⁴⁰ As God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities bordering upon them, says the Lord: no man shall dwell there, and no son of man shall sojourn there.

²⁴ And the Lord rained on Sodom and Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the Lord out of heaven. ²⁵ And He overthrew these cities, and all the country round about, and all that dwelt in the cities, and the plants springing out of the ground.

²³ brimstone and burning salt, (the whole land shall not be sown, neither shall any green thing spring, nor rise upon it, as Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, Admah and Zeboiim, which the Lord overthrew in His wrath and anger) —

⁹ And if the Lord of Sabaoth had not left us a seed, we would have become like Sodom, and been made like Gomorrah.

¹⁹ And Babylon, which is called glorious by the king of the Chaldeans, shall be as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. ²⁰ It shall never be inhabited, neither shall any enter into it for many generations; neither shall the Arabians pass through it; nor shall shepherds at all rest in it.

¹⁸ As Sodom and Gomorrah were overthrown, and they that sojourned in her, says the Lord Almighty, no man shall dwell there, nor shall any son of man inhabit there.

²⁶ And they shall not take from you a stone for a corner, nor a stone for a foundation; for you shall be a desolation forever, says the Lord.

⁸ How shall I deal with you, O Ephraim? How shall I protect you, O Israel? What shall I do with you? I will make you as Adamah, and as Zeboiim; My heart is turned at once, My repentance is powerfully excited. ⁹ I will not act according to the fury of My wrath, I will not abandon Ephraim to be utterly destroyed: for I am God, and not man; the Holy One in your midst; and I will not enter into the city.

¹¹ I overthrew you, as God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah, and you became as a brand plucked out of the fire; yet not even then did you return to Me, says the Lord.

⁹ Therefore, as I live, says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel, Moab shall be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah; and Damascus shall be left as a heap of the threshing floor, and desolate forever: and the remnant of My people shall plunder them, and the remnant of My nations shall inherit them.

²⁸ Likewise also as it happened in the days of Lot; they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building; ²⁹ but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all. ³⁰ In the same way it shall be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.

⁶ and reducing the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah to ashes, He condemned them to destruction, having made them an example who were to be ungodly,

⁷ as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities around them in a similar manner to these, having given themselves over to fornication and having gone after other flesh, are set forth as an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

⁸ And their corpse will lie on the street of the great city which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also their Lord was crucified.

⁸ "On account of this her plagues will come in one day--death, sorrow, and famine. And she shall be burned with fire, for strong is the Lord God who has judged her. ⁹ "The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her shall weep and mourn over her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
