²⁶ And God said, Let Us make man according to Our image and likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the flying creatures of heaven, and over the cattle and all the earth, and over all the reptiles that creep on the earth.

^{22 (3:23)} And God said, Behold, Adam has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil; and now, lest at any time he stretch forth his hand, and take of the tree of life and eat, and so he shall live forever —

¹ This is the genealogy of men in the day in which God made Adam; in the image of God He made him:

² And the dread and the fear of you shall be upon all the wild beasts of the earth, on all the birds of the sky, and on all things moving upon the earth, and upon all the fish of the sea, I have placed them under your power. ³ And every reptile which is living shall be to you for food, I have given all things to you as the green herbs. ⁴ But flesh with its lifeblood you shall not eat.

⁶ He that sheds man's blood, instead of that blood shall his own be shed, for in the image of God I made man.

⁷ Come, let Us go down and confound their language, that they may not understand each the voice of his neighbor.

²³ For the wild beasts of the field shall be at peace with you.

¹⁰ But none said, Where is God that made me, who appoints the night watches;

⁴ What is man, that You are mindful of him? Or the son of man, that You visit him? ⁵ You made him a little lower than the angels, You have crowned him with glory and honor; ⁶ and You have set him over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet: ⁷ sheep and all oxen — yea, and the cattle of the field; ⁸ the birds of the sky, and the fish of the sea, the creatures passing through the paths of the sea.

³ Know that the Lord, He is God; He made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture.

²⁰ You made the darkness, and it was night; in it all the wild beasts of the forest will be abroad; ²¹ even the young lions roar after their prey, and they seek meat for themselves from God. ²² The sun arises, and they shall be gathered together, and shall lie down in their dens. ²³ Man shall go forth to his work, and to his labor till evening. ²⁴ How great are Your works, O Lord! In wisdom have You done them all; the earth is filled with Your creation.

² Let Israel rejoice in Him that made him; and let the children of Zion exalt in their King.

²⁹ But behold, this have I found, that God made man upright; but they have sought out many devices.

⁸ And I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go to this people? And I said, behold, I am here, send me. And He said, Go, and say to this people,

⁸ And now, O Lord, You are our Father, and we are clay, all of us the work of Your hands.

⁶ I have given the earth to Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to serve him, and the wild beasts of the field to labor for him.

¹⁷ But Jesus answered them, "My Father has been working until now, and I am working."

²³ Jesus answered and said to him, "If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and we will make Our home with him.

²⁰ For you are bringing some strange things to our ears. Therefore we desire to know what these things might mean."

²⁶ And He made from one blood every nation of men to dwell upon all the face of the earth, and He ordained their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings,

²⁸ for in Him we live and move and have our being, as also some of your own poets have said, 'For we are also His offspring.' ²⁹ "Therefore, being the offspring of God, we ought not to suppose that the Godhead is like gold or silver or stone, something shaped by art and the imagination of man.

⁷ For a man indeed ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God; but woman is the glory of man.

¹⁸ But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord.

⁴ among whom the god of this age has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, so that the illumination of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

²⁴ and that you put on the new man which was created in the likeness of God, in true righteousness and holiness.

¹⁵ He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation,

¹⁰ and have put on the new man who is renewed in full knowledge according to the image of Him who created it,

⁶ But someone somewhere testified, saying: "What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You visit him? ⁷ You made him a little lower than the angels, You crowned him with glory and honor, ⁸ You have subjected all things under his feet." For in subjecting to him all things, He left nothing not subjected to him. But now we do not yet see all things having been subjected to him. ⁹ But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, through the suffering of death, having been crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of God, He might taste death for everyone.

⁷ For every kind of both beasts and birds, of both reptiles and sea creatures, is tamed and has been tamed by mankind.

⁹ With it we bless our God and Father, and with it we curse men, who are created according to the likeness of God.

⁷ For there are three that bear witness: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.
