¹ And looking up, He saw the rich putting their gifts into the treasury,

¹⁹ And all the silver, or gold, or brass, or iron, shall be holy to the Lord; it shall be carried into the treasury of the Lord.

²⁴ And the city was burned with fire,with all the things that were in it: only of the silver, gold, brass, and iron, they gave to be brought into the treasury of the Lord.

²⁶ and took all the treasures of the house of the Lord, and the treasures of the king's house, and the golden spears which David took out of the hand of the sons of Adrazar king of Sheba, and brought them into Jerusalem, even all that he took, and the golden shields which Solomon had made, and carried them away into Egypt.

And many similar things you do."

⁴¹ And Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and was observing how the crowd was putting money into the treasury. And many rich people were putting in much. ⁴² Then one poor widow came and put in two lepta, which equals a quadrans. ⁴³ And having summoned His disciples, He said to them, "Assuredly, I say to you that this poor widow has put in more than all those who are putting into the treasury. ⁴⁴ For they all put in out of their excess, but this woman, out of her destitution, put in everything she had, her whole livelihood."

²⁰ These words Jesus spoke in the treasury, while teaching in the temple; and no one seized Him, for His time had not yet come.
