³⁴ And Jephthah came to Mizpah, to his house; and behold, his daughter came forth to meet him with timbrels and dances; and she was his only child, for he had no other son or daughter.

²⁰ Then Miriam the prophetess, the sister of Aaron, having taken a timbrel in her hand, then there went forth all the women after her with timbrels and dances.

He will surely be gracious to every man: there are spoils of dyed garments for Sisera, spoils of various dyed garments, dyed embroidered garments, they are the spoils for his neck. ³¹ Thus let all Your enemies perish, O Lord: and they that love Him shall be as the going forth of the sun in his strength. ^(5:32) And the land had rest forty years.

¹⁷ And the children of Ammon went up, and encamped in Gilead; and the children of Israel were gathered together and encamped on the hill.

¹¹ And Jephthah went with the elders of Gilead, and the people made him head and ruler over them. And Jephthah spoke all his words before the Lord in Mizpah.

⁶ And women came out to meet David from all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, with timbrels, and with rejoicing, and with cymbals. ⁷ And the women began this song, and said, Saul has slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.

¹¹ kings of the earth, and all peoples; princes, and all judges of the earth; ¹² young men and virgins, old men with youths;

⁴ Praise Him with timbrel and dance; praise Him with stringed instruments and the organ.

⁴ For I will build you, and you shall be built, O virgin of Israel. You shall yet take your timbrel, and go forth with the party of them that make merry.

¹³ Then shall the virgins rejoice in the assembly of youth, and the old men shall rejoice; and I will turn their mourning into joy, and will make them merry.

¹⁰ And I will pour upon the house of David, and upon the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the Spirit of grace and compassion: and they shall look upon Me, because they have mocked Me, and they shall make lamentation for Him, as for a beloved friend, and they shall grieve intensely, as for a firstborn son.

¹² And when He came near the gate of the city, that behold, a dead man was being carried out, the only son of his mother; and she was a widow. And many people from the city was with her.

⁴² for he had an only daughter about twelve years of age, and she was dying. But as He was going, the crowds were pressing against Him.

³⁸ And behold, a man from the crowd cried out, saying, "Teacher, I beg You, look upon my son, for he is my only child.
