¹ And David said, `This is the house of Yahweh Elohim, and this the altar for burnt-offering for Israel.. <sup>2</sup> And David said to gather the sojourners who [are] in the land of Israel, and appoints hewers to hew hewn-stones to build a house of Elohim. <sup>3</sup> And iron in abundance for nails for leaves of the gates, and for couplings, has David prepared, and brass in abundance--there is no weighing. <sup>4</sup> And cedar-trees even without number, for the Zidonians and the Tyrians brought in cedar-trees in abundance to David. <sup>5</sup> And David said, `Solomon my son [is] a youth and tender, and the house to be built to Yahweh [is] to be made exceedingly great, for name and for beauty to all the lands; let me prepare, I pray You, for it;' and David prepares in abundance before his death. ⁶ And he calls for Solomon his son, and charges him to build a house to Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, ⁷ and David said to Solomon his son, `As for me, it has been with my heart to build a house to the name of Yahweh my Elohim, <sup>8</sup> and the word of Yahweh [is] against me, saying, Blood in abundance you have shed, and great wars you have made:you do not build a house to My name, for much blood you have shed to the earth before Me. <sup>9</sup> `Lo, a son is born to you; he is a man of rest, and I have given rest to him from all his enemies round about, for Solomon is his name, and peace and quietness I give unto Israel in his days;" ¹⁰ he does build a house to My name, and he is to Me for a son, and I [am] to him for a father, and I have established the throne of his kingdom over Israel unto the eon. ¹¹ `Now, my son, Yahweh is with you, and you have prospered, and have built the house of Yahweh your Elohim, as He spoke concerning you. <sup>12</sup> Only, Yahweh give to you wisdom and understanding, and charge you concerning Israel, even to keep the law of Yahweh your Elohim;" <sup>13</sup> then you do prosper, if you do observe to do the statutes and the judgments that Yahweh charged Moses with concerning Israel; be strong and courageous; do not fear, nor be cast down. <sup>14</sup> `And lo, in mine affliction, I have prepared for the house of Yahweh of gold talents a hundred thousand, and of silver a thousand thousand talents; and of brass and of iron there is no weighing, for in abundance it has been, and wood and stones I have prepared, and to them you do add. ¹⁵ `And with you in abundance [are] workmen, hewers and artificers of stone and of wood, and every skilful man for every work. <sup>16</sup> To the gold, to the silver, and to the brass, and to the iron, there is no number; arise and do, and Yahweh is with you.. <sup>17</sup> And David gives charge to all heads of Israel to give help to Solomon his son, <sup>18</sup> `Is not Yahweh your Elohim with you? yea, He has given rest to you round about, for He has given into my hand the inhabitants of the land, and subdued has been the land before His people. ¹⁹ `Now, give your heart and your soul to seek to Yahweh your Elohim, and rise and build the sanctuary of Yahweh Elohim, to bring in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and the holy vessels of Elohim, to the house that is built to the name of Yahweh..

¹⁷ And fearing is he saying, "What a fearful place is this! But is not this rather the house of the Elohim, and this the gateway of the heavens?

⁶ They will make the vestment of gold, blue purple, double-dipped crimson and corded cambric, the handiwork of a designer.

³ I shall fill him with the spirit of Elohim, with wisdom and with understanding and with knowledge, in all work, ⁴ to design designs, to make them in gold, in silver and in copper, ⁵ and as a lapidary for filling and as an artificer in wood for making all kind of work.

¹⁸ Yahweh said to Moses:Take to you Joshua son of Nun, a man in whom there is spirit, and support your hands on him;" ¹⁹ have him stand before Eleazar the priest and before the whole congregation and instruct him before their eyes.

²³ Then he supported his hands on him and instructed him, just as Yahweh had spoken by means of Moses.

²⁰ and every garment and every article of leather and every handiwork of goats' hair and every article of wood shall you purify for yourselves from sin.

²⁴ You will rinse your garments on the seventh day, and you will be clean. And thereafter you may come into the camp.

