¹¹ Not that I speak as to destitution, for I have learned to be content in that which I am.

³¹ Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ Or ‘What shall we drink?’ Or ‘What shall we wear?’ ³² For the Gentiles seek after all these things. For your Heavenly Father knows that you have need of them all. ³³ But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added unto you. ³⁴ Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Sufficient to the day is its own trouble.

¹⁴ And those being soldiers also were asking him, saying, “And what shall we do?” And he said to them, “Extort no one, nor accuse falsely, and be content with your wages.”

¹¹ As far as the present hour, we both hunger and thirst, and are poorly clad, and are buffeted, and wander homeless, ¹² and we toil, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure;

¹⁰ as being sorrowful yet always rejoicing; as poor yet enriching many; as having nothing and yet possessing all things.

⁹ For you know the grace our Lord Jesus Christ, that being rich, for the sake of you He became poor, so that you through His poverty might be enriched.

⁸ And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in every way, always, having all sufficiency, you may abound in every good work.

²⁷ in labor and toil, often in watchings; in hunger and thirst, often in fastings; in cold and nakedness.

⁸ But indeed, therefore, I also count all things to be loss because of the excelling knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, because of whom I have lost all things, and esteem them rubbish, that I may gain Christ

⁶ But godliness with contentment is great gain. ⁷ For we brought nothing into the world, because neither are we able to carry out anything. ⁸ But having sustenance and coverings, with these we will be content. ⁹ But those desiring to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and many foolish and harmful desires, which plunge men into ruin and destruction.

³⁴ For both you sympathized with the prisoners and you accepted the plundering of your possessions with joy, knowing yourselves to have a better and abiding possession.

⁵ Let your manner of life be without covetousness, being satisfied with the present; for He Himself has said: “Never will I leave you, never will I forsake you.” ⁶ So we are confident to say: “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid; what shall man do to me?”
