³ And Iosuah sayde vnto the children of Israel: Howe long are ye so slacke to come and possesse the lande whiche the Lord God of your fathers hath geuen you

⁹ And they aunswered: Aryse, that we may go vp agaynst them, for we haue seene the lande, surely a very good one: And do ye syt styll? Be not slouthfull to go and entre to possesse the lande

² That thou wylt encline thine eares vnto wisdome: applye thine heart then to vnderstandyng ³ For if thou cryest after wisdome, and cryest for knowledge ⁴ If thou seekest for her as for siluer, and searchest for her as for treasures ⁵ Then shalt thou vnderstand the feare of the Lorde, and finde the knowledge of God ⁶ For the Lorde geueth wisdome, out of his mouth commeth knowledge and vnderstandyng

⁴ An idle hande maketh poore: but a quicke labouring hande maketh riche

⁴ The sluggarde woulde fayne haue and can not get [his desire:] but the soule of the diligent shall haue plentie

¹⁹ The way of a slouthfull man is as an hedge of thornes: but the way of the ryghteous is playne

¹⁰ Whatsoeuer thou takest in hande to do, that do with al thy power: for in the graue that thou goest vnto, there is neither worke, counsayle, knowledge, nor wysdome

¹⁶ In that time it shalbe sayde to Hierusalem, Feare not: and to Sion, Let not thyne handes be flacke

⁶ And about the eleuenth houre, he wet out, and founde other standyng idle, and saide vnto them: why stande ye here all the day idle

²⁷ Labour not for the meate whiche perisheth, but for that whiche endureth vnto euerlastyng lyfe, which [meate] the sonne of man shall geue vnto you: For hym hath God the father sealed

¹³ Brethren I count not my selfe as yet that I haue attained: but this one thing [I say] I forget those thinges which are behynde, and endeuour my selfe vnto those thynges which are before ¹⁴ And I prease towarde the marke, for the price of the hye callyng of God in Christe Iesus

¹⁰ Wherfore brethren, geue the more diligence for to make your callyng and election sure: For yf ye do such thynges, ye shall neuer fall ¹¹ Yea, and by this meanes an entryng in shalbe ministred vnto you aboudantlye, into the euerlastyng kyngdome of our Lorde and sauiour Iesus Christe