⁶ And you must observe and obey them, for that is your wisdom and your understanding in the eyes of all the peoples who shall hear of all these statutes and will say:Surely this great nation is a people wise and understanding.

²⁹ Yet from there you will seek Yahweh your Elohim and find Him when you inquire for Him with all your heart and with all your soul.

¹⁰ When you cross over the Jordan and dwell in the land that Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you as an allotment, and He gives rest to you from all your enemies from round about, so that you may dwell in trust, ¹¹ then it will come to be:the place where Yahweh your Elohim shall choose to tabernacle His name, there shall you bring all that I am instructing you, your ascent offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes, the heave offerings of your hand and all your choice vow offerings which you shall vow to Yahweh.

Joshua, he is crossing over before you just as Yahweh has spoken, ⁴ and Yahweh will do to them just as He did to Sihon and to Og, the kings of the Amorite, and to their country, those whom He exterminated. ⁵ Yahweh will give them up before you, and you must deal with them according to all the instructions which I have enjoined on you. ⁶ Be steadfast, and be resolute! Do not fear, and do not be terrified because of their presence, for Yahweh your Elohim, He is the One going with you; He shall neither neglect you nor forsake you.

³⁷ And David said, `Yahweh, who delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, He does deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.' And Saul said unto David, `Go, and Yahweh is with you..

⁵ `Go, and you have said unto My servant, unto David, Thus said Yahweh, Do you build for Me a house for My dwelling in? <sup>6</sup> for I have not dwelt in a house even from the day of My bringing up the sons of Israel out of Egypt, even unto this day, and am walking up and down in a tent and in a tabernacle. <sup>7</sup> During all [the time] that I have walked up and down among all the sons of Israel, a word have I spoken with one of the tribes of Israel which I commanded to feed my people Israel, saying, `Why have you not built to Me a house of cedars? ⁸ and now, thus do you say to My servant, to David:`Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, I have taken you from the comely place, from after the flock, to be leader over My people, over Israel;" <sup>9</sup> and I am with you whithersoever you have gone, and I cut off all your enemies from your presence, and have made for you a great name, as the name of the great ones who [are] in the earth, <sup>10</sup> and I have appointed a place for My people, for Israel, and have planted it, and it has tabernacled in its place, and it is not troubled any more, and the sons of perverseness do not add to afflict it any more, as in the beginning, <sup>11</sup> even from the day that I appointed judges over My people Israel; and I have given rest to you from all your enemies, and Yahweh has declared to you that Yahweh does make for you a house. <sup>12</sup> `When your days are full, and you have lain with your fathers, then I have raised up your seed after you which goes out from your bowels, and have established his kingdom;" ¹³ He does build a house for My Name, and I have established the throne of his kingdom unto the eon.

¹⁸ And Gad comes in unto David on that day, and said to him, `Go up, raise to Yahweh an altar in the threshing-floor of Araunah the Jebusite;.

³ and kept the charge of Yahweh your Elohim, to walk in His ways, to keep His statutes, His commands, and His judgments, and His testimonies, as it is written in the law of Moses, so that you do wisely all that you do, and whithersoever you turn,

⁷ And now, O Yahweh my Elohim, You have caused your servant to reign instead of David my father; and I [am] a little child, I do not know to go out and to come in;"

⁹ and You have given to Your servant an understanding heart, to judge Your people, to discern between good and evil; for who is able to judge this Your great people?. ¹⁰ And the thing is good in the eyes of the Lord, that Solomon has asked this thing, ¹¹ and Elohim said unto him, `Because that you have asked this thing, and have not asked for you many days, nor asked for you riches, nor asked the life of your enemies, and have asked for you discernment to understand judgment, ¹² lo, I have done according to your words; lo, I have given to you a heart, wise and understanding, that like you there has not been before you, and after you there does not arise like you;"

²⁰ Judah and Israel [are] many, as the sand that [is] by the sea for multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.

