⁴ But let each person examine his own work, and then he will have boasting in himself alone, and not in the other.

¹⁵ Though the Mighty One should lay His hand upon me, forasmuch as He has begun, verily I will speak, and plead before Him.

² Prove me, O Lord, and try me; purify as with fire my mind and my heart.

¹⁴ A stout-hearted man shall be filled with his own ways, and a good man with his own thoughts.

¹¹ The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, 'God, I thank You that I am not like other men--swindlers, unjust, adulterers, or even like this tax collector.

¹² Now I say this, that each of you says, "I am of Paul," and "I of Apollos," and "I of Cephas," and "I of Christ." ¹³ Has Christ been divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptized in the name of Paul?

²¹ Therefore let no one boast in men. For all things are yours: ²² whether Paul or Apollos or Cephas, or the world or life or death, or things present or things to come-all things are yours. ²³ And you are of Christ, and Christ is of God.

³ But to me it is a very small thing that I should be judged by you, or by a human court. Indeed, I do not even judge myself. ⁴ For I am conscious of nothing, but I have not been justified by this; but He who judges me is the Lord.

⁶ Now these things, brothers, I have figuratively applied to myself and Apollos for your sakes, in order that you may learn in us not to think beyond what is written, that none of you may be puffed up on behalf of one against the other. ⁷ For who makes you differ from another? And what do you have that you did not receive? And if you did indeed receive what you have, why do you boast as though you did not receive it?

²⁸ But let a man examine himself, and in this way let him eat from the bread and drink from the cup.

¹² For our boasting is this: the testimony of our conscience, that we have conducted ourselves in the world in simplicity and godly sincerity, not with fleshly wisdom but by the grace of God, and especially toward you.

¹² But what I am doing, I will also continue to do, that I may cut off the opportunity of those who desire an opportunity, that in what they boast they may be found just as we are. ¹³ For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ.

⁵ Scrutinize yourselves as to whether you are in the faith; prove your own selves. Or do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you, unless indeed you are reprobates?

¹³ For not even those who are circumcised keep the law themselves, but they wish you to be circumcised that they may boast in your flesh.

¹⁹ And in this we know that we are from the truth, and shall assure our hearts before Him. ²⁰ Because if our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and He knows all things. ²¹ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence toward God. ²² And whatever we should ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and we do the things pleasing before Him.
