¹⁰ And set two men, sons of transgressors, before him, and let them testify against him, saying, He blasphemed God and the king: and let them lead him forth, and stone him, and let him die.

²⁸ You shall not revile God, nor curse a ruler of your people.

¹⁵ And speak to the sons of Israel, and you shall say to them, Whosoever shall curse God shall bear his sin. ¹⁶ And he that names the name of the Lord, let him die the death: let all the congregation of Israel stone him with stones; whether he be a stranger or a native, let him die for naming the name of the Lord.

¹³ Evil men have gone out from you, and have caused all the inhabitants of their land to fall away, saying, Let us go and worship other gods, whom you knew not,

¹⁵ One witness shall not stand to testify against a man for any iniquity, or for any fault, or for any sin which he may commit; by the mouth of two witnesses, or by the mouth of three witnesses, shall every word be established.

²² And they were comforting their heart, when behold, the men of the city, sons of transgressors, surrounded the house, knocking at the door. And they spoke to the old man, the owner of the house, saying, Bring out the man who came into your house, that we may know him.

⁵⁹ Now the chief priests, the elders, and all the Sanhedrin were seeking false witnesses against Jesus, so that they might put Him to death, ⁶⁰ and they did not find any. And though many false witnesses came forward, they did not find any. But at last two false witnesses came forward ⁶¹ and said, "This Man said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and after three days to rebuild it.' " ⁶² And standing up the high priest said to Him, "Do You answer nothing? What is it these men are testifying against You?" ⁶³ But Jesus kept silent. And the high priest answered and said to Him, "I adjure You by the living God: Tell us if You are the Christ, the Son of God!" ⁶⁴ Jesus said to him, "You said it. Nevertheless, I say to you, from now on, you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Power, and coming on the clouds of heaven." ⁶⁵ Then the high priest tore his clothes, saying, "He has blasphemed! What further need do we have of witnesses? Look, now you have heard His blasphemy! ⁶⁶ What do you think?" They answered and said, "He is deserving of death."

³³ The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."

¹¹ Then they secretly instigated men to be saying, "We have heard him speaking blasphemous words against Moses and God."

¹³ And they put forward false witnesses saying, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against the holy place and the law;
