⁶ Blessed are those hungering and thirsting for righteousness, for they will be filled.

⁴² And all ate and were satisfied. ⁴³ And they took up twelve hand-baskets full of fragments, and also of the fish. ⁴⁴ And those having eaten of the loaves were five thousand men.

⁸ And they ate and were satisfied. And they took up seven baskets of fragments over and above. ⁹ And there were about four thousand. And He sent them away.

¹⁶ And they were reasoning with one another because they had no loaves. ¹⁷ And having known, He says to them, “Why do you reason because you have no loaves? Do you not yet perceive nor understand? Do you have your heart hardened? ¹⁸ ‘Having eyes, do you not see? And having ears, do you not hear?’ And do you not remember? ¹⁹ When I broke the five loaves for the five thousand, how many hand-baskets full of fragments did you take up?” They say to Him, “Twelve.” ²⁰ “And when the seven were to the four thousand, how many baskets full of fragments did you take up?” And they said, “Seven.” ²¹ And He was saying to them, “Do you not yet understand?”

⁵³ He has filled those hungering with good things, and those being rich He has sent away empty.

¹⁷ And they all ate and were satisfied; and that having been a surplus to them was taken up, twelve hand-baskets of fragments.

⁷ Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarii worth of loaves are not sufficient for them, that each might receive one little piece.”

¹¹ And Jesus took the loaves, and having given thanks, He distributed to those reclining; likewise also of the fish, as much as they wished. ¹² Now when they were filled, He says to His disciples, “Gather together the fragments having been over and above, so that not anything may be lost.” ¹³ So they gathered them together and filled twelve hand-baskets of fragments from the five barley loaves, which were over and above to those having eaten. ¹⁴ Therefore the people, having seen what sign He had done, were saying, “This is truly the prophet who is coming into the world.”
