¹ And it came to pass after the death of Moses, that the Lord spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, the minister of Moses, saying,

⁹ And Moses said to Joshua, Choose out for yourself mighty men, and go forth and set the army in array against Amalek tomorrow; and behold, I shall stand on the top of the hill, and the rod of God will be in my hand. ¹⁰ And Joshua did as Moses said to him, and he went out and set the army in array against Amalek, and Moses and Aaron and Hur went up to the top of the hill. ¹¹ And it came to pass, when Moses lifted up his hands, Israel prevailed; and when he let down his hands, Amalek prevailed. ¹² But the hands of Moses were heavy, and they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat upon it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on this side and the other on that, and the hands of Moses were supported till the going down of the sun. ¹³ And Joshua routed Amalek and all his people with the edge of the sword.

¹³ And Moses rose up and Joshua his attendant, and they went up into the mount of God.

²⁸ And Joshua the son of Nun, who attended on Moses, the chosen one, said, My lord Moses, forbid them.

⁷ My servant Moses is not so; he is faithful in all My house.

⁸ Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun.

¹⁶ These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land; and Moses called Oshea the son of Nun, Joshua.

³⁸ Joshua the son of Nun, who stands by you, he shall enter in there; strengthen him, for he shall cause Israel to inherit it.

³ The Lord your God who goes before you, He shall destroy these nations before you, and you shall inherit them: and it shall be Joshua that goes before your face, as the Lord has spoken.

²³ And he charged Joshua, and said, Be courageous and strong, for you shall bring the sons of Israel into the land, which the Lord swore to them, and He shall be with you.

¹ And this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the children of Israel before his death.

⁵ So Moses the servant of the Lord died in the land of Moab, by the word of the Lord.

⁹ And Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of knowledge, for Moses had laid his hands upon him; and the children of Israel hearkened to him; and they did as the Lord commanded Moses.

⁶ Moses the servant of the Lord and the children of Israel struck them; and Moses gave them by way of inheritance to Reuben and Gad, and to the half tribe of Manasseh.

¹⁶ And Jehu the son of Nimshi shall you anoint to be king over Israel; and Elisha the son of Shaphat shall you anoint to be prophet in your place.

¹¹ And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the Lord, that we may inquire of the Lord by him? And one of the servants of the king of Israel answered and said, There is here Elisha son of Shaphat, who poured water on the hands of Elijah.

²⁷ And she came to Elisha to the mountain, and laid hold of his feet; and Gehazi drew near to thrust her away. And Elisha said, Let her alone, for her soul is much grieved in her, and the Lord has hidden it from me, and has not told it to me. ²⁸ And she said, Did I ask a son of my lord? For did I not say, Do not deal deceitfully with me? ²⁹ And Elisha said to Gehazi, Gird up your loins, and take my staff in your hand, and go: if you meet any man, you shall not greet him, and if a man greet you, you shall not answer him; and you shall lay my staff on the child's face.

²⁵ And he went in himself and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him, ²⁶ From where have you come, Gehazi? And Gehazi said, Your servant has not been anywhere. And Elisha said to him, Did not my heart go with you, when the man returned from his chariot to meet you? And now you have received silver, and now you have received clothing, olive groves and vineyards, sheep and oxen, menservants, and maidservants. ²⁷ The leprosy also of Naaman shall cleave to you, and to your seed forever. And he went out from his presence leprous, like snow.

²⁶ Yet it shall not be so among you; but whoever desires to become great among you, shall be your servant. ²⁷ And whoever desires to be first among you, let him be your slave;

¹⁰ He that is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he that is unjust in what is least is also unjust in much.

⁴⁵ which also our fathers, having received in turn, also brought in with Joshua into the possession of the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David,

³⁶ "For David indeed in his own generation, having served by the purpose of God, died, and was buried with his fathers, and saw corruption; ³⁷ but He whom God raised up did not see corruption.
