¹⁴ And the Lord said to Moses, Write this for a memorial in a book, and speak in the ears of Joshua; for I will utterly blot out the memorial of Amalek from under heaven.

¹⁴ And this day shall be to you a memorial, and you shall keep it a feast to the Lord through all your generations; you shall keep it a feast for a perpetual ordinance.

⁹ And it shall be unto you a sign upon your hand and a memorial before your eyes, that the law of the Lord may be in your mouth, for with a strong hand the Lord God has brought you out of Egypt.

⁴ And Moses wrote all the words of the Lord; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and built an altar under the mountain, and set up twelve stones for the twelve tribes of Israel.

²⁷ And the Lord said to Moses, Write these words for yourself, for on these words I have established a covenant with you and with Israel.

²⁰ And having seen Amalek, he took up his parable and said, Amalek is the first of the nations; yet his seed shall perish.

² And Moses wrote their removals and their stages, by the word of the Lord: and these are the stages of their journeying.

¹⁷ Remember what things Amalek did to you by the way, when you went forth out of the land of Egypt, ¹⁸ how he withstood you in the way, and harassed your rear, even those that were weary behind you, and you hungered and were weary; and he did not fear God. ¹⁹ And it shall come to pass whenever the Lord your God shall have given you rest from all your enemies round about you, in the land which the Lord your God gives you to inherit, you shall blot out the name of Amalek from under heaven, and shall not forget to do it.

⁹ And Moses wrote the words of this law in a book, and gave it to the priests, the sons of Levi, who bear the ark of the covenant of the Lord, and to the elders of the sons of Israel.

⁷ then you may explain to your son, saying, The River Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it crossed over; and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel forever.

² Thus said the Lord of hosts, Now will I take vengeance for what Amalek did to Israel, when he met him in the way as he came up out of Egypt. ³ And now go, and you shall strike Amalek and Hierim and all that belongs to him, and you shall not save anything of his alive, but you shall utterly destroy him. And you shall devote him and all his to destruction, and you shall spare nothing belonging to him; and you shall slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, calf and sheep, camel and donkey.

⁷ And Saul struck Amalek from Havilah to Shur, fronting Egypt. ⁸ And he took Agag the king of Amalek alive, and he killed all the people and Hierim with the edge of the sword.

¹⁸ And the Lord sent you on a journey, and said to you, Go, and utterly destroy: you shall slay the sinners against Me, even the Amalekites; and you shall war against them until you have consumed them.

⁸ And David and his men went up, and made an attack on all the Geshurites and on the Amalekites. And behold, the land was inhabited, (even the land from Shur) by those who come from the fortified cities even to the land of Egypt. ⁹ And he attacked the land, and saved neither man nor woman alive; and they took flocks, herds, donkeys, camels, and clothing; and they returned and came to Achish.

¹ And it came to pass when David and his men had entered Ziklag on the third day, that Amalek had made an incursion upon the south, and upon Ziklag, and attacked Ziklag, and burned it with fire.

¹⁷ And David came upon them, and attacked them from the morning till the evening, and on the next day; and not one of them escaped, except four hundred young men, who were mounted on camels, and fled.

¹ And it came to pass after Saul was dead, that David returned from smiting Amelek, and David abode two days in Ziklag.

⁸ And he said to me, Who are you? And I said, I am an Amalekite. ⁹ And he said to me, Stand over me and kill me, for a dreadful darkness has come upon me, for all my life is in me. ¹⁰ So I stood over him and killed him, because I knew he would not live after he had fallen; and I took the crown that was upon his head, and the bracelet that was upon his arm, and I have brought them here to my lord. ¹¹ And David laid hold of his garments, and tore them; and all the men who were with him tore their clothes. ¹² And they lamented, and wept, and fasted till evening, for Saul and for Jonathan his son, and for the people of Judah, and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword. ¹³ And David said to the young man who brought the news to him, Where are you from? And he said, I am the son of an Amalekite sojourner. ¹⁴ And David said to him, How was it that you were not afraid to lift up your hand to destroy the Lord's anointed? ¹⁵ And David called one of his young men, and said, Go and fall upon him. And he struck him, and he died. ¹⁶ And David said to him, Your blood be upon your own head; for your mouth has testified against you, saying, I have slain the anointed of the Lord.

¹² out of Edom and out of Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amelek, and from the spoils of Hadadezer son of Rehob king of Zobah.

⁴³ And they defeated the remnant that were left of Amalek, until this day.

¹⁴ whereas we have repeatedly broken Your commandments, and intermarried with the people of the lands. Be not very angry with us to our utter destruction, so that there should be no remnant or survivor.

¹⁷ Let his memorial perish out of the earth, and his name shall be publicly cast out.

²³ For oh that my words were written, and that they were recorded in a book forever,

⁶ The swords of the enemy have failed utterly; and you have destroyed cities: their memorial has been destroyed with a noise,

⁷ The memory of the just is praised, but the name of the ungodly man is extinguished.