²⁵ And Judah dwells--and Israel--in confidence, each under his vine, and under his fig-tree, from Dan even unto Beer-Sheba, all the days of Solomon.

³ `You have known David my father, that he has not been able to build a house to the name of Yahweh his Elohim, because of the wars that have been round about him, till Yahweh's putting them under the soles of his feet. <sup>4</sup> `And now, Yahweh my Elohim has given rest to me round about, there is no adversary nor evil occurrence, ⁵ and lo, I am saying to build a house to the name of Yahweh my Elohim, as Yahweh spoke unto David my father, saying, Your son whom I appoint in your stead on your throne, he does build the house for My name. ⁶ `And now, command, and they cut down for me cedars out of Lebanon, and my servants are with your servants, and the hire of your servants I give to you according to all that you say, for you have known that there is not among us a man acquainted with cutting wood, like the Sidonians.. <sup>7</sup> And it comes to pass at Hiram's hearing the words of Solomon, that he rejoices exceedingly, and said, `Blessed [is] Yahweh to-day, who has given to David a wise son over this numerous people.. ⁸ And Hiram sends unto Solomon, saying, I have heard that which you have sent unto me, I do all your desire concerning cedar-wood, and fir-wood, ⁹ my servants bring down from Lebanon to the sea, and I make them floats in the sea unto the place that you send unto me, and I have spread them out there; and you do take [them] up, and you do execute my desire, to give the food of my house.. ¹⁰ And Hiram is giving to Solomon cedar-trees, and fir-trees, all his desire,

¹⁷ And the king commands, and they bring great stones, precious stone, to lay the foundation of the house, hewn stones;" ¹⁸ and the builders of Solomon, and the builders of Hiram, and the Giblites hew, and prepare the wood and the stones to build the house.

⁷ And the house, in its being built, of perfect stone brought [thither] has been built, and hammer, and the axe--any instrument of iron--was not heard in the house, in its being built.

⁹ All these [are] of precious stone, according to the measures of hewn work, sawn with a saw, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and at the outside, unto the great court. ¹⁰ And the foundation [is] of precious stone, great stones, stones of ten cubits, and stones of eight cubits;" ¹¹ and above [are] precious stone, according to the measures of hewn work, and cedar;" ¹² and the great court round about [is] three rows of hewn work, and a row of cedar-beams, even for the inner court of the house of Yahweh, and for the porch of the house.

¹⁴ he [is] son of a woman, a widow, of the tribe of Naphtali, and his father a man of Tyre, a worker in brass, and he is filled with the wisdom and the understanding, and the knowledge to do all work in brass--and he comes unto king Solomon, and does all his work.

⁴⁷ And Solomon places the whole of the vessels; because of the very great abundance, the weight of the brass has not been searched out.

⁶ And the priests bring in the ark of the covenant of Yahweh unto its place, unto the oracle of the house, unto the holy of holies, unto the place of the wings of the cherubs;"

¹⁶ From the day that I brought out My people, even Israel, from Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of all the tribes of Israel, to build a house for My name being there; and I fix on David to be over My people Israel. ¹⁷ `And it is with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, <sup>18</sup> and Yahweh said unto David my father, Because that it has been with your heart to build a house for My name, you have done well that it has been with your heart;" <sup>19</sup> only, you do not build the house, but your son who is coming out from your loins, he does build the house for My name. <sup>20</sup> `And Yahweh does establish His word which He spoke, and I am risen up instead of David my father, and sit on the throne of Israel, as Yahweh spoke, and build the house for the name of Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, ²¹ and set there a place for the ark, where [is] the covenant of Yahweh which He made with our fathers in His bringing them out from the land of Egypt..

²⁹ for Your eyes being open towards this house night and day, towards the place of which You have said, My Name is there; to hearken unto the prayer which Your servant prays towards this place.

³ and Yahweh said unto him, `I have heard your prayer and your supplication with which you have made supplication before Me; I have hallowed this house that you have built to put My name there--unto the eon, and Mine eyes and My heart have been there all the days.

