⁶ They shall go with sheep and calves diligently to seek the Lord; but they shall not find Him, for He has withdrawn Himself from them.

⁹ And Moses said, We will go with the young and the old, with our sons and daughters, and our sheep and oxen; for it is a feast to the Lord.

²⁴ And Pharaoh called Moses and Aaron, saying, Go, serve the Lord your God, only leave your sheep and your oxen, and let your little ones depart with you. ²⁵ And Moses said, No, but you shall give to us whole burnt offerings and sacrifices, which we will sacrifice to the Lord our God. ²⁶ And our livestock shall go with us, and we will not leave a hoof behind, for of them we will take to serve the Lord our God; but we know not in what manner we shall serve the Lord our God until we arrive there.

²⁸ For it shall be that when you call upon me, I will not listen to you: wicked men shall seek me, but shall not find me.

⁸ The sacrifices of the ungodly are an abomination to the Lord, but the prayers of them that walk honestly are acceptable to Him.

⁶ I opened to my kinsman; my kinsman was gone: my soul failed at his speech: I sought him, but found him not; I called him, but he answered me not.

¹¹ Of what value to Me is the abundance of your sacrifices? Says the Lord; I am full of whole burnt offerings of rams; and I delight not in the fat of lambs, and the blood of bulls and goats; ¹² neither shall you come with these to appear before Me; for who has required these things at your hands? You shall no more tread My court. ¹³ Though you bring fine flour, it is futile; incense is an abomination to Me; I cannot bear your new moons, and your Sabbaths, and the great day; ¹⁴ your fasting, and rest from work, your new moons also, and your feasts My soul hates; you have become loathsome to Me; I will no more pardon your sins. ¹⁵ When you stretch forth your hands, I will turn away My eyes from you; and though you make many supplications, I will not hearken to you; for your hands are full of blood.

³ But the transgressor that sacrifices a calf to Me, is as he that kills a dog; and he that offers fine flour, as one that offers swine's blood; he that gives frankincense for a memorial, is as a blasphemer. Yet they have chosen their own ways, and their soul has delighted in their abominations.

⁴ Trust not in yourselves with lying words, for they shall not profit you at all, saying, It is the temple of the Lord, the temple of the Lord.

¹¹ Therefore thus says the Lord: Behold, I bring evils upon this people, out of which they shall not be able to come forth; and they shall presently cry to Me, but I will not listen to them.

⁴⁴ You have veiled Yourself with a cloud because of prayer, that I might be blind, and be cast off.

⁶ And He said to me, Son of man, have you seen what these people do? They commit great abominations here, so that I should keep away from My sanctuary; and you shall see even greater iniquities.

¹⁸ Therefore will I deal with them in wrath: My eye shall not spare, nor will I have any mercy.

²¹ I hate, I reject your feasts, and I will not smell your grain offerings in your general assemblies. ²² Wherefore if you should bring Me your whole burnt sacrifices and grain offerings, I will not accept them, neither will I have respect to your grand peace offerings. ²³ Remove from Me the sound of your songs, and I will not hear the music of your instruments.

⁴ thus they shall cry to the Lord, but He shall not hearken to them; and He shall turn away His face from them at that time, because they have done wickedly in their practices against themselves.

⁶ With what shall I reach the Lord, and lay hold of my God most high? Shall I reach Him by whole burnt offerings, by calves of a year old? ⁷ Will the Lord accept thousands of rams, or ten thousands of fat goats? Should I give my first born for ungodliness, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

¹⁶ But He Himself would withdraw into the wilderness and would pray.

³⁴ You will seek Me and you will not find Me, and where I am you cannot come."
