¹⁸ And He said to me, Son of man, thus says the Lord God of Israel: These are the ordinances of the altar in the day of its being made, to offer upon it whole burnt offerings, and to pour blood upon it.

²⁹ And he put the altar of the burnt offerings by the doors of the tabernacle.

⁵ And they shall slay the calf before the Lord; and the sons of Aaron the priests shall bring the blood, and they shall pour the blood round about on the altar, which is at the doors of the tabernacle of witness. ⁶ And having skinned the whole burnt offering, they shall divide it by its limbs. ⁷ And the sons of Aaron the priests shall put fire on the altar, and shall pile wood on the fire. ⁸ And the sons of Aaron the priests shall pile up the divided parts, and the head, and the fat on the wood on the fire, the wood which is on the altar. ⁹ And the entrails and the feet they shall wash in water, and the priests shall put all on the altar; it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, an aroma of sweet savor to the Lord. ¹⁰ And if his gift be of the sheep to the Lord, or of the lambs, or of the kids for a whole burnt offering, he shall bring a male without blemish. ¹¹ And he shall lay his hand on its head; and they shall kill it by the side of the altar, toward the north before the Lord, and the sons of Aaron the priests shall pour its blood on the altar round about. ¹² And they shall divide it by its limbs, and its head and its fat, and the priests shall pile them up on the wood which is on the fire, on the altar. ¹³ And they shall wash the entrails and the feet with water, and the priest shall bring all the parts and put them on the altar: it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, an aroma of sweet savor to the Lord. ¹⁴ And if he bring his gift, a burnt offering to the Lord, of birds, then shall he bring his gift of doves or pigeons. ¹⁵ And the priest shall bring it to the altar, and shall wring off its head; and the priest shall put it on the altar, and shall wring out the blood at the bottom of the altar. ¹⁶ And he shall take away the crop with the feathers, and shall cast it forth by the altar toward the east, to the place of the ashes. ¹⁷ And he shall break it off from the wings and shall not separate it, and the priest shall put it on the altar on the wood which is on the fire: it is a burnt offering, a sacrifice, a sweet-smelling savor to the Lord.

¹⁸ And Moses brought near the ram for a whole burnt offering, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram, and Moses killed the ram. And Moses poured the blood on the altar round about. ¹⁹ And he divided the ram by its limbs, and Moses offered the head, and the limbs, and the fat; and he washed the belly and the feet with water. ²⁰ And Moses offered up the whole ram on the altar: it is a whole burnt offering for a sweet-smelling savor; it is a burnt offering to the Lord, as the Lord commanded Moses. ²¹ And Moses brought the second ram, the ram of consecration, and Aaron and his sons laid their hands on the head of the ram, and he slew him;

¹⁹ And he shall sprinkle some of the blood upon it seven times with his finger, and shall purge it, and hallow it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.

¹ This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the Lord. And I saw and fell upon my face, and heard the voice of One speaking. And He said to me, Son of man, stand upon your feet, and I will speak to you.

¹⁸ Thus says the Lord God: In the first month, on the first day of the month, you shall take a calf without blemish out of the herd, to make atonement for the holy place. ¹⁹ And the priest shall take of the blood of the atonement, and put it on the thresholds of the house, and upon the four corners of the temple, and upon the altar, and upon the thresholds of the gate of the inner court.

¹³ For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling those having been defiled, sanctifies for the purity of the flesh,

²¹ And likewise he sprinkled both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the service with the blood. ²² And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission.

⁴ For it is not possible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins. ⁵ Therefore, when He entered into the world, He said: "Sacrifice and offering You did not desire, but a body You have prepared for Me. ⁶ In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You had no pleasure. ⁷ Then I said, 'Behold, I have come--In the volume of the book it is written of Me-- To do Your will, O God.' " ⁸ Earlier saying, "Sacrifice and offering, burnt offerings, and sacrifices for sin You did not desire, nor had pleasure in them" (which are offered according to the law), ⁹ then He has said, "Behold, I have come to do Your will, O God." He takes away the first in order that He may establish the second. ¹⁰ By which will we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all. ¹¹ And every priest stands ministering daily and offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which are never able to take away sins. ¹² But He Himself, having offered one sacrifice for sins forever, He sat down at the right hand of God,

²⁴ and to Jesus, the Mediator of a new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling which speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