⁸ as to this house, [that] is high, every one passing by it is astonished, and has hissed, and they have said, Wherefore has Yahweh done thus to this land and to this house?

²⁰ The whole of the people that is left of the Amorite, the Hittite, the Perizzite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who [are] not of the sons of Israel-. ²¹ their sons who are left behind them in the land, whom the sons of Israel have not been able to devote--he has even lifted up [on] them a tribute of service unto this day.

¹⁴ And the weight of the gold that has come to Solomon in one year is six hundred sixty and six talents of gold,

¹ And king Solomon has loved many strange women, and the daughter of Pharaoh, females of Moab, Ammon, Edom, Zidon, [and] of the Hittites, ² of the nations of which Yahweh said unto the sons of Israel, `You do not go in to them, and they do not go in to you; surely they turn aside your heart after their elohims;' to them has Solomon cleaved for love. ³ And he has women, princesses, seven hundred, and concubines three hundred; and his wives turn aside his heart. ⁴ And it comes to pass, at the time of the old age of Solomon, his wives have turned aside his heart after other elohims, and his heart has not been perfect with Yahweh his Elohim, like the heart of David his father. ⁵ And Solomon goes after Ashtoreth elohim [goddess] of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites;" ⁶ and Solomon does the evil thing in the eyes of Yahweh, and has not been fully after Yahweh, like David his father. ⁷ Then does Solomon build a high place for Chemosh the abomination of Moab, in the hill that [is] on the front of Jerusalem, and for Molech the abomination of the sons of Ammon;" ⁸ and so he has done for all his strange women, who are perfuming and sacrificing to their elohims. ⁹ And Yahweh shows Himself angry with Solomon, for his heart has turned aside from Yahweh, Elohim of Israel, who had appeared unto him twice, ¹⁰ and given a charge unto him concerning this thing, not to go after other elohims; and he has not kept that which Yahweh commanded,

¹² and to those [repairing] the wall, and to hewers of stone, and to buy wood and hewn stones to strengthen the breach of the house of Yahweh, and for all that goes out on the house, to strengthen it.

²² `And when you say unto me, Unto Yahweh our Elohim we have trusted, is it not He whose high places and whose altars Hezekiah has turned aside, and said to Judah and to Jerusalem, Before this altar do you bow yourselves in Jerusalem?

¹⁰ yea, even from the days that I appointed judges over My people Israel. `And I have humbled all your enemies, and I declare to you that a house does Yahweh build for you, ¹¹ and it has come to pass, when your days have been fulfilled to go with your fathers, that I have raised up your seed after you, who is of your sons, and I have established his kingdom,

¹⁸ And the messenger of Yahweh spoke unto Gad, saying for David, `Surely David does go up to raise an altar to Yahweh in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite.. <sup>19</sup> And David goes up by the word of Gad, that he spoke in the name of Yahweh. <sup>20</sup> And Ornan turns back, and sees the messenger, and his four sons [are] with him, hiding themselves, and Ornan is threshing wheat. <sup>21</sup> And David comes in unto Ornan, and Ornan looks attentively, and sees David, and goes out from the threshing-floor, and bows himself to David--face to the earth. <sup>22</sup> And David said unto Ornan, `Give to me the place of the threshing-floor, and I build in it an altar to Yahweh; for full silver give it to me, and the plague is restrained from the people.. ²³ And Ornan said unto David, `Take to you--and my lord the king does that which is good in his eyes:see, I have given the oxen for burnt-offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for a present; the whole I have given.. <sup>24</sup> And king David said to Ornan, `Nay, for I surely buy for full silver; for I do not lift up that which is your to Yahweh, so as to offer a burnt-offering without cost.. ²⁵ And David gives to Ornan for the place shekels of gold [in] weight six hundred; ²⁶ and David builds there an altar to Yahweh, and offers burnt-offerings and peace-offerings, and calls unto Yahweh, and He answers him with fire from the heavens on the altar of the burnt-offering. ²⁷ And Yahweh said to the messenger, and he turns back his sword unto its sheath. ²⁸ At that time when David sees that Yahweh has answered him in the threshing-floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrifices there;"

³ And iron in abundance for nails for leaves of the gates, and for couplings, has David prepared, and brass in abundance--there is no weighing.

