1 John 1:1 Cross References - CAB

¹ That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have gazed upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life--

²² The Lord made me the beginning of His ways for His works. ²³ He established me in the beginning, before time was, before He made the earth. ²⁴ Even before He made the depths, before the fountains of water came forth; ²⁵ before the mountains were settled, and before all hills, He begot me. ²⁶ The Lord made countries and uninhabited lands, and the highest inhabited parts of the world. ²⁷ When He prepared the heaven, I was present with Him; and when He prepared His throne upon the winds; ²⁸ and when He strengthened the clouds above, and when He secured the fountains of the earth; ²⁹ and when He strengthened the foundations of the earth; ³⁰ I was by Him, suiting myself to Him, I was that in which He took delight; and daily I rejoiced in His presence continually. ³¹ For He rejoiced when He had completed the world, and rejoiced among the children of men.

⁴ Who has performed and done these things? He has called it who called it from the generations of old; I God, the first and to all futurity, I AM.

² And you, Bethlehem, house of Ephratha, are few in number to be reckoned among the thousands of Judah; yet out of you shall one come forth to Me, to be a ruler of Israel; and His goings forth were from the beginning, even from eternity.

² just as those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word delivered them to us,

³⁹ Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have."

¹ In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. ² He was in the beginning with God. ³ All things came to be through Him, and without Him nothing came to be which has come to be. ⁴ In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. ⁵ And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not apprehend it. ⁶ There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. ⁷ This man came for a testimony, so that he might testify concerning the Light, so that all through him might believe. ⁸ He was not that Light, but was sent so that he might testify concerning the Light. ⁹ That was the true Light which lightens every man coming into the world. ¹⁰ He was in the world, and the world came to be through Him, and the world did not know Him. ¹¹ He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him. ¹² But as many as received Him, He gave them the authority to become children of God, to those who believe in His name; ¹³ who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. ¹⁴ And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. ¹⁵ John testified concerning Him and has cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, 'He who comes after me, has come to be before me, because He was before me.' " ¹⁶ And out of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace. ¹⁷ For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came to be through Jesus Christ. ¹⁸ No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, He who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

²⁶ For just as the Father has life in Himself, so He has granted the Son to have life in Himself,

⁵⁸ Jesus said to them, "Most assuredly I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM."

³⁵ And he who has seen has testified, and his testimony is true; and he knows that he tells the truth, so that you may believe.

²⁷ Then He said to Thomas, "Bring your finger here, and see My hands; and bring your hand here, and put it into My side. Be not unbelieving, but believing."

³ to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many convincing proofs, appearing to them during forty days and speaking of the things concerning the kingdom of God.

²⁰ For we can do none other but to speak the things which we saw and heard.

¹⁶ For we did not follow craftily devised fables when we made known to you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but rather became eyewitnesses of His majesty. ¹⁷ For He received from God the Father honor and glory when a voice was brought to Him such as this by the Magnificent Glory: "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." ¹⁸ And we heard this voice being uttered from heaven, when we were with Him on the holy mountain.

² and the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and we declare to you the eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us-- ³ that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, in order that you also may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

¹³ I am writing to you, fathers, because you have come to know Him who is from the beginning. I am writing to you, young men, because you have overcome the evil one. I am writing to you, little children, because you have come to know the Father. ¹⁴ I wrote to you, fathers, because you have come to know Him who is from the beginning. I wrote to you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the evil one.

¹⁴ And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.

⁷ For there are three that bear witness: the Spirit, the water, and the blood; and these three agree as one.

⁸ "I am the Alpha and the Omega," says the Lord God, "He who is and He who was and He who is to come, The Almighty."

¹¹ saying, "That which you see, write in a book and send to the seven churches: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea."

¹⁷ And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as if dead. But He put His right hand on me, saying, "Do not fear; I am the First and the Last. ¹⁸ I am He who lives, and became dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Death and of Hades.

⁸ "And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write, 'These things says the First and the Last, who became dead, and came to life:

¹³ And He is clothed in a robe having been dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.
