² Only, the people are sacrificing in high places, for there has not been built a house for the name of Yahweh till those days.

³ Any man from the house of Israel who slays a bull or a sheep or a goat in the camp, or who slays it outside the camp, ⁴ and does not bring it to the opening of the tent of appointment so as to bring it near as an approach present to Yahweh before the tabernacle of Yahweh, bloodshed shall be accounted to that man. He has shed blood; hence that man will be cut off from among his people. ⁵ This is in order that the sons of Israel may bring their sacrifices which they have been sacrificing on the surface of the field--that they bring them before Yahweh, to the priest at the opening of the tent of appointment, and sacrifice them as sacrifices of peace offerings to Yahweh. ⁶ Then the priest will sprinkle the blood against the altar of Yahweh at the opening of the tent of appointment, and he will cause the fat to fume as a fragrant odor to Yahweh.

³⁰ I will exterminate your fane heights, cut down your incense stands and bestow your corpses upon the corpses of your idol clods; thus My soul will loathe you.

² You shall destroy, yea destroy all the places where the nations (in whose stead you are tenanting) have served their elohim on the high mountains, on the hills and under every flourishing tree. ³ Tear down their altars and break their monuments; their Asherah poles you shall burn with fire, and the carvings of their elohim you shall hack down; thus you will destroy their name from that place. ⁴ Not so shall you do to Yahweh your Elohim. ⁵ But rather for the place that Yahweh your Elohim shall choose from all your tribes, to establish His name there, you shall inquire for His tabernacle, and there will you come.

³ `You have known David my father, that he has not been able to build a house to the name of Yahweh his Elohim, because of the wars that have been round about him, till Yahweh's putting them under the soles of his feet.

⁴³ And he walks in all the way of Asa his father, he has not turned aside from it, to do that which [is] right in the eyes of Yahweh; only the high places have not turned aside, yet are the people sacrificing and making perfume in high places.

⁴ `Go, and you have said unto David My servant, Thus said Yahweh, You do not build for Me the house to dwell in. ⁵ for I have not dwelt in a house from the day that I brought up Israel till this day, and I am from tent unto tent:and from the tabernacle, ⁶ whithersoever I have walked up and down among all Israel, a word spoke I, with one of the judges of Israel, whom I commanded to feed My people, saying, Why have you not built for Me a house of cedars?

³ and Elohim has said to me, You do not build a house to My name, for a man of wars you [are], and blood you have shed. ⁴ `And Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, does fix on me out of all the house of my father to be for king over Israel to the eon, for on Judah He has fixed for a leader, and in the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father, on me, [me] He has been pleased to make king over all Israel;" ⁵ and out of all my sons--for many sons has Yahweh given to me--He also fixes on Solomon my son, to sit on the throne of the kingdom of Yahweh over Israel, ⁶ and said to me, Solomon your son, he does build My house, and My courts, for I have fixed on him to Me for a son, and I--I am to him for a father,

¹⁷ but still the people are sacrificing in high places, only--to Yahweh their Elohim.

⁴⁷ Yet Solomon builds Him a house." ⁴⁸ But the Most High is not dwelling in what is made by hands, according as the prophet is saying, ⁴⁹ Heaven is My throne, yet the earth is a footstool for My feet. What kind of house shall be built for Me?the Lord is saying, or what is the place of My stopping?