⁷ and David said to Solomon his son, `As for me, it has been with my heart to build a house to the name of Yahweh my Elohim,

⁹ `Lo, a son is born to you; he is a man of rest, and I have given rest to him from all his enemies round about, for Solomon is his name, and peace and quietness I give unto Israel in his days;"

¹¹ `Now, my son, Yahweh is with you, and you have prospered, and have built the house of Yahweh your Elohim, as He spoke concerning you.

¹⁴ `And lo, in mine affliction, I have prepared for the house of Yahweh of gold talents a hundred thousand, and of silver a thousand thousand talents; and of brass and of iron there is no weighing, for in abundance it has been, and wood and stones I have prepared, and to them you do add.

⁵ `From the day that I brought out My people from the land of Egypt, I have not fixed on a city out of any of the tribes of Israel to build a house for my name being there, and I have not fixed on a man to be leader over My people Israel;" <sup>6</sup> and I fix on Jerusalem for My name being there, and I fix on David to be over My people Israel. <sup>7</sup> `And it is with the heart of David my father to build a house for the name of Yahweh Elohim of Israel, ⁸ and Yahweh said unto David my father, Because that it has been with your heart to build a house for My name, you have done well that it has been with your heart, ⁹ but you do not build the house, for your son who comes forth out from your loins, he does build the house for My name.

⁷ All the people who are left of the Hittite, and the Amorite, and the Perizzite, and the Hivite, and the Jebusite, who are not of Israel-. ⁸ of their sons who have been left after them in the land, whom the sons of Israel consumed not--does Solomon lift up a tribute unto this day.

⁷ `And there are gathered unto him vain men, sons of worthlessness, and they strengthen themselves against Rehoboam son of Solomon, and Rehoboam was a youth, and tender of heart, and has not strengthened himself against them.

³ And Jehoshaphat fears, and sets his face to seek to Yahweh, and proclaims a fast over all Judah;"

¹⁷ Not for you to fight in this; station yourselves, stand, and see the salvation of Yahweh with you, O Judah and Jerusalem--be not afraid nor fear you--to-morrow go out before them, and Yahweh [is] with you..

²⁰ And they rise early in the morning, and go out to the wilderness of Tekoa, and in their going out Jehoshaphat has stood and said, `Hear me, O Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, remain stedfast in Yahweh your Elohim, and be stedfast; remain stedfast in His prophets, and prosper..

¹² Has not Hezekiah himself turned aside His high places, and His altars, and speaks to Judah and to Jerusalem, saying, Before one altar you bow yourselves, and on it you make perfume?

⁷ Then they gave silver to hewers of stone and to craftsmen, and food, drink and oil to the Sidonians and to the Tyrians for bringing cedar timbers from the Lebanon by sea to Joppa, according to the permission given them by Cyrus king of Persia.

¹² Many of the older priests and Levites and patriarchal heads who had seen the former House, were lamenting with a loud voice when the foundation of this House was laid before their eyes. Many others raised up the voice in shouting and rejoicing.

¹² For thus says Yahweh, "Behold Me stretching out welfare to her, as a stream, and, as a watercourse overflowing, the glory of the nations. And suck do you. On the side are you being borne, and on the knees are you being dandled."

³ Thus said Yahweh:Do you judgment and righteousness, And deliver the plundered from the hand of the oppressor, And sojourner, orphan, and widow, you do not oppress nor wrong, And innocent blood you do not shed in this place." ⁴ For, if you certainly do this thing, Then come in by the gates of this house Have kings sitting for David on his throne, Riding on chariot, and on horses, He, and his servants, and his people."

²⁰ The two pillars, the one sea, and the twelve brazen oxen that [are] beneath the bases, that king Solomon made for the house of Yahweh, there was no weighing of the brass of all these vessels."

