1 Thessalonians 5:4 Cross References - CLV

⁴ Now you, brethren, are not in darkness, that the day may be overtaking you as a thief,

⁶ Otherwise the redeemer of blood may pursue after the manslayer while his heart is furious, and he may overtake him because the road is long enough, and he may smite his soul even though he had no judgment of death, seeing that he was not hating him heretofore.

¹⁵ It will come to be if you do not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe and to do all His instructions and His statutes that I am enjoining on you today, that all these maledictions will come on you and overtake you.

⁴⁵ All the maledictions will come on you, and they will pursue you and overtake you until you are exterminated, for you would not hearken to the voice of Yahweh your Elohim to observe His instructions and His statutes that He enjoined on you.

¹⁶ then it has come to pass, the sword that you are afraid of, does there overtake you, in the land of Egypt; and the hunger, because of which you are sorrowful, does there cleave after you in Egypt, and there you die."

⁹ More than in the days of Gibeah do you sin, Israel; there they stood! In Gibeah the battle against the sons of iniquity is not overtaking them."

⁶ Yea, My words and My statutes, which you have received, which I instruct, by My spirit, My servants the prophets, did they not overtake your forefathers? And they are turning away and are saying:Just as Yahweh of hosts plans to do to us, as fits our ways and our actions, so He does with us."

¹⁸ to open their eyes, to turn them about from darkness to light and from the authority of Satan to God, for them to get a pardon of sins and an allotment among those who have been hallowed by faith that is in Me.'"

¹¹ This, also, do, being aware of the era, that it is already the hour for us to be roused out of sleep, for now is our salvation nearer than when we believe." ¹² The night progresses, yet the day is near. We, then, should be putting off the acts of darkness, yet should be putting on the implements of light." ¹³ As in the day, respectably, should we be walking, not in revelries and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and jealousy,

¹³ Who rescues us out of the jurisdiction of Darkness, and transports us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

⁹ Yet you are a chosen race, a "royal priesthood,a "holy nation,a procured people, so that you should be recounting the virtues of Him Who calls you out of darkness into His marvelous light, ¹⁰ who once were "not a peopleyet now are the people of God, who "have not enjoyed mercy,yet now are "being shown mercy."

¹⁰ Now the day of the Lord will be arriving as a thief, in which the heavens shall be passing by with a booming noise, yet the elements shall be dissolved by combustion, and the earth and the works in it shall be found."

⁸ Again, a new precept am I writing to you, which is true in Him and in you, for the darkness is passing by, and the true light already is appearing."

³ Remember, then, how you have obtained, and hear; keep it and repent. If ever, then, you should not be watching, I shall be arriving on you as a thief, and under no circumstances will you be knowing what hour I shall be arriving on you."
