleeing, and have not uncovered mine ear;' and the servants of the king have not been willing to put forth their hand to come against the priests of Yahweh. <sup>18</sup> And the king said to Doeg, `Turn round you, and come against the priests;' and Doeg the Edomite turns round, and comes himself against the priests, and puts to death in that day eighty and five men bearing a linen ephod,

¹⁰ when one is declaring to me, saying, Lo, Saul is dead, and he was as a bearer of tidings in his own eyes, then I take hold on him, and slay him in Ziklag, instead of my giving to him [for] the tidings. ¹¹ Also--when wicked men have slain the righteous man in his own house, on his bed; and now, do not I require his blood of your hand, and have taken you away from the earth?. ¹² And David commands the young men, and they slay them, and cut off their hands and their feet, and hang [them] over the pool in Hebron, and the head of Ish-Bosheth they have taken, and bury [it] in the burying-place of Abner in Hebron.

²⁵ And king Solomon sends by the hand of Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he falls upon him, and he dies.

³⁴ And Benaiah son of Jehoiada goes up and falls upon him, and puts him to death, and he is buried in his own house in the wilderness,

⁴⁶ And the king charges Benaiah son of Jehoiada, and he goes out and falls on him, and he dies, and the kingdom is established in the hand of Solomon.

¹² He is annulling the devisings of the crafty, So that their hands may not achieve prosperity,

¹⁸ The wicked one makes false wages, Yet he who sows righteousness reaps faithful hire."