³ I am setting my face to my Lord the Elohim, to seek prayer and supplications in fasting and sackcloth and ashes."

³ Do any remain among you who saw this house in its former glory? And what are you seeing it to be now? Is it not likewise as nothing in your eyes?

And he shall sit and rule on his throne, and there comes to be a priest at his throne, and the counsel of welfare shall come to be between the two of them."

¹³ Watch! Stand firm in the faith! Be manly! Be staunch!

² for, in a test of much affliction, the superabundance of their joy and the corresponding depth of their poverty superabounds to the riches of their generosity,

² Bear one another's burdens, and thus fill up the law of Christ."

¹² that you were, in that era, apart from Christ, being alienated from the citizenship of Israel, and guests of the promise covenants, having no expectation, and without God in the world."

¹⁹ Consequently, then, no longer are you guests and sojourners, but are fellow-citizens of the saints and belong to God's family, ²⁰ being built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, the capstone of the corner being Christ Jesus Himself, ²¹ in Whom the entire building, being connected together, is growing into a holy temple in the Lord:" ²² in Whom you, also, are being built together for God's dwelling place, in spirit."

¹⁴ Wherefore He is saying, 'Rouse! O drowsy one, and rise from among the dead, and Christ shall dawn upon you!'"

¹⁰ For the rest, brethren mine, be invigorated in the Lord and in the might of His strength."

¹² So that, my beloved, according as you always obey, not as in my presence only, but now much rather in my absence, with fear and trembling, be carrying your own salvation into effect, ¹³ for it is God Who is operating in you to will as well as to work for the sake of His delight.

³ Yes, I am asking you also, genuine yokefellow, be aiding them, these women who compete together with me in the evangel, with Clement also, and the rest of my fellow workers whose names are in the scroll of life."

¹³ For all am I strong in Him Who is invigorating me - Christ!

²¹ I am conjuring, in the sight of God and Christ Jesus and the chosen messengers, that you should guard these things, apart from prejudice,

¹³ I am charging you in the sight of God, Who is vivifying all, and of Jesus Christ, Who testifies in the ideal avowal before Pontius Pilate, ¹⁴ that you keep this precept unspotted, irreprehensible, unto the advent of our Lord, Christ Jesus, ¹⁵ which, to its own eras, the happy and only Potentate will be showing: He is King of kings and Lord of lords, ¹⁶ Who alone has immortality, making His home in light inaccessible, Whom not one of mankind perceived nor can be perceiving, to Whom be honor and might eonian! Amen!" ¹⁷ Those who are rich in the current eon be charging not to be haughty, nor yet to rely on the dubiousness of riches, but on God, Who is tendering us all things richly for our enjoyment;"

¹ You, then, child of mine, be invigorated by the grace which is in Christ Jesus."

¹ I am conjuring you in the sight of God and Christ Jesus, Who is about to be judging the living and the dead, in accord with His advent and His kingdom:"

²² The Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit! Grace be with you! Amen!

⁵ For to whom of the messengers said He at any time, "My Son art Thou! I, today, have begotten Thee"? And again, "I shall be to Him for a Father And He shall be to Me for a Son"?

⁵ Now if anyone of you is lacking wisdom, let him be requesting it from God, Who is giving to all generously and is not reproaching, and it shall be given to him."

⁸ Howbeit, if you are discharging the royal law, according to the scripture, "You shall be loving your associate as yourself,you are doing ideally."

¹³ Now I am deeming it just, for as much time as I am in this tabernacle, to be rousing you by a reminder, ¹⁴ being aware that my tabernacle is to be put off swiftly according as our Lord, Jesus Christ, also makes evident to me." ¹⁵ Yet I shall endeavor to have you, after my exodus, to make mention of these things, ever and anon, also."

³ And in this we know that we know Him, if we should be keeping His precepts."

⁸ We then, ought to be taking up such, that we may become fellow workers in the truth. "
