¹¹ Surely these men who came up out of Egypt from twenty years old and upward, who know good and evil, shall not see the land which I swore to give to Abraham and Isaac and Jacob, for they have not closely followed after Me;

²⁴ But My servant Caleb, because there was another spirit in him, and he followed Me, I will bring him into the land into which he entered, and his seed shall inherit it.

²⁸ Say to them, As I live, says the Lord, surely as you spoke into My ears, so will I do to you. ²⁹ Your caracasses shall fall in this wilderness; and all those of you that were reviewed, and those of you that were numbered from twenty years old and upward, all that murmured against Me, ³⁰ you shall not enter into the land for which I stretched out My hand to establish you upon it; except only Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

² Take the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, from twenty years old and upward, according to the houses of their lineage, everyone that goes forth to battle in Israel.

⁶⁴ And among these there was not a man numbered by Moses and Aaron, whom, even the children of Israel, they numbered in the Wilderness of Sinai. ⁶⁵ For the Lord said to them, They shall surely die in the wilderness; and there was not left even one of them, except Caleb the son of Jephunneh, and Joshua the son of Nun.

³⁵ Not one of these men shall see this good land, which I swore to their fathers,

¹⁴ And the days in which we traveled from Kadesh Barnea, till we crossed the valley of Zered, were thirty-eight years, until the whole generation of the men of war failed, dying out of the camp, as the Lord God swore to them. ¹⁵ And the hand of the Lord was upon them, to destroy them out of the midst of the camp, until they were consumed.

⁸ My brethren that went up with me turned away the heart of the people, but I applied myself to follow the Lord my God. ⁹ And Moses swore on that day, saying, The land on which your foot has trodden, it shall be your inheritance and your children's forever, because you have applied yourself to follow the Lord our God.
