³⁹ You search the Scriptures, because you think that in them you have eternal life; and these are they which testify about Me.

¹⁸ And you shall store these words in your heart and in your soul, and you shall bind them as a sign on your hand, and it shall be fixed before your eyes. ¹⁹ And you shall teach them to your children, so as to speak about them when you sit in the house, and when you walk by the way, and when you sleep, and when you rise up. ²⁰ And you shall write them on the doorposts of your houses, and on your gates;

¹⁸ And when he shall be established in his government, then shall he write for himself this repetition of the law into a book by the hands of the priests the Levites; ¹⁹ and it shall be with him, and he shall read in it all the days of his life, that he may learn to fear the Lord your God, and to keep all these commandments, and to observe these ordinances;

¹⁵ The Lord your God shall raise up to you a Prophet from among your brethren, like me; Him shall you hear,

¹⁸ I will raise up to them a Prophet from among their brethren, like you; and I will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them as I shall command Him.

⁴⁷ For this is no vain word to you; for it is your life, and because of this word you shall live long upon the land, into which you go over the Jordan to inherit it.

⁸ And the Book of this Law shall not depart from your mouth, and you shall meditate on it day and night, that you may know how to do all the things that are written in it; then shall you prosper, and make your ways prosperous, and then shall you be wise.

² But his pleasure is in the law of the Lord; and in His law will he meditate day and night.

¹¹ You have made known to me the ways of life; You will fill me with joy with Your countenance: at Your right hand there are delights forever.

⁴ He asked life of You, and You gave him length of days forever and ever.

⁹ For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light we shall see light.

¹¹ I have hidden Your oracles in my heart, that I might not sin against You.

⁹⁷ How I have loved Your law, O Lord! It is my meditation all the day. ⁹⁸ You have made me wiser than my enemies in Your commandment; for it is mine forever. ⁹⁹ I have more understanding than all my teachers; for Your testimonies are my meditation.

³ As the dew of Hermon that comes down on the mountains of Zion; for there, the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore.

²³ For the commandment of the law is a lamp and a light; a way of life; reproof also and correction:

²⁰ For He has given the law for a help, that they should not speak according to this word, concerning which there are no gifts to give for it.

¹⁶ They passed by in full number, and not one of them perished; they sought not one another; for the Lord commanded them, and His Spirit gathered them.

⁹ The wise men are ashamed, and alarmed, and taken; because they have rejected the word of the Lord; what wisdom is there in them?

² And many of them that sleep in the dust of the earth shall awake, some to everlasting life, and some to reproach and everlasting shame.

¹⁶ And behold, one came and said to Him, "Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?" ¹⁷ So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good except One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments." ¹⁸ He said to Him, "Which ones?" Jesus said, " 'You shall not murder,' 'You shall not commit adultery,' 'You shall not steal,' 'You shall not bear false witness,' ¹⁹ ' Honor your father and your mother,' and, 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' " ²⁰ The young man said to Him, "All these have I kept from my youth. What do I still lack?"

²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them, "You err, not knowing the Scriptures, nor the power of God.

¹⁰ Have you not even read this Scripture: 'The stone which the builders rejected Has become the chief cornerstone.

²⁵ And behold, a certain lawyer stood up and tested Him, saying, "Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?" ²⁶ He said to him, "What is written in the law? How do you read it?" ²⁷ So he answered and said, " 'You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and 'your neighbor as yourself.' " ²⁸ And He said to him, "You have answered correctly; do this and you shall live." ²⁹ But he, wanting to justify himself, said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"

²⁹ Abraham said to him, 'They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.'

³¹ But he said to him, 'If they do not hear Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded should one rise from the dead.' "

²⁷ And beginning at Moses and all the Prophets, He expounded to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning Himself.

⁴⁴ Then He said to them, "These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me."

⁴⁵ Philip found Nathanael and said to him, "We have found the One about whom Moses wrote in the Law, and the Prophets--Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph."

³² There is another who testifies about Me, and I know that the testimony which He testifies concerning Me is true.

³⁶ But I have a testimony greater than John's; for the works which the Father gave to Me, that I should complete them, these very works which I do, testify of Me, that the Father has sent Me.

⁴⁶ For if you believed Moses, you would have believed Me; for he wrote about Me.

⁵² They answered and said to him, "Are you also from Galilee? Search and see, because no prophet has arisen out of Galilee."

³² Now the portion of the Scripture which he was reading was this: "He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and as a lamb before its shearer is silent, thus He opened not His mouth. ³³ In His humiliation His justice was taken away, and who will recount His generation? For His life is taken away from the earth." ³⁴ So the eunuch answered Philip and said, "I ask you, of whom does the prophet say this; about himself, or about some other person?" ³⁵ And Philip, opening his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached the good news about Jesus to him.

²⁷ For those dwelling in Jerusalem, and their rulers, because they did not know Him, nor the voices of the Prophets which are being read according to each Sabbath, condemning him, they fulfilled the Scriptures.

¹¹ And these were more noble-minded than those in Thessalonica, who received the word with all readiness, each day examining the Scriptures to see whether these things might be so.

²² Therefore, having obtained help from God, until this day I stand, witnessing both to common people and great people, saying nothing except the things which both the prophets and Moses spoke of as being about to happen, ²³ that the Christ was to suffer, that as the first to rise from the dead, He was about to proclaim light to the Jewish people and to the Gentiles."

²⁷ "Do you believe the prophets, King Agrippa? I know that you believe."

² which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures,

¹⁷ Behold, you are called a Jew, and rest on the law, and boast in God, ¹⁸ and know His will, and approve the things that are more excellent, being instructed out of the law,

² Much in every way! First of all, that they were entrusted with the oracles of God.

¹⁶ Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

¹⁴ But you must continue in the things which you have learned and been assured of, knowing from whom you learned them, ¹⁵ and that from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise to salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. ¹⁶ All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, ¹⁷ that the man of God may be proficient, having been thoroughly equipped for every good work.

¹⁶ But now they desire a better land, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for He has prepared a city for them.

³⁵ Women received their dead back by resurrection. And others were tortured, not accepting deliverance, in order that they might obtain a better resurrection.

¹⁰ Concerning this salvation the prophets have sought out and inquired carefully, having prophesied of the grace that would come to you, ¹¹ searching for who or what kind of time the Spirit of Christ in them was revealing when He testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ and the glories which were to follow:

¹⁹ And we have the prophetic word made more sure, which you do well to heed, as a lamp shining in a dark place, until the day dawns and the morning star rises in your hearts; ²⁰ knowing this first, that no prophecy of Scripture comes about from one's own interpretation, ²¹ for prophecy never came by the will of man, but holy men of God spoke, being brought along by the Holy Spirit.

¹⁰ And I fell before his feet to worship him. But he said to me, "See that you do not! I am your fellow servant, and of your brothers who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
