¹⁴ If you are reviled in the name of Christ, blessed are you, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On the one hand He is blasphemed, but on the other He is glorified.

²⁵ And the Lord came down in a cloud, and spoke to him, and took of the spirit that was upon him, and put it upon the seventy men that were elders; and when the spirit rested upon them, they prophesied and ceased. ²⁶ And there were two men left in the camp, the name of the one was Eldad, and the name of the other Medad; and the spirit rested upon them, and these were of the number of them that were enrolled, but they did not come to the tabernacle; and they prophesied in the camp.

²⁸ Then they reviled him and said, "You are His disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.

³⁴ They answered and said to him, "You were completely born in sins, and do you teach us?" And they cast him out.

²¹ But all these things they will do to you for My name's sake, because they do not know Him who sent Me.

⁴⁵ And the Jews, seeing the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and spoke against the things being said by Paul, contradicting and blaspheming.

⁶ But because they were opposing and blaspheming, he shook off his clothes and said to them, "Your blood be on your own heads; I am clean. From now on I will go to the Gentiles."

¹⁰ Therefore I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in calamities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake. For whenever I am weak, then I am strong.

²⁴ And they glorified God in me.

¹⁰ whenever He comes, in that Day, to be glorified among His saints and to be marveled among all those having believed, because our testimony among you was believed. ¹¹ Therefore we also pray always concerning you that our God may count you worthy of this calling, and may fulfill all the good pleasure of His goodness and the work of faith with power, ¹² in order that the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and you in Him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.

¹² Blessed is the man who endures temptation; because when he is approved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Lord promised to those who love Him.

¹¹ Indeed we count those blessed who endure. You have heard of the patience of Job, and you saw the end of the Lord--that He is compassionate and He is merciful.

¹² having your manner of life noble among the Gentiles, so that, whenever they speak against you as evildoers, when they observe the good works, they may glorify God in the day of visitation.

¹⁹ For this is admirable, if because of conscience toward God someone endures pain, suffering unjustly. ²⁰ For what glory is it, if when you sin and are beaten, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it, you endure, this is admirable before God.

¹⁴ But even if you should suffer on account of righteousness, you are blessed. "But do not fear their threats, nor be troubled."

¹⁶ having a good conscience, so that in what they speak against you as evildoers, those reviling your good conduct in Christ may be put to shame.

⁴ In regard to these, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same flood of debauchery, reviling you. ⁵ They will render an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.

² And many will follow after their debaucheries, because of whom the way of truth will be blasphemed.
