²⁷ He that gives to the poor shall not be in need, but he that turns away his eye from him shall be in great distress.

⁷ And if there shall be in the midst of you a poor man from among your brothers, in one of your cities in the land, which the Lord your God gives you, you shall not harden your heart, neither shall you by any means close up your hand from your brother who is in need.

¹⁰ You shall surely give to him, and you shall lend to him as much as he wants, according as he is in need. And you shall not grudge in your heart as you give to him, because on this account the Lord your God will bless you in all your works, and in all things on which you shall lay your hand.

¹ For the end, A Psalm of David. Blessed is the man who thinks on the poor and needy; the Lord shall deliver him in an evil day. ² May the Lord preserve him and keep him alive, and bless him on the earth, and not deliver him into the hands of his enemy. ³ May the Lord help him upon the bed of his pain; You have made all his bed in his sickness.

⁵ The good man is he that pities and lends; he will direct his affairs with judgment. ⁶ For he shall not be moved forever; the righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance. ⁷ He shall not be afraid of any evil report; his heart is ready to trust in the Lord. ⁸ His heart is established, he shall not fear, till he shall see his desire upon his enemies. ⁹ He has dispersed abroad; he has given to the poor; his righteousness endures forever; his horn shall be exalted with honor.

²⁴ There are some who scatter their own, and make it more, and there are some also who gather, yet have less.

²⁶ May he that hoards grain leave it to the nation: but blessing be on the head of him that gives it.

¹⁷ He that has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will recompense to him according to his gift.

⁹ He that has pity on the poor shall himself be maintained, for he has given of his own bread to the poor. ^(22:9A) He that gives liberally secures victory an honor, but he takes away the life of them that posses them.

²⁴ He that says of the ungodly, He is righteous, shall be cursed by peoples, and hateful among the nations.

¹⁵ When you stretch forth your hands, I will turn away My eyes from you; and though you make many supplications, I will not hearken to you; for your hands are full of blood.

⁶ But this I say: he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. ⁷ Let each one give just as he decides in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. ⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that in everything always having all sufficiency, you may abound for every good work, ⁹ just as it is written: "He has dispersed, He has given to the poor; His righteousness endures forever." ¹⁰ Now may He who supplies seed to the sower, and bread for food, supply and multiply the seed you have sown and increase the fruits of your righteousness; ¹¹ in everything being made rich to all generosity, which produces thanksgiving through us to God.

¹⁶ But do not forget the doing of good and generosity, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
