³ He has set a bound to darkness, and he searches out every limit: a stone is darkness, and the shadow of death.

²¹ before I go to where I shall not return, to a land of darkness and gloominess; ²² to a land of perpetual darkness, where there is no light, neither can anyone see the life of mortals.

²² Revealing deep things out of darkness: and He has brought into light the shadow of death.

¹⁶ Or have you gone to the source of the sea, and walked in the tracks of the deep? ¹⁷ And do the gates of death open to you out of fear; and did the porters of hell quake when they saw you?

⁴ and if you shall seek it as silver, and search diligently for it as for treasures;

¹³ And I applied my heart to seek out and examine by wisdom concerning all things that are done under heaven, for God has given to the sons of men a burdensome task to be afflicted with.

¹³ Are not these things of the Lord Almighty? Surely many people have been exhausted in the fire, and many nations have fainted.

³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

⁸ So the master praised the unrighteous manager because he had dealt shrewdly. For the sons of this age are shrewder in their own generation than the sons of light.
