¹² And Ananias, a certain devout man according to the law, being testified of by all the Jews dwelling in Damascus,

²⁵ And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.

³ Therefore, brothers, select seven men from among you, of good reputation, full of the Holy Spirit and wisdom, whom we may appoint for this need.

² And godly men buried Stephen, and made great lamentation over him.

¹⁰ Now there was a certain disciple at Damascus named Ananias; and the Lord said to him in a vision, "Ananias." And he said, "Behold I am here, Lord." ¹¹ And the Lord said to him, "Arise and go to the street called Straight, and seek out in the house of Judas, a man named Saul, of Tarsus; for behold, he is praying. ¹² And he has seen in a vision a man named Ananias coming in and putting his hand on him, in order that he might see again." ¹³ But Ananias answered, "Lord, I have heard from many about this man, how many wicked things he has done to Your saints in Jerusalem; ¹⁴ and here he has authority from the chief priests to bind all who are calling on Your name." ¹⁵ But the Lord said to him, "Go your way, for he is a chosen vessel to Me to bear My name before Gentiles and kings, and the sons of Israel. ¹⁶ For I will show him all the things that he must suffer for My name's sake." ¹⁷ And Ananias departed and entered the house; and putting his hands on him, he said, "Brother Saul, the Lord has sent me, the One who appeared to you in the way which you were coming, so that you may see again and be filled with the Holy Spirit." ¹⁸ And immediately there fell from his eyes something like scales, and he saw again; and arising, he was baptized,

²² And they said, "Cornelius the centurion, a just man, and fearing God, having a good reputation among all the nation of the Jews, was given a revelation by a holy angel to send for you to his house, and to hear words from you."

⁴ And some of them were persuaded and were joined with Paul and Silas, both of the devout Greeks, a great multitude, and not a few of the chief women.

⁸ by honor and dishonor, by ill repute and good repute; as deceivers, and yet true;

⁷ Moreover he must have a good testimony among those outside, lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.

² For by it the elders obtained witness.

¹² Demetrius has a good testimony with everyone, and of the truth itself. And we also testify, and you know that our testimony is true.
