⁸ `And now, you are saying to strengthen yourselves before the kingdom of Yahweh in the hand of the sons of David, and you [are] a numerous multitude, and with you calves of gold that Jeroboam has made to you for elohims.

²⁸ And the king takes counsel, and makes two calves of gold, and said unto them, `Enough to you of going up to Jerusalem; lo, your elohims, O Israel, which brought you up out of the land of Egypt..

⁹ and you do evil above all who have been before you, and go, and make to you other elohims and molten images to provoke Me to anger, and Me you have cast behind your back.

⁸ Let Yahweh your Elohim be blessed who has delighted in you, to put you on His throne for king for Yahweh your Elohim; in the love of your Elohim to Israel, to establish it to the eon, He has put you over them for king, to do judgment and righteousness..

¹⁵ and he establishes to him priests for high places, and for goats, and for calves, that he made-.

⁹ And come out unto them does Zerah the Cushite with a force of a thousand thousand, and chariots three hundred, and he comes in unto Mareshah, ¹⁰ and Asa goes out before him, and they set battle in array in the valley of Zephathah at Mareshah. ¹¹ And Asa calls unto Yahweh his Elohim, and said, `Yahweh! it is nothing with You to help, between the mighty and those who have no power; help us, O Yahweh, our Elohim, for on You we have leant, and in Your name we have come against this multitude; O Yahweh, our Elohim you [are]; let him not prevail with You--mortal man!"

⁶ and said, `O Yahweh, Elohim of our fathers, are not You--Elohim in the heavens? yea, You are ruling over all kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand [is] power and might, and there is none with You to station himself.

¹² `O our Elohim, do You not execute judgment upon them? for there is no power in us before this great multitude that has come against us, and we know not what we do, but on You [are] our eyes..

¹ Why are the nations perturbed? And why do the national groups mumble empty phrases? ² The kings of the earth are standing by, And the chancellors are gathered together Against Yahweh and against His Anointed, saying, ³ Let us pull away their bonds, And let us fling off their ropes from us. ⁴ The One sitting in the heavens, He shall ridicule; Yahweh, He shall deride them. ⁵ Then He shall speak to them in His anger, And in His hot anger He shall fill them with panic, saying, ⁶ I will pour a libation on My King, On Zion, My holy mountain.

¹⁶ The king is not saved by a great army; A master is not rescued by great vigor;

⁶ We will go up into Judah and end it, and we will rend it to us, and we will cause a king to reign in its midst--the son of Tabeal;"'" ⁷ Thus says my Lord, Yahweh of hosts, "This counsel shall not be confirmed, and it shall not come to pass."

⁶ For a Boy is born to us; a Son is given to us, and the chieftainship shall come to be on His shoulder, and His name is called "Marvelous.Counsel to the master shall He bring, to the chief of the future, welfare." ⁷ To the increase of the chieftainship, and to the welfare shall be no end. On the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to prepare it, and to brace it with judgment and with justice, henceforth and in the future eon. The zeal of Yahweh of hosts will do this."

⁵ Cast off your calf, Samaria! Hot is My anger against them. Till when are they being incapable of innocency? ⁶ For even this is from Israel; an artificer made it, and no Elohim is it, for backslidings are coming to be by your calf, Samaria."

¹⁴ Now his citizens hated him, and they dispatch an embassy after him, saying, 'We do not want this man to reign over us!'"

²⁷ However, these, my enemies, who are not willing for me to reign over them-lead them here and slay them in front of me.'"
