³¹ Do we, then, nullify the Law through faith? Never may it be! Instead, we uphold Law.

¹⁵ But Jesus answering, said unto him, “Permit it presently; for thus it is fitting to us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then he permits Him.

¹⁷ Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the Prophets. I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill.

²⁰ For I say to you that unless your righteousness shall abound above that of the scribes and Pharisees, you shall never enter into the kingdom of the heavens.

⁶ he shall not honor his father or his mother.’ And you made void the commandment of God on account of your tradition!

⁴ Never may it be! But let God be true, and every man a liar, as it has been written: “That You may be justified in Your words, and will prevail in Your being judged.”

¹⁴ For if those of the Law are heirs, faith has been made void and the promise made of no effect.

⁷ What then shall we say? Is the Law sin? Never may it be! But I have not known sin, if not by Law. And indeed, I had not been conscious of covetousness if the Law had not said, “You shall not covet.” ⁸ But sin, having taken an occasion by the commandment, produced in me all covetousness; for apart from the Law, sin is dead. ⁹ And I once was alive apart from Law; but the commandment having come, sin revived, and I died; ¹⁰ and this commandment that was unto life proved to be death to me. ¹¹ For sin, having taken an occasion by the commandment, deceived me, and by it put me to death. ¹² So indeed, the Law is holy, and the commandment is holy and righteous and good. ¹³ Has that which is good then become death to me? Never may it be! But in order that sin might be shown to be sin, it is working out death through that which is good to me, so that through the commandment sin might become sinful beyond excess. ¹⁴ For we know that the Law is spiritual; but I am fleshly, having been sold under sin.

²² For I delight in the Law of God according to the inward man;

²⁵ Thanks be then to God, through Jesus Christ our Lord! So then, I myself indeed with my mind serve God’s Law; but with the flesh, the Law of sin.

⁴ so that the righteousness of the Law should be fulfilled in us not walking according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

⁴ For the end of Law is Christ, unto righteousness to everyone believing.

⁸ Owe nothing to anyone, except to love one another; for the one loving the other has fulfilled the Law. ⁹ For, “You shall not commit adultery,” “You shall not murder,” “You shall not steal,” “You shall not covet,” and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this word, in, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.” ¹⁰ Love does not do evil to its neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the Law.

²¹ To those outside the Law, as outside the Law (not being outside the law of God, but under the law of Christ) so that I might win those outside the Law.

¹⁹ For through the Law I died to the Law that I might live to God.

²¹ I do not set aside the grace of God. For if righteousness is through the Law, then Christ died for naught.”

¹⁷ Now I say this: The Law, having come four hundred and thirty years afterward, does not annul the covenant having been confirmed beforehand by God, so as to nullify the promise. ¹⁸ For if the inheritance is by the Law, it is no longer by a promise. But God has granted it to Abraham through a promise. ¹⁹ Why then the Law? It was added on account of transgressions, until the seed to whom promise has been made should have come, having been ordained through angels in the hand of a mediator.

¹⁸ But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the Law. ¹⁹ Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, ²⁰ idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, contentions, dissensions, factions, ²¹ envyings, drunkennesses, carousing, and things like these, as to which I forewarn you, even as I warned before, that those doing such things will not inherit God’s kingdom. ²² But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, ²³ gentleness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

¹⁵ And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after having said before: ¹⁶ “This is the covenant that I will make with them, after those days, says the Lord, putting My Laws into their hearts, and I will inscribe them into their mind,”

⁸ If indeed you keep the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you are doing well. ⁹ But if you show partiality, you are committing sin, being convicted by the law as transgressors. ¹⁰ For whoever shall keep the whole Law, but shall stumble in one point, he has become guilty of all. ¹¹ For the One having said, “You shall not commit adultery,” also said, “You shall not murder.” But if you do not commit adultery, but do commit murder, you have become a transgressor of the Law. ¹² So speak and so act as being about to be judged by the Law of freedom.
