⁵ But to him who does not work but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,

² And Joshua said to all the people, Thus says the Lord God of Israel: Your fathers at first sojourned beyond the river, even Terah, the father of Abraham and the father of Nahor; and they served other gods.

⁴ If he should draw back, My soul has no pleasure in him: but the just shall live by My faith.

^{3 (3:4)} Now Joshua was clothed in filthy garments, and stood before the Angel. ^{4 (3:5)} And the Lord answered and spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, Take away the filthy garments from him. And He said to him, Behold, I have taken away your iniquities, and clothed you with a long robe,

²⁴ "Most assuredly I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.

²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."

³⁸ Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through this Man forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you, ³⁹ and from all things from which you could not (by the Law of Moses) be justified, by Him everyone that believes is justified.

¹⁷ For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "The just shall live by faith." ¹⁸ For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven upon all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness.

²² even the righteousness of God, through the faithfulness of Jesus Christ, to all and upon all those that believe. For there is no distinction;

²⁶ for a demonstration of His righteousness in the present time, that He might be just and the justifier of he who is of the faith of Jesus. ²⁷ Where then is the boasting? It is excluded. Through what law? Of works? No, but through the law of faith. ²⁸ Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. ²⁹ Or is He the God of the Jews only? But is He not also the God of the Gentiles? Yes, also of Gentiles, ³⁰ since there is one God who will justify the circumcision by faith, and the uncircumcised through faith.

³ For what does the Scripture say? "Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness."

²⁴ but for us also, to whom it was going to be imputed, those believing on Him who raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead,

⁶ For when we were weak, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. ⁷ For scarcely on behalf of a righteous man will anyone die; yet on behalf of the good, perhaps someone might even dare to die. ⁸ But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

³⁰ Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; and whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified. ³¹ What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? ³² He who did not spare His own Son, but gave Him up on behalf of us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things? ³³ Who shall bring an accusation against God's elect? It is God who justifies. ³⁴ Who is he that condemns? Christ is the One having died, but rather also having been raised, who is even at the right hand of God, who also intercedes on our behalf.

³ For they, being ignorant of the righteousness of God, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

⁹ that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and you believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved. ¹⁰ For with the heart one believes resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth one confesses, resulting in salvation.

⁹ Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, ¹⁰ nor covetous, nor thieves, nor drunkards, nor abusive people, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. ¹¹ And such were some of you! But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.

¹⁶ knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we believed in Christ Jesus, so that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law; because no flesh shall be justified by the works of the law. ¹⁷ But if by seeking to be justified in Christ, we ourselves also were found sinners, then is Christ a minister of sin? Certainly not!

⁸ And the Scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the Gentiles by faith, preached the gospel beforehand to Abraham, saying that, "In you all the nations shall be blessed." ⁹ Therefore those who are of faith are blessed with believing Abraham. ¹⁰ For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who does not continue in all the things which are written in the book of the law, to do them." ¹¹ But that no one is justified by the law before God is evident, for "The just shall live by faith." ¹² But the law is not of faith, but "the man who does them shall live by them." ¹³ Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, having become a curse for us, for it is written, "Cursed is everyone who hangs on a tree," ¹⁴ so that the blessing of Abraham might come to the Gentiles in Christ Jesus, that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

⁹ and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith;

¹³ I, who was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and an insolent man; but I was shown mercy because, being ignorant, I did it in unbelief, ¹⁴ and the grace of our Lord superabounded with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁵ Faithful is this word, and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am first.

³ For we ourselves were also once foolish, disobedient, being deceived, being enslaved to various lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. ⁴ But when the kindness and the love of God our Savior toward man appeared, ⁵ not by works of righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, ⁶ whom He poured out on us richly through Jesus Christ our Savior, ⁷ that having been justified by His grace we might become heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
